  1. Damnit I'm already looking up performance parts for a car I haven't yet decided to buy!
  2. When I bought my pistons they had 20 40 and 60 don't think they had a 10.
  3. Sweet. First question, do you actually have a radiator overflow for sale?
  4. Wgmg. Test driving the new VW Scirocco R on a whim and now fighting overwhelming urges to buy one....
  5. No. Of it needs boring, go up to the next size, which is 20 thou. There is no point boring too large, you will gain almost negligible power. The largest pistons you can get are 60 in 5k pistons so any damage in the future and you'll scrap the motor.
  6. I bought my 5k and had it built for little more than 2000 with all the fruit and it's certainly not "mild"
  7. Looks killer, I want to get a set of Tosco 4 spokes for mine. Mech eng mate, only way to roll.
  8. The tech articles is where we drop detailed how tos etc, the mods move stuff there as needed.
  9. Haha I picked up from my little brother. Pete still working or has he retired yet?
  10. And you'll almost certainly never get them back on as tight as they were in the first place.
  11. Derp. By the way, that tacho is cool as.
  12. For the short term, cut the hoses off in the engine bay and plug them/connect to recirc. It's most likely your core, you will need to rip it out and get it fixed. Shouldn't be expensive. I had a mate whose heater core ruptured (in a KE38) and in the middle of traffic his car is filled with steam and he couldn't see.
  13. What car are you in? I had this issue with my KE10, the bottom rad hoses are difficult to find (in a hurry), I use a chopped KE20 bottom hose. I had the same issue, the later alternator fan blades nip the hose as the engine rocks. It eventually bit a pinhole in the hose after about 6 months of driving. I reckon I use an 845mm belt, I can't actually get the belt on without taking the waterpump pulley off, that's how short it is. Try that slightly smaller one, you can loosen the water pump pulley right off slip the belt over it and tighten it up to get it on. Next time I pull the Rad out, I'll get the radiator outlet modified and turned 90 degrees and run a different hose. Also, I made a very thin piece of stainless sheet and taped it onto the rad hose so if it touches it doesn't chop into the rubber.
  14. Packing tape takes 30 seconds for a skilled thief. I saw a mate who'd never tried it before, pop a coat hanger in down the seal strip and open an 80's Seca in 2 minutes. I've opened my cars by simply prising the door window frame outward with my fingers enough to put an arm in and unlock it.
  15. are you running crap tyres. That could well reduce some of your concerns. You can run rev-controlled traction control with a lot of aftermarket ECU's now, doesn't need ABS.
  16. 200 bucks for a DIY megasquirt, 8 grand for a motec.
  17. In the faq is a pin out list for the KE10 cluster, if you pop the cluster out and link the pin numbers to the cable colours, you're 90 percent there.
  18. If you want to get a little more serious, buy the MSD 6AL programmable. Lock the dizzy, run a boost reference and properly tune your ignition curve.
  19. You need to remove the points plate and it he guts of the dizzy I's a little advance weight mechanism, two weights that move through centripetal force withsprings attached. Most peopl exist wire the weights together, if you were to get fancy you'd make a plate that locks it out. There's actually a bunch of articles on locking and recurring on the net, Rodgers journal and so on, better explanation than I can give without pics.
  20. The level is rising in the sump? As in you've busted the fuel pump diaphragm and filling the block with fuel? Seriously though, facets are a pain in the arse noisy piece of shit. It'll be a cold day in hell before I install one over a mech pump.
  21. To be blunt I don't believe it's is legal. If you disagree, call your registration authority and take it up with them. When you get nailed by the cops, telling them "a bloke on rollaclub said its alright" won't fly. Thread locked.
  22. It's not Byron only, started popping up here as well in the last few weeks. Yes there is an autocorrect, its commonly found that Desmonds and adelaide high school leavers can't spell with properly. I'm also thinking of having Manuel adjusted I don't believe we Have any people called Manuel on this site?
  23. Good write up, I think I will move it to the tech articles.
  24. Yeh definitely sounds like something isn't quite functioning correctly. Does the master cylinder rod have adjustment where it connects to the pedal, sometimes you need to wind that out to get it set.
