Experience With Boosted Factory Efi
kickn5k replied to megamannz123's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Nope sure wont, no boost reference. Factory ECU's are like megasquirt and microtechs only good for bin fill! Don't skimp on an ECU thats what keeps your engine running. -
7K (Big Block!?)Build Suggestions
kickn5k replied to megamannz123's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Efi or carb 7k? The 7K-e's had a much better cylinder head from factory. I have a geni toyota multi layer steel manifold gasket for a 7K-e(the carb ones are definitely different), i'd be happy to donate for the price of postage. Why not supercharge the 5k? You've been in a boosted K haven't you? Haha -
4Age No Start - Need Help From The Efi Wizards

Let us know how you go. My old mans FJ20t was 150psi when healthy -
I have the TRD head you're talking about, Bruce. I'll try and confirm sizes for you tonight. Some photos here http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/9733-my-white-ke-11/page__st__285

I'm lucky enough to have 8-10 good mates to ride with, all litre bike guys, but all ride to their ability and conditions. Good to hear that you're getting out and about with it.
-
Haha much better. Both carbs jets were blocked and one main jet broken. No sure how it even ran. That was first kick after cleaning the carbs. Now half way through rebuilding the rear brake master, then find why the brake light switch for the front hasn't any power. I JUST WANT TO RIDE IT!!!!!!!!!
-
I can understand that mate. It's been a massive hole in their lineup for a long time. New muffler looks the biz, personally wouldn't care what it sounds like.
-
How's the bandit treating you?
-
Well sort of half alive lol. Only running on one cylinder, beauty of 2 stroke engines it is either carb or spark. I'm tipping its fuel as the carb on the cylinder that's working pisses fuel out of the overflow. Just ordered a pair of float needle and seats, that should fix that issue then it's start again.

Keys keys keys keys keys!!!!! I got Keys!!!! Checked fuses and 20amp main fuse was blown, stole the one out of the spare parts bike and. This happened. Now to the electric issues(so far) are: I get brake lights for the rear but not the front(dicky switch most likely) The speedo light also doesn't work(blown globe) Power valve stepper motor seems to work well so I'm pretty happy about that. So it's gearbox oil and coolant change put some fuel in it and kick her over!!!

You really posted this for the lolz right?

Not really stressed about Formula Prius these days. The gaps between the haves and the have nots is wwaaaaayyyyyy too big. Even a mate who happens to be a handling engineer in FP needed a rather cool company car to entice him back. Supertaxis are ultra close, so that's a shame that they aren't free to air. As long as MotoGP stays on ch One/Ten I really don't mind. World Series Sprintcars are on One and lately been awesome to watch.

Seeing as the rear seat/helmet lock is now unlocked, I can now pull rear fairings off. With this apart I can drain the oil injection tank and get the rear brake bled and working(hopefully). I removed the ignition barrel last night, to get that out I had to pull the top triple clamp off. So while I was there I cleaned and re packed the headstem bearings. I noticed the dust seals for the fork seals are a little perished so they'll get redone over the next week or so. Bought a new AGV K3 helmet and a pair of pretty much new(2 rides old) alpinestars road boots, they like the bike were an awesome deal($100)

Should be easy to cafe racer that puppy!! Set of "clip ons", a seat pan and your gold!! Nice pick up, they're a good thing. Fairly easy to ride too.
-
Haha I've spent considerably more on it than that. He has the code checker thingy, couldn't get one or two sections of the lock to budge on the ignition. So he's going to pull it apart, check it and lube it all up and should be gold. Will just mean one key for ign and tank and one for the helmet lock/rear seat release, this is fairly important as it needs to come off to fill the fuel oil.
-
Well, my mate came around today to sort a key. Which was a disaster!! All three locks are different, so now I need to pull the ignition and helmet locks out to get them reset to the tank key :(
-
Yeah and from all accounts fit really well and colours are pretty spot on. It will be the tank that will kill me, that will cost as much if not more than the fairings. New clutch cable fitted. Came with the bikes pretty happy about that.

For a period correct look I'm looking to get some of these after I've got the 5k turbo'd. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=131144396023 But then I saw these. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=141227984124 I'm thinking I'll off load the blue bike after the black bike is club plated. Will need to recoup some money for the Rolla.

Pretty much the only place in Canada where the Canadian accents out number the Aussie ones. I'm not much for scenery, normally but Lake Louise blew me away.
-
Like this sort of thing? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=381206238353 New bars look perfect. Looking more like my mates street bob now. 👍
-
So my mate ended up ordering a black denim street 500, like yours Zowie. Test ride was awesome other than being a bit damp, I could ride one daily no worries. They are pretty much on par with an 883 sporty, definatly not lacking punch for a LAMS bike. They offered me a test on a 72, I had to decline as I probably would have bought one, love the look of em.
-
Nah not yet, he had a call out so wasn't able to do it, he's coming on Wednesday to cut keys for the black bike. Have been purchasing some things of late. New clear screen, trans oil, fuel oil, new plugs, new air filter, filter cleaner and oil, new grips and a good set of second hand indicators. Now after I've given it a service, then got it started, all I need is new tyres, rear rotor, front and rear pads and chain and sprockets and she's ready for rego. I free'd up the carbs, wasn't a stuck throttle cable, the carb slides had seized with gunk. Cleaned up a treat.
-
Yeah man that was one of the 48's that had me looking into one. I had tested a heap of S/H hogs while I was looking to buy. Mate has a modded street bob, I'd had a go of a night train and an ultra glide, the 48 handles way better than all of the skinny wheel bikes put together. I have been asked to test a 500 this weekend for a mate, I have to say I'm a pretty excited!!

Should be plenty. What's timing at?
