Hey all (to those who have a carburetor on there motor) Well, you know what its like in the mornings sometimes... the car just doesn't wanta start? Well, i was thinking.. you know how when the intlet manifold is cold, the fuel get *stuck* (if thats the correct language) on the inside of it... (when it warms up, it flows nicely) - would it be possible to create an *inlet manifold warmer* ? - I know people are now saying *derrr just use the choke* - but when i use the choke (as in pull out lever 5mm) - the motor floods it self and just stops. Not to mention the un-nessary fuel consumption  Here is a pic to what i mean (i think ive got the f…

What diff should i go for when I do my engine conversion people?, apparently F series are a lot stronger, but a bit wider than a T series? F series come with disc brakes? Can get LSD centres cheaper for F series than for a T series? I was always under the impression that T series would be more than sufficient, but had someone mention to me that they had already blown 2 T series diffs behind a 4AGE.. :imstupid:

i used to have to run 42psi because i had 185 tyres on 4.5" rims. silly me. now i have some nice wide 6s, i have done a little experimenting with 42psi in the back, the car just bounces around alot. with 38psi it will spin the wheels at first but seems to get more grip and arc up once traction is gained. today i lowered them to 36psi, not a huge difference but i didn't get up it much i raised the fronts from 28psi to 36psi, steering response was noticably improved, the car noses down less, i guess from less sidewall flex? i think less bump steer as i drive around on our shitty nsw roads too so what are some general rules and theories for tyre pressures? what s…

ive been doing some sideways dirt/gravel action this week and i'm sick of my bonnet popping open the first step, because one day it's going to open all the way i got myself some bonnet pins today, i'll probably copy nikki and install them in place of the existing rubber stops fook, what did you use for rubber stops on yours? it was a leaf eye bush chopped in half wasn't it? anybody else got some tips or handy ideas for installing them? i'm guessing measure lots of times and drill small pilot holes for everything first so i get my positioning right. any other help?

So my waterpump has decided to take a shit. It seems like its leaking internally and coming out the little drainhole in the bottom so its rather rooted. Is there anything i should know before i go tearing shit apart?? Luckily I kept the whole pump and fan assembly from my old engine so i should be able to just whack it on.

Hey guys, I'm not gonna fark around with the car anymore and basically just trying to get it on the road working and running... so time has come to put some new brake pads in.... This is what I have been told to do: 1, take wheels off 2, take calipers off 3, Suspend calipers so they don't hang from brake lines 4, unclip clips and remove brake pad 5, use a clamp to put piston in 6, put new pads in 7, redo clips, bolt calipers back on and put wheel on... The end.... or is it? Anything I missed ? If anyone knows how to do it... please tell me.. or even give me a hand pretty please.

Righty-o, this is the story: As you all know, I'll be changing my diff soon, and along with that I'll need to be modifying my tailshaft to accommodate the new diff. Am hoping to get it all done by the end of next week, so wheels need to start turning :) Anyway, at the moment I'm running a Celica TA22 T50 gearbox, which has the same output spline as the K40/K50 gearboxes so I'm using the stock tailshaft. When I change the diff, I'm going to be *hopefully - I need to find one first!* also changing gearboxes to the AE86 T50 gearbox which will hopefully solve my never ending gearbox woes... The AE86 T50 has a different output spline, so I will need the matching yok…

Photos of diff and brakes Here is a pic of the diff as a whole: And the brakes: First things first, will be stripping the diff to make sure it's the correct diff...

Found this on the Datto1200 site (infinite source of fun): http://datsun1200.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=2441 Can't post pic here unfortunately, the site doesn't quite allow linking of photos but you can see it with the link :) Thought it was rather neat, especially for diffs (gearboxes you can usually fill them from the shifter hole if it's a RWD...)

Hello I have a question. You know how it is possible to bore out the cylinder displacement - Eg. 1300cc to a 1400cc - well, is possible to bore out the size of the valves? - (and replace with larger valves) Just an idea... (oh and the spelling fairy checker says theres no mistakes :D)
