hi guys I'm a 16yr old teen i live in New Zealand.. I'm wanting some advice on wether to rebuild the 4k in my starlet or drop a new worked 4k or rally 4k in..?? the 4k in it at the moment apparntly hase a race cam..but not sure if it actually does as you can usually hear.. and its running allright at the moment but the previous owner said it has i worn big end bearing.. I'm wondering which would be cheaper and better..ether replace with worked 4k or rebuild the current 4k.. if i was to rebuild the 4k currently in it i would want to work it so it pulls hard for a non turb 4cylinder 1300..does anyone have any advice on what are some good things to work on the …

I'm a relatively new poster here (long time reader) and thought I might chuck up some pics of my DD and Project KE25. Stock KE55 beater, complete with dodgy manual conversion, 50% compression on #1 Cylinder and noisy tappets! Project KE25, currently being stripped for small rust repairs/acid dip/respray and a FULL rebuild/restoration of every single mechanical/electronic/interior component. That's it! Hopefully My friends have already nicked named it the "Shit mobil" , as the colour of the car :D Once again it was one of those buys off and old laddy who has had it all her life . Well i sold my black 55, so i thought i would post my new one up( not really new had it for a while) Its a stock 4kc and was a auto but i changed it to a 5 speed. Lowered it a lil bit :D :evil: When i got her it came with paperwork for a engine rebuild that was done 80xxx km ago.It has original corolla mudflaps on the rear. I am keeping the 13" stockos on it. hey all. i been driving this around for a few months. just using it to get to and from work and the occasional bush thrash. its really become my ghetto fix car. when i got it only the headlights worked, nothing else, drivers seat was just foam and wire (mmm comfy), the drivers window didnt work, and the radio didnt work. ive got the lights working now and the window, ghetto sylezzz (pics of ghettoness later) and chucked another seat in. ive spent no money on it and don't really plan to. maybe a bunnings spray job. i need it to not get yellow stickered til mid next year so I'm trying to make it... presentable. anyway pics!

I bought the car from an old lady n it was pretty crap n it had filthy brown interior. Its got: fresh paint flared guards 17'' chromies overrated blue inerior still reppin the 4k with a webber n extractors haha Its just a killer cruiser.

I found a 4K from a liteace in the Quokka and went to have a look... turns out the guy selling had a 1989 T-18 for sale too... seeing as my budget was fairly limited, i didn't bother asking the price he was after. Hey guys thought i better get a rides thread up for this one. She's ratty as, but that's the way i like it. The interior was fingered, so i put all the red interior from the other 10 in it. Just gotta re-do the front brakes and chuck some new tyres on it and it should be almost ready for a roady. Gotta sort out the gearbox too, she hardly moves under power due to the fact that the toyoglides oil pan's been leaking and it's got next to no oil in it. I'l put a new gasket on the oil pan and fill it up and see if that works, if it doesn't i've always got the 4 speed sitting there for it. Had to be done.... Haven't put the other seat in yet, i…

Thought id put my project rolla up. 75 2 Door sedan ke30. Scored cheap rescued from a back yard. Has 5k extractors. I have a ca18det engine complete with loom etc from Adelaide jap, which seems to be taking forever to get to me, currently in quarantine . Plans are Monza red paint fresh suspension, stumpy 5 speed. Also I have a very early hilux diff. Well I have stripped the car out and started with painting one panel at a time. First time painting. This project has swallowed some coin already if I count cost of compressor, hvlp guns paint clear hoses etc plus 1600 for the donk.

Hey. I bought this little Corolla two years ago when I first got my P's. It's done 352k+ k's but it's still going. I'm currently using it for pizza deliveries and it's treated me well, but I was thinking of changing a few things or even the car... It's a 4 speed as well so it's tends to be quite noisy when down shifting and around 80km/h. I was thinking of either getting it panelbeated and getting rid of the rust and painting it. ok so i finally woke up and slapped myself in the face, and went to eastern creek car is a ke20 running a 3t gte, twin cam turbo. currently gettin 154hp at the wheels (dyno'd) currently running of only 4 spark plugs, with a bullsh|t front mount, the worst piping ive seen in my life, and the shortest gear ratios going around. overall the cars a little machine and great fun and worst of all a holden camira computer. now for the details on my time. message of u were there and if u ran ur car. mine was gray with hyfill front end. looks like a pilchard my first run. r/t .238 my best reaction of 3runs 60' …

Ok, so I just got this home last night, needs some work but will be a fun little project in between Fonkey and ORB...... KE20, in Bamboo no less :) No engine or box (yet) Locked diff (soon to be removed) Slightly butchered engine mounts and tranny tunnel (replace/repair) 12's with hubcaps! <-- Keeping as is Seats are a little rough Fairly clean body, minimal rust, great base. Idea is to clean it up, bolt it together nice and neat, rego it then daily it as soon as the hatchback is gone. Pics!

This I hope will tell the story of an unloved KE30 who rises from the weeds to become a successful track-day car. As the title reads the budget is just $500usd so there won't be any big boost turbo twincam swaps. I plan to use this car for solo racing so high HP is not that important. I found this little car languishing in disrepair under a sticker bush. Fiddling with the carby I managed to get her moving and away from the bush. Surprisingly there was little rot but plenty of surface rust and the frame rails were solid. Anyway the pics. This is how I found her (try not to cry) the air cleaner was on the pass floor. Hey guys, just picked up my ke70 today. It's in pretty shabby condition and needs some work, got rust eating through and all sorts of little shit bits. I intend on doing most of the work myself as financial wise I'm in a drought, so any tips on fixing any of it would be very useful and appreciated. I'll get pics up of it later tonight after work. Hi guys, I've got an AE71 panno that I'm currently building up and I need some advice on what colour to change it to. It is currently beige (with black primer and rust highlights) and so far my options are: 1. Gloss black (Silhouette from BF Falcon). 2. Midnight purple (R33 GT-R) 3. Beige with wood look side panels (with gold lowrider style wire wheels) The respray will be done roughly when I get my tax refund this year. Any thoughts on these options (or others) will help me out heaps. I'll try and put some photos up shortly.
