  1. I may try to get a set in this week and check it with the factory pistons i have. If they are a deeper radial depth, then that is something that I would easily be able to fix.
  2. It would be rs155060cr4h, you'd have to ring them to see if it's stocked. They do have a website, but don't list by ring size. The trade catalog is really comprehensive and does list by size.
  3. Ok I found it. If you're buying your hypatech pistons from "precision"? then there hastings part number for the rings is RS1552020cr4h for a std bore 5K or RS1552040cr4h for a 1/2mm oversize. They are a honda ringset and it's std bore is 80mm so you need a 1/2mm bigger. The last 3 numbers are the oversize(020=1/2mm, 040=1mm). The cr denotes a chrome ringset. Hope that helps. Stu..
  4. Nnnnnoooooooo wwwwwaaaaaaayyyy!!
  5. Yup thats what I did.
  6. Nah bud I'll find it over the weekend. The ringset part number that is. Buying pistons from precision?
  7. I bought a fair bit of stuff from 3rd gear for the rgv, not bad gear at all.
  8. King only make the entry range for K series. Acl bearings are only old stock they make nothing here now, even their race series forged pistons were made in the US. Personally I'd look for a Japanese bearing like a teiho from precision international, although they aren't showing any on the website at the moment (they are listing king though)but it may be worth getting in contact to see. You'll want chrome top rings for it. No one does/lists a chrome ring for a K motor but i had a dig at work a while ago and found an alfa romeo ring set that is chrome and fits. I'll have to get back to you on the part numbers as I'm out at the moment. Tazrx may have the part numbers.
  9. Grats mate, all the effort and headaches now must seem worth it. Did you end up fitting those high comp slugs?
  10. They look really nicely made. Have fun testing.
  11. Cheers man, it's nice to have a harley rider give a compliment, most of them in my area ask "when are you upgrading from a scooter?" Other than km's ive put these on I'm yet to test them but should a lot better being shorties.
  12. It should live happily on 98 fuel at 11:1. Small(ish) cam and stock ports would make for an F'tonne of torque.
  13. Not enough comp to make it efficient. Want to be atleast 12.5-13:1, I've seen 12:1 engines with 3mm thick carbon build up on pistons after 2,000kms. As for e85 and carbs. Joe Gibbs oils, do an additive for ethanol fuels for carburetor engines. It's called "carb defender".
  14. Try a bearing shop. I doubt you'd pay more than $15.
  15. Haha that's every time I get pulled. I don't mind though, being I don't commute on it, I'm usually going the long way somewhere so I'm in no hurry.
  16. Nnnnnoooooooo Monicaaaaa!!! Cause I'm on logbook/historic reg. I get pulled over atleast 50% of the time for logbook checks.
  17. Sorry, but that's all I got, out of your post Stu.
  18. I reckon you'd be right Si. I don't think too many n/a K's would touch it. Its really only 15whp off my old blown setup. Grats guys!!!!!
  19. I know what you're saying, was 4 deg at a datsun event this morning in melb. That sounds scary.
  20. Front right wheel bearings? Id try a clean, repack with grease and try them. Can't hurt.
  21. Flat clear on the bonnet to preserve that awesome!! Good to see you've gone efi. It's in every way f'tons better.
  22. Should be fine with appropriate restraint points fitted. A mate just had points professionally fitted to his hq and his wifes fc. The guy he used is melb based.
  23. Rian you're sssooooo far in front it aint funny!!!!
  24. God this thing is fun!! Done a few km's Thursday night and almost a hundred today, its so hard to not turn it past 8k. Hehe. Other than some ergo adjustments(gear, brake and clutch levers) and i should be happy.
  25. +1 from me too. Would have to be in my top 3 engine bays on here. Very well thought out and executed.
