  1. Yep, thats the one, good deal compared to rare spare, i think you save about $250, and they probably are made in the same factory. :)
  2. Just to let everyone know, i bought one of those rubber kits offered on ebay as a "buy it now" for $130. for my ke25. This is an excellent deal, the front screen rubber is genuine parts, and the other 4 are really good, the door rubbers even have the clips in them, which is quite unusual for aftermarket rubbers. Just letting everyone know, this is an excellent way to save some $$$$ :)
  3. It has recently been said on this site that the ta22 pedals will "bolt straight in" , mine is all custom so i don't know if its true.
  4. You need to cut both the mounts off and reweld them, but with the celica mounts rewelding the standard corolla mounts is all that is required, if you scroll to the bottom of my link there is a few pics.
  5. The ta22 celica mounts are very similar to the corolla ones, but much stronger, these are the easiest to use i think. I usually hesitate to recomend them, because i thought they would not hold up, but its been a few years now and theyve held up great.
  6. I can tell you it is presently still legal in QLD, the engineer will usually require 4 wheel disk, (larger fronts) and a stronger diff and gearbox. The laws for the under 1100kg class are currently under review in QLD, so sources tell me that within a few months, it is likely, cars like mine will no longer be able to be engineered.
  7. At powercruise i raced some cars to about 250ish (the speedo runs out at 180, and hits the stopper at about 220) in the ke30, thats when you find out how well them brakes work, i could not believe how well it pulls up.
  8. Once again compression ratio. The pistons are exactly what you will changing if you go to turbo from na, 10.5:1 is not all that turbo freindly. What i meant was people have got wiser, and for a street motor no longer go straight to the last oversize, because they now realize that the motor may require more than one rebuild in its life.
  9. forged pistons are not neccesary unless its turbo. Boring it out is old school, and stupid. Besides the difference in capacity would not even get close to two liters. You really need to do some research, especially towards your compression ratio, because neither 2t or 3t pistons would be suitable.
  10. The head wont fit on the 3tc bottom end, the valves will hit the pistons, which have an enormous mountain situated on them. The 2t pistons have a much smaller bump on them. If i remember correctly there is no point in putting a 3tc in instead of a 2tc because the factory power figures are almost the same. Just put the twin cam 1600 together, they are a much better head.
  11. definately not possible in QLD. Weight of vehicle times 2.5. A sr non turbo just scapes through in a ke25, so a turbo one is out of the question.
  12. There is one thing you have to do. Where the rod goes from the booster into the master cyl you need to make the depth of the new commo cyl one the same as the old rola one. This will affect your pedal feel. i did this by glueing a peice of metal in there. The difference is about 5mm from memory. :D
  13. ^^^^^^ You gotta stop racing them mopeds and 250s^^^^^^^^ cos that doesnt happen against a real bike.
  14. I think the winner for me would be my mates vs commo, it has a COME racing all alloy 400 cube in it, 25 grand worth of 600hp crate motor. It idles like a baby, you would hardly pick it, but when he nails it the 20s fry up in the first four gears. Its quite funny because the car looks so nice and only the decerning ear would pick up on the cubes through exhaust note, every man and his skyline wants a go. So we get to see some pretty shocked faces.
  15. I secound that. at least 14s would increase your options a hell of a lot.
  16. A commodore vn master will bolt straight to the ke55 booster, then at least you know the bias will be perfect. I have basically the same brakes as you, and they stop unbelieveable!
  17. a vn commo master cyl will bolt up to the 77' to 81' corolla booster. these are either 15/16 or 1".
  18. The lag difference would be very little. The reason i would have gone 2.5 is just cause of the the extra cutting and clutter you get in the bay for the bigger pipe, but its a 4a so youre not exactly short of room anyway. so good choice and good luck!
  19. Ive done it, got no pics but. You need move the pivot point. Do a bit of calculations to work out how to get the travel you need. I could probably jump under the dash and do a bit of quick measuring. you need a welder of course. I used a ta22 master cyl,.
  20. This is true, but to make the same power with half the boost, the turbo would be spooling up at about twice a properly sized turbo. Good choice if you want it to have max driveability like you said. I would go the 2.5 inch pipe, it would suit your situation and would minimally reduce lag. 3" is not necessary.
  21. Yep, the smaller pipe is good enough for any k series turbo setup. It is k series isnt it?. weather the motor would stay together on 10 depends on how perfect your tune is, it needs to be perfect. if it is non efi, don't do it. People normally only put cams in a turbo motor to get the best out of a turbo, eg. to get the least laggy setup with the most power. It is only a small power upgrade in most circumstances. If your setup is fullhouse like madrolla then hell yes you will do the cam.
  22. With only 4 psi the smaller pipe is definately a better idea. Although for 4 psi why would you even bother, run ten, it,ll live.
  23. I got the camry tube machined and welded onto the stock stub axel
  24. coilovers, believe me you will not bother to adjust them for the track, once you get the car sitting how you want it you will leave it. These guys are just trying to save you money, but if you want to do it, just do it. I have coilovers, i have adjusted them once in a year, only because i needed mods approval. There are much cheeper companies than hopper stoppers out there that are equal in quality. You don't listen, these are the shocks you want for more travel and shorter stroke, you just need to shorten your tube by a few inches. Changing bumpstops is not an upgrade, don't you own a hacksaw?
  25. caltrac bars most likely. :jamie:
