I'm guessing you are in SA? I think your best bet is to talk to your local transport department, or even an engineer. 2nd hand internet conjecture and hearsay is rarely correct and your best bet is to talk to someone who will be approving any paperwork you may need. There is so much variation between states that me (or anyone) giving you information correct for my (their) state could be completely wrong in another.

Ah I get ya now. Pretty much impossible to tell from an engine number. If it doesnt match the one on the 4ac then you'd have to assume its rego'd with the gze number. Is it mod plated?

Or take a pic, post here and someone will tell you. Or check the build plate, if its the stock engine.

No, all 4A engine numbers start with 4A. If the engine is running in a car it should be easy enough to tell. 4AC - carby, inlet and exhaust manifold on same side. 4AGE - fuel injected, inlet on drivers side, exhaust on passenger side (RWD) inlet on rear, exhaust front (FWD) 4AGZE - same as 4AGE except on the GZE under the inlet manifold there is a supercharger.

I had a flat top 5K and dropped a dished piston 4k-U head on it. Put a massive cam in it. I never got it running but the guy who did said it was a bit of fun till it blew head gaskets and all the clearances went to shit haha. Must have been 11:1 or higher. Wish I had followed through and got it running.

I'll make it work. Thinking of a mild comp twin carb 4AGE just for a cruiser/peppy bit of fun. Cart springs are the only real downside I can see. I'm sure theres some bits I can use to make them work pretty good.

I have been inspired. Gonna sell the KE70 and get a KE35.

Everything is identical, the only slight differences is the 4K engine might have emissions crap on the carby. A lot of guys ill use the 3K carby as it doesnt have it.
