should i take off my door strips? or leave them there so i don't need to wrap my car in bubblewrap when i park it....??? will it leave a sticky stripe across the panels? same with pinstriping.... whats the best method to remove 20yo pinstriping?

Does anyone know where Toyota printed/inscribed the transmission & differential codes on their transmissions & differentials? I've had a (quick) glance under my car to look for them, but due to the level of mud & dirt that has built up there, I'm not sure if I'm looking in the right places. NOTE: This is for a KE55 Corolla. I think it has standard diff (I don't know what code that's meant to be) but I'm not sure what sort of gearbox it has. Any help is appreciated.

Picked up a 5K electronic dizzy on ebay recently for just $ 50.00 in excellent condition. It is a Nippon Denso unit with 5K-C on the Toyota label on it. It is the electronic dizzy with the ignitor built-in. The plug to it has only two connections. One presumably goes to +12V ignition & the other to the +ve side of the coil. One wire is black with a red stripe on it, the other is black only. I presume the red stripe is +12V ignition & the black one goes to the coil. Can any one confirm, who has a 5K wiring diagram, showing the electronic dizzy connections ? Does anyone know of the original 5K coil primary resistance specs ? What other low resistance pr…

how do i get the lil centre hubcaps off the front of my ke70 without damaging them? got some wheelstuds today, wanna put them in. who was it thats done this before, i've seen the pics of the painted struts, etc off a ke70 in the public upload directory

After searching for a long time to try and find some interchangeable rear end parts for my te27, I found this site. http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/stepho/diff.htm It takes you straight to rear ends, but check the rest of the site out, its got lots of info on JDM parts, and a brief history of toyota.

My 4K-U has a double crankshaft pulley. All one piece. The rear pulley is slightly larger than the front one. The rear one drives the usual water pump & alternator. Question ? What was the front one used for. Did some corolla's with 4K-Us have power steering or maybe airconditioning ? Would be interested to know. :D

Does anyone remember seeing the ke20 / ke15 with the injected 5k turbo engine in it? i think the picture of it is between two skylines??? Any one 'member? :dry:

OK time to show my ignorance for all things mechanical. I've got 3 holes that I don't know what to do with (keep it clean :dry: ) I've attached the pics with arrows showing where they are. When you all have finished laughing at my total lack of knowledge and have composed yourselves please advise what to do with them or what to attach them to. Thanks Oh and its a 3k in a KE30 that still needs a lot of work :sad:

On the weekend, while tinkering with my 5k, I got thinking??? With the K series engines, 3k, 4k, 5k… With the heads all being different sizes, wouldn't the blocks all be the exact same??? :D

Firstly, yes I have searched for the subject to no avail. Still having some trouble in the cold mornings. I don't have a manual so could someone tell me what it says about choke/throttle adjustment. IE how much should the choke linkage open the throttle when the choke is applied.

Can some knowlegable person please tell me the correct pressure cap for a KE30. Yes I have tried a search and looked at WiKi.

ok, this is a little too vauge to post in for sale; i'm going to california next month to get my cricket; when there i have lots of stuff of interest; 4KE EFI bits 2X bigport 3K heads; one rebuilt, used for one week, shaved A LOT, the other has a burnt valve, been in a trunk since 1980 4KC head, ported electric dizzy 12" ke15 sprinter hubcaps I am in the U.S so shipping will be higher, but i saw a chart today and it really didn't seem too bad. i have $200usd in the rebuilt head, i will sell it for 100usd+shipping, the other bigport, just give me 10bucks us and shipping make offers on everything else. let me know befor the first of july so i know what to bring back

Hello all, Could some body please scan and e-mail me the rebuild procedure + pix for the carby off my ke20, My carby kit is not the right one and it fell apart when i pull the two main bolts out of it... so i am ...... without help..... thanks :P

My Starlet EFI manual has turned up from the US and it is a GENUINE toyota repair manual and it's like new, has everything including ALL the efi stuff, from fault codes to pin outs and everything in between. if you need anything scanned off just PM me. :P

Yes, thats right, I wanna know what the specs are for the engine timing. I don't see any specs in the FAQ, maybe it should be something that should be added and maybe also add how much advance you cang et out of the car to give it a bit more power? I'm running at 5 degrees BTDC but i reckon it could perform much better. Anyone got the specs?

got a problem with the electrics started the car the other day and i have no gauges on the dash and no warning lights on the dash so what i would like to know is where else apart from the fuse box near the battery, where is the other one(if there is another one). Help would be more than appreciatted. Chris

Hello, ive just installed a 3k and 5 speed box into my 1968 toyota corolla. I encountered a problem when i realised that my stock ke10 tailshaft doesnt fit the 5 speed. So i ventured to the wreckers and bought a ke70 tailshaft (which is two piece; Unuseable). I bought this coz the spline off this tailshaft fits the 5 speed output shaft. i was going to take apart the uni and use it on my stock ke10 driveshaft, but alas, the uni is a different size and can't be swapped. All i need to know is what one piece tailshaft from later model corollas will fit the output shaft on my 5 speed, so i can get one and cut it down to fit my ke10. Hi iv seen a 4kc engine for sale with a recond head for 350 bucks i have a ke35 coupe with a 3k motor that needs a head recon so is this 4kc engine anygood and will it bolt up to my gearbox on my ke35

G"day guys the nightmare cotinues. The starter on the 7k has always been tight. It would generally start first throw. Now it has locked up and will not kick over. I"ve taken it out and it seems ok when i test it. I don't know if this is even the correct starter for the block and flywheel combination. a 4k starter doesn't fit the body is to big :D

need a radiator for my KE30 and wanna do it cheap out of the paper or something. which model corollas can I get a radiator out of ? ke55? ke70? etc if anyone has one in perth ill grab it up

heg peoples i fixed my spark plug tube o ring leaks (by getting new o rings), anyway there is now a leak coming from somewhere near the bottom of the engine. unsure what it might be and was wondering if there was a common place the 4K leaks! thanks! was thinking possibly sump gasgate however not sure!

Hi every body just call me Ramsay i live in Hervery Bay and still have lots to learn about motors just rollas in general. I drive a 1999 rolla seca 4 afe motor its a bit slow at the moment plaining on fitting a 4agze if possible. I just put a set of 16 inchs speedies on I'm goin to lower it asap hate the body roll. I also have a sound system in it a set of splits in the front and two 12 inchs subs.

Basically i'm interested in finding out whether there are similarities, given i've done a quick search and could find little on the topic. Could a twin manifold from a datsun 1200, fit a 3/4k head?? As a seller on Ebay mentions that his twin weber manifold does fit a 3/4k. Regards.

I've found this on ebay in the states, it's some material that nasa uses for gaskets, meant to be a great insualator between the head and the intake manifold, keeping the temperatures lower and air densities up. Hey guys, I've been trying solve my problem for while now with no luck I have replaced TPS,Coils&Igntion, Spark plugs, leads are good, fuel pump It would only rev to 4000 revs and just bounce there and miss throttle sometimes, when i unplug TPS the problem is gone but doesnt run the smoothest With fuel pump is it ok to have it hooked up to ignition ?

Hey guys I'm looking at a very cheap liteace van and was just wondering if anyone knew the years that the Liteace had the 5K motor in it? I've tried searching and google but haven't found anything.
