  1. Only things you'll really notice from the pics are: Diffs - Borgy or banjo And weather it has a rear sway bar or not. Everything else will just look the same. :y:
  2. ....oh and anbody wanting to see more, this ISN'T from Top Gear. Its from "James May on the Moon". I've been watching a few of the tube vids today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvExCo43aq0&NR=1
  3. Great to see you've finally got this going! :y: Has been a long time since you were PM'ing me about gearbox's etc.... you made the right choice in bighting the bullet for the gen 2 box. You'll never have to think about it again with an NA 12a. You reminded me about the day I picked up the '4 after the 13b and manual conversion re "shakey handys"...... mind you, you should have seen the face of my passenger.... who drove a 253 LX 4 door. :) Just to add a bit of info on chappo's question about the oil coolers - There's no way in hell a trans cooler will have sufficient cooling surface area or hold enough pressure for a rotary, for which oil cooler are pretty important. Fork out some decent money now for good one to start with and avoid yourself future engine failure from getting it too hot. Think of it this way water cools the outside of a rotary engine and oil cools the centre of it. Felix - I've never seen those carbs before either. There's a good reason why they'd have better bottom end and economy than an IDA and that's cause they primarys and secondary throats. From what I can see in the pics the outside (big) ports are the primarys, then when you crack the secondarys it'll also feed the centre plate ports. Can't see them having better top end than an IDA though, otherwise every second man and his dog would have then (or something similar like modified twin 32/36 etc).
  4. And how much nose down attitude did it have until like 2 metre above the strip. That would have been right ups James' ally too.
  5. Correctamundo! :) Yeah clutch wouldn't hold any more than 10psi that trip to the dyno. You can actually clearly see the clutch slip on the graph!!!!....
  6. Might just be a good opprtunity to put a new set of points in it. You can set some for under $10 from any parts store. Maybe also get a new rotor cap and button, and maybe some new leads and plugs too.
  7. :( Good work. Thats basically a disclaimer, so we'll (mods/admin) also now keep an eye on anybody who may give your partner a hard time. .......so back to the topic at hand (being 4k mods) click on the FAQ and find the section called "How to build a tough K motor". Thats a great place to start and will give you some ideas. You can then use the search function to further research the given ideas. :hmm:
  8. There's 2x in my "tar" thread, one for 69.Xrwkw and one for 100.7rwkw
  9. Yeah mate rollas still going really well. Been working on my mazda lately so haven't done much to it lately. Just got my tax return done so I'm about to buy a new turbo and freshen a few things up. Also got a son now so not too much money to spend on cars now anyway. Yeah still working for Staging. :hmm:
  10. Engine hat! :hmm: If you want to compare it to somthing like that then its more like a skull! A hat is more of a fashion excessory that not essential. Whereas you skull is pretty neccessary as it protects the top of you "engine" and keeps the "oil" in.... and everything else out.
  11. Bekkah - I have absolutely no problem with the spelling issue. I have a couple of mates who are dixlestic* so I know why you're getting your back up about that, and completely understand. Maybe it would be a good idea to add something to your signature about this for future. Ie "I/my partner has/have dislexia, so if there is bad spelling or punctuation in my posts then please bare with me". You'll find that most people then won't say a word about it, and us mods will also start defending you if someone does bag your BF out for a medical condition. *Pardon pun :lolcry: Ok, now. What I did have a probelm with was your lack of prior searching. I think from what others have said you should be starting to understand how we work here. I think SLO nailed it with this: It was pretty obvious from the original thread you started that neither of you had searched at all. You simply wanted answer to questions........... that have been asked already SOOOOOOOOOO many times, rather than trying to help yourself!! Now don't get narky again, its not going to get you anywhere here. Just except that this is the way we work..... and work with us. :( :hmm:
  12. Well look who it is!! Long time no see Rob. Ke20rolla is wrecking a KE11 at the moment so it may be worth shooting him a PM. ps, don't you think it about time you changed your avatar!! haha :hmm:
  13. This bit :hmm:
  14. I wonder why! :hmm:
  15. haha thought that would be the case. They're not pressed into the head very hard so if you need to swap them between head you should just be able to pull them out with a set of bull nose pliers. :hmm:
  16. .....only cause I'm always right!! :(
  17. Sounds like too much ignition timing! :) That would account for the back-firing, why unplugging the MAP sensor improves it and the over-heating issue!
  18. As previously asked, are you using the stock ECU or aftermarket? Where did you get the EFI kit from? NZ? Reason I ask is a lot of kiwi's with aspirated K's will adjust the AFM to richen the tune on boost instead of goes AM ECU. You could possible have one of these modded ones and thats why its getting mega rich! :( My advice - Just get an AM ECU and be done with it. :)
  19. Friend of yours!? http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showuser=9750 :)
  20. Yeah should have said to get new points too, but you're onto that. All this sort of stuff I normally buy from SCA. Remember a couple of years ago I bought: Rotor cap Rotor Button New points New plugs Bosch super sport lead set Fuel filter and a spray can of degreaser All for like $39.50. My mate and I lol'd quite hard as apart from the coil, we just rebuilt the whole ignition system for under $40!!! :)
  21. No the lead kit won't come with a rotor button and cap. You'll have to get them seperately, but $15 should get you both from any parts shop. :)
  22. First vid - Second pass - I can't believe he managed to keep that Civic (?) off the wall!!! and the third pass - That look a hell of a lot like Pac's MX6!?
  23. Thats why I thought I'd double check. A new bosch cap is under $10 anyway. Or if you were a KP61.net member you could buy a clear one and button for USD$25 + postage. :)
  24. Don't think its a panno but there's a KE26 that gets around Launy sometimes. Think its from the NW coast. Looking good Mark. :) Was having a chat to your bro the other day at the Cas about SIV rego and stuff.
  25. Do you mean a rotor cap?
