  1. To give accurate advice on the conversion you really need to tell us what the 1600cc motor is! Converting to a carb fed 2tg would be a lot easier and cheaper than a fuel injected 4age!
  2. Best looking 4age I've ever seen! :P
  3. 40mm would be half the head....maybe 40 thou? Have a read of "how to build a tough k motor" in the faq ;)
  4. Are you sure you put the clutch plate in the right way round?
  5. Some hiluxs have 5x114, which would give you 5 stud and a diff upgrade in one. As for the front if you're crafty enough you could convert the struts to some thing like s4/5 rx7, s14/s15 or even falcon which would all give you 5x114 at the front too.
  6. need to remove gearbox, clutch and flywheel. Would also be much easier to do with the engine out of the car.
  7. Either that or report it stolen at get the car back for free! ......Jk You should be able to give a statutory deceleration of notice of disposal to transport.
  8. Km36 liteaces......and forklifts! Try ringing around commercial wreckers.
  9. I've got some 27mm bolt on spacer for sale!
  10. Nope, I've used a normal 4k starter as well as my 5k reduction starter with my 7k. Iirc camtech have hydro listing on there online catalogue for 5k's...which can also be used for a 7k.
  11. Top right corner, box with 4 white squares. Oh well whens the next test and tune? I might try and make it out to race in mine as well. Not that I should be much competition to yours.
  12. I used a pajero one in my 55. Was long enough to come round from behind the motor and under the fuel rail. Even bolted straight up to the fly wheel. I did get the cable shortened by about an inch though.
  13. Check your pm's then I sent you my mobile number last night. Come grab it tonight if you need it!
  14. Friday would probably be better. How about you just borrow it for now....see if you actually use it and we'll work it out then. Actually I might drop it up for you, should really talk to your dad about that pug. What time would you be home?
  15. Never ended up fitting mine as I ended up with a k-t instead. I took a tail shaft to a mechanic and he reckoned it could be done with some old holden uni.
  16. No can do...as above, you need a 55 style k50 extension housing.
  17. yes they are. You can buy bosch super sport plug lead sets from super cheap. Or pretty sure bursons also do top gun sets.
  18. Yeah right, wouldn't mind heading out for a look but don't know if I'll get there. Would love to race myself but mind off the road for a comp raise at the moment.
  19. Jap or aus diff? Could do 1 aus axle in launy.
  20. With a 5k (200mm) flywheel you would have to use a ae71 kit and the pressure plate fouls on the bh of a cable k-t. Use a 3k or 4k 180mm flywheel and clutch kit and it will fit.
  21. Don't they sell cut & polish in the states? :P .....not that I can really talk.
  22. You could also just go old school and instal a cable operated system. My first 55 had one installed by the previous owner, was really quite simple. Other member here have also adapted ke70 cable boot poppers in earlier cars.
  23. I'm running an unmodified oil pump and get up to 80 psi max when cold, it will then drop back to 60-70 psi (at revs) once its warmed up. When exactly are you seeing 80 psi? Other thing is I struggle to understand how high oil pressure would blow a had gasket when there's less area than a 5 centre piece under oil pressure! Plus from memory its between pots 1 & 2....nowhere near 3 were you reckon its blown this time.
  24. I now won't use anything but genuine toyota head gaskets. They've held over 20 psi for me. Actually have one to scrape off the block still as they seal so well!
  25. Don't know if you've got this sorted yet krem?.... The ballast resistor circuit is the one that is working! Its the "start" direct 12v circuit that isn't. There will be 2x wires going to the coil +, the one that isn't connected to the ballast resistor is the start circuit. Test it is connected properly and has power when cranking, if not track back from there. The fact that it actually turns over would indicate its not a barrel issue. I would have a look for you but don't get out to d'port very often. I'm sure kendrick could easily fix it for you given the ignition conversion stuff he did in the 808.
