Aren't the starlet ones further forward too? Might give you a bit broader options being in NZ.

Blue Thing: The Daily / Motorkhana Hack (Now Efi)

ok then they will definitely need a quick hot soapy water wash before putting em in. How much glad wrap do you have? You'd be suprized how much fine dust will get into an open clean block.- 539 replies

Not stressed about figures. The old "seat of your pants" dyno and 1/4mile trap speed are the only dynos that matter anyway. It's a daily so it needs to behave and get good economy too.

Well, how'd old TAR go?

You cheated and bought new ones didn't you!! How long until you assemble the bottom end?- 539 replies

Oh yeah thats right. really only 125 on 18psi? I would have thought she'd make more than that. Not that 125rwkw in a 950ish kg car is slow by any stretch. FYI thats around 135kw/1000kg pretty much bang on the same as an E36 M3.

Not getting old mate at Bridgestone Launy to tune it? I'll make a guess. 120-125rwkw on 10psi and 165-180rwkw on 18-20psi.

Just Bought A 5K.. Now What The Hell Has Been Done To It?

That is dead set, the dodgiest engine mod I've ever seen!! What makes you say it's a hydro cam? -
Feral4K and I were discussing this topic of people blowing over non "hetic JDM threads" Sunday. Just change the thread title to "JDM Ke-20 with moar flat cap ca-18 drift hack". Watch the comments and views fly then! Hahaha Back to topic. Nice job on the fuel system, hard lines that size are a pain! Try doing them out of 5/8" food grade stainless! God that was fun(ye old sand bending techniques helped heaps that day) I'm going full teflon braid for my 11, it's dearer but will take me a couple of hours compared to a couple of days to do. I can't see it being too difficult to make 500hp on 98 let alone cheat85. How big are the camshafts?

Ah sim's old wagon. That motor ended up in a mates rx7, which was then sold to some guy in sydney.

Looking awesome guys. Those ports are HUGE!!

There was also a whisper that 3F landcruiser lifters also worked with 4k stuff but not sure if it was 4k-u or 4k-c stuff. my bigport which is 1mm shorter than yours is right on the limit of what I'd be happy with(rocker geometry wise). There was a complete genuine 5k solid setup on "trade me" in NZ recently. Was asking $200 for the lot lifters, pushrods, rockers and cam. Was second hand though.
-
haha that was quick!! Ok I'm fairly certain I have a savagely decked 3k bigport at home that will be pretty close. I'll chuck it on my 5k I have on a stand and take some measurements for you. Ill be home in a couple of hours.
-
4k solid lifters are way too small in diameter. Can you run a vernier caliper or a steel rule from deck face to rocker face on your 5k head? I can then hopefully see if the chev/holden lifters and datsun A12 pusgrods will work. from memory 5K heads are pretty short so it may screw with rocker geometry.

anything pre E6X runs on DOS, E6X and later run on windows.

I've got one sitting in it's packet I'm probably not going to use Jimmy. I bought a copper one from Tazrx. It's yours if you want it?

Should be around the thermostat housing on the front of the head.

Yep. 7k conrods look fairly fragile compared to 5k ones. Not sure if they are weaker or just look skinnier, I've never owned a 7k.

Are you talking about the blue lines Keith? That was my first run/tune. It had std 7k injectors and fuel pressure reg. You're bang on the money had a massive lean spot, it was lean everywhere but that point was the worst of it. I had all corresponding tune pots maxed and had the max timing set to 18deg btdc. The red lines were my second dig at it with a rising rate reg and a set of bigport 4age injectors fitted. Timing was lifted to 28deg btdc and had plenty of fuel! Both runs on 9psi. In hindsight I should have kept that setup and fitted a proper ecu with ignition control. Geez it was fun! It made 5th pull like 3rd in my old twin su 5k!

If you're wanting to put a positive displacement supercharger on, I'd definitely leave the stroke where it is. When you see the torque curve of a blown K motor you'll understand. I had a big blower cam in my old 5k, it would never pull power past 5,500rpm but geez it had some torque. Dyno sheet is in pdf somewhere in here. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/9733-my-white-ke-11/page__st__45

Looks like a fun car! You'll be surprised how much a set of big cams unleash the fury! A GZE I built with the same turbo makes 300rwkw on 32psi with a set of 300+deg cams. But thats a 98 fuel engine with a water/meth spray to help things. So I'd imagine, with the 200cc extra capacity and E85 fuel, 300rwkw should be quite obtainable with some smaller cams and a bit less boost. Good luck to any of those cars you raced at powercruise then!! Haha

How much power are you looking to make? Do you still need to run a restricted turbo in IPRA?
