  1. it doesnt look like ya mixed enough hardener into it, it should be darker than that, and try and kinda drag it across instead of just lifting it off, just making more work for ya self just my 2c, you can weld it if ya can be bothered
  2. it DOESNT REQUIRE taking it over the pits, you just have to take it to a certified inspection station, most mechanical workshops can do them, what are you going to be using the car for over the next few years?? you might even want to leave it unregoed
  3. put it on SI rego, it should be old enough and it is half the cost of normal rego, oh and ya don't have to take it over the pits just find someone you know with a certifacte do do rego checks and take it there, ya can only drive it once a week though or 52 times a year my car is on VC rego but ya gotta be in a car club that lets you have it and ya gotta get a rego check every year but its only a basic check, only cost just over $100 for a years rego and ya can drive it to club events, but ya cars gotta be old enough. why not just stick to the stock diff?? should hold on for long enough and they are cheap enough for another if ya blow ya old one cheers
  4. just depends what ya towing with, our 2x4 2.6 rodeo has no troubles towing heary cars, we go from sorell to exeter in the one go without stops and nothing gets to hot, torque monster, it will cut a bit off his time as hes coming through mudwalls road, just backing up what jonny said, hire trailers are shit, they have no suspension and the ramps are allways to short.....
  5. it all depends on how deep you pockets are and how long you want it to last, i wonder if a 7k would go out to 2ltr, that would be cool :P
  6. why don't you just get it as clean as you can and then paint it gloss black, looks cool but can make the car a little bit noisey sometimes, i had no carpet in my ke11 for about 6 months, then when i put carpet in i couldnt believe how quiet it was, just depends on what you preferance is
  7. a trans am eagle on the bonnet would stand out, they sell them on ebay, bright colours are better i think, you could repaint it the origional colour so you don't have to paint in the doors jams and under the bonnet, what style rims??
  8. i paid $200 for a knox moulded carpet, included fitting of the carpet and underlay aswell as having a dash matt made for it aswell, the bloke did a great job of it cheers james
  9. why don't you just buy a 4k or a 5k, they will basically bolt straight in and will be faster than your 3k without having to spend loads of money?
  10. i think a ke30 4 speed would be stronger, i blew the 4 speed in my ke10 with a dead stock 4k, they are pretty weak boxes, plus the gear shifter hole comes through the floor in a different spot so you will have to cut a hole in the floor for it, it might also have a bit extra load on it because of the sticky tyres and the welded diff, hows the ke30 diff holding up in it?? cheers james
  11. looks like a good project, you could lower it down a little for a nice stance, what colour are you going to paint it? and you can't complain about the price.....$0 you could start a thread for this car in the rides and projects section kepp up on the work cheers james
  12. ther was a fella on here a while ago who had a 3k that he said was out to 1500, he said it was used in a rally car before he got it, he ended up selling the motor anyway, brendo's car has a 3k that aparently 1300cc, goes pretty well
  13. mine are connected up properly now, well they work properly anyway, i spliced the other 2 wires into the main power cable, mine must be the first ke30/ke55 with them, i might have a go at cable tying some into my other ke10 tommorow, i have some spare datsun 240k lights, yours looks great teddy, how much does one of those setups normally go for to suit a ke70???
  14. sounds pretty good, ke10/ke20's are 110pcd and cortinas and escorts are 108pcd, they will fit but are pretty dodgey
  15. yep sure is
  16. when i did mine, i painted down in between the spokes and the centre black and then polished the top of the spokes and the rim looks pretty good
  17. how much for the set of superlites? how low are the rear leafs? i might be intrested in both, pending price
  18. I'm open to offers on the ke20, i have made a decent start on the bodywork, it just need a paint job and some small rust reapirs inside the drivers door, running gear minus box and motor are there and they work fine, it would make a great project, its orange, may be able to source a 4k for it, may also come with some parts aswell if i get what i want for it i will see what i can do about some pics of the parts, have a look at the new thread i also started about rare ke20 parts if your intrested that stuff cheers james
  19. I'm after a really small peice its on ke30 and ke55 frount hubs, its a little ring that goes on the back of the hub to hold the bearing in, i need both the left and the right ones, anybody got a couple???? still got the ke20 stuff here, anybody want some??? ive even got a whole ke20 that I'm intrested in selling, no motor or box, nearly ready for paint... cheap cheers james

  22. its looking good, are those the wheels from the fella with the rx2? will be good to see it running, are you gunna do some club days in it when you get it going? the doors on ke20's are also pretty flimsey, if you have thick paint of them and your doors flex it can crack the paint, atleast that wont happen on you roof
  23. hi mate i have frount gaurds but they are rusty and a stone try that needs a little bit of panel beating, not much though, i think i have a good frount bumper, i will get some pics if your intrested cheers james
