It really depends on what sort of clutch you use. Would be even better if you could find some sort of double diaphram pressure plate. Even if you get a HD pressure plate with extra clamping force then they'll normally make these with different "ratio" fingers (like increased ratio rocker arms) to lighten it back up. The HD cusioned button clutch (exedy) that I have in Tar is actually a fair bit lighter to depress than both the (shithouse) RPM heavy duty full face clutch in Dirt AND the hydraulically driven cushioned button in my mazda. So yeah, depending on the clutch you use a cable isn't always going to be heavier than hydraulic. :)

You didn't happen to get that one oft ebay that was like $125 did you!? Pinched Daim's what's to trial fit for offset purposes last night. They're 14x9 -19 with 185's stretched onto them. Would have preferred to do it with a squarer tyre but you get the idea of where the lip is. Forgot I needed to borrow a bigger socket to get my spacer plates off the back...... so we put the -19 on with 27mm of spacers!!!! So you might as well say that these pic are with -36 offset! :) Removing the spacers would have the lip pretty much in line with the edge of the flair. Also tried them on the front.... which were near perfect.

Sorry I wasn't very clear on that, I'm talking about the steel case W40/50. I think the alloy case (w56 etc) would again be getting a bit expensive. I remember Madrolla68 got a price on the complete W56 with the correct BH from a KR42R townace. Along with the correct KR flywheel its was going to be $900 IIRC. Saying that though it would be an absolutey bullet-proof K series box. Having the convert to hydro wouldn't overly faze me though. Its easy enough for any 4a etc conversion in a KE. Using a K-W50 would be easier though as they still use cables.

Have you ever tried to source a K-T bellhousing? They're not the easiest things to find. I started a "K-T roll call" thread to see how many we had amongst rollaclub members and I think there is about 12'ish in Aus!!! I have a K-T50 in my turbo car and a K-W50 which I'm about to put in another project. If I had to get another 'strong K GB' then I know which one I'd get, being the K-W50. Why: 1, Well if you'd heard my K-T50 lately you probably agree that for a high perfromance K series the W50 is a much stronger option. 2, They're a whole lot easier to find as you just use the Bell-housing from a liteace, and the GB from an RA40 etc (neither are rare). Compared to trying to find one of the few KE35's that had K-T's or Carina etc which we never got in Aus. 3, Price. Have a search through previous FS threads and you see that you can pay up to twice as much for a K-T over a K-W because they're so rare.

Anybody going out to drive or spectate? Think I might go for a look on Sunday. Talking to Daim last night and he's taking the K'sev for a thrash.

On the right track, but not quite correct. :) You have 2x power sources to your coil: 1, normal "ON" power which runs through the ballast resistor to drop the voltage to 6~8v. 2, "start" power, which is 12v to help start the engine better. After the car has started and you let the key go back to the "ON" position the "start" power drops out. So your problem is a fault somewhere in the "ON" power circuit. This could be the ballast itself or the wiring to it. Flick your key to on (without engine running) and use a test light on either side of the ballast resistor. If you have power on one side but not the other then the BR is rooted. If you don't have it on either side then there is a problem with wiring to the BR.

So it should look identical to the one I pictured above. And I think they're actually called a DMTR-A

Ask for a K series "Hot-box" gasket. :D

Have you done it, I can't even remember what I orginally wrote! Its still a little confusing isn't it....... troddles off to fix FAQ tribble.

Spose you were just lucky you asked the question on rollaclub not ausrotary.com

Does your 32/32 look very similar to this one?..... Mine have been of Fiat 128's BTW. If so you have 2x options to fit it on a K series manifold as they ARE DIFFERENT bolt flanges to a 32/36. 1, Get the 32/36 adapter plate. Bolt it onto the K series mani as per normal. Then after sitting the carby on top of it you'll notice that (motor side) 2x bolts don't line up. They'll be right on the edge of the carby. Cut the holes into open slots and the carb will then fit on. Make sure to use a couple of decent sized washers to hold it down as 1/4 of the bolt will hang over the carby. I have done this on "Dirt" and can take a picture of it for you if you want? 2, Little bit bush mechanic, but still works fine. This was done to the above pictured carb which was later boosted and still loved it. Anyway, sit the carb on top of the manifold (with no adapter plate) and you notice that the stock asian bolt pattern is VERY close to the weber one. You then need to grind out the bolt holes (ideally with a sideways cutting drill bit) on the weber outwards about 10mm each and it'll then actually fit straight on the stock manifold. Here's a panit picture I did a while ago for somebody else. Shows how close the K and 32/32 (fiat) weber bolts are and also how the 32/36 (cortina etc) bolts will come out right on the edge of the 32/32 carb.

So Datsun make RX2's do they!?

On the plus side if all of the rear panels are straight you could always make a trailer to tow behind your new panel van! .......... http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?s...0208&st=540

Yeah seen a few guys do it. IIRC you just need to drill out the 2x spot welds where it attaches to the rest of the front.

4ktc TD04-L turbo and 8PSI..... and the 5kte setup with T25G on 10 PSI. Circle is around the visible clutch slip.....

Its probably better off being turned into ana's projects thread. If you want this to be the case (when your engine is 100% and running) just shoot me a PM and I'll move into the appropiate area and you can re-title it.

Old french dude doing a breatho...... Do you think he's maybe a little pissed. Even the cop pisses himself. Um, don't think there's any doubt here..... and last one...... hahahaha

Whats wrong with Tighe?

I don't think you can still get an ACL D-dish type piston for a 5k. Pretty sure they only do the O-dish type with a volume of 6cc.

Supertraps are a type of muffler. They were pretty popular on rotaries back in the day.

You sure the alt is actually making charge like it should?

I know the 5k dishies are supposed to be 22cc, but never CC'd them myself to confirm.
