  1. Grave dig!!! So what's happening with this mate?? Should have a thread up with my new cafe racer project in the next few days.
  2. +1 from me! I don't mind kicking in, Rollaclub has given me so much information/entertainment over the last 7-8 years I'm happy to donate too.
  3. Hows the comp increase treating you?
  4. Your 20 would have to be around 2500lb now with the 6 in it? My moroso slide rule says for a 2500lb car with 400-450fwhp should be around 10.1-10.5 @130-135mph.
  5. How much coin are you wanting to spend? I'll send a pm with my contact deets when I get home, and we can have a chat. Stu.
  6. Sounds like the float needle might be a little stuck, or incorrectly adjusted(I've never pulled an aisin carb apart so not sure if there adjustable). Could try giving it a light tap with a small rubber mallet around the float bowl area. This worked a treat for my old rm250 dirk bike if it sat for a while.
  7. It's been done. TCCAV has a member with a 2J powered 928. Very cool car.
  8. Webers are ssooo much easier to get your low rpm and low/part throttle perfect. I've tuned both and id I'd have a DCOE style carb over a bike carb any day.
  9. The datsun 1600 of my dads,I'm doing the rear end of atm is a POS. Please tell me the celica setup is better than that? I'm currently doing adjustable trailing arm mounts, in the hopes I can lose the huge amounts of geometry change, through the wheel travel. Sorry back on topic. Cam cover looks awesome! Any chance on running either cars down south in Mexico? I'd love to see your handy work in person.
  10. Is probably what I will go to when I ditch that pesky 200mm set up and run some boost. Stu, a sprung button is a fair bit easier to deal with on a daily. But I'd still have a chat with that guy you got your brakes from to see what they can do.
  11. Isn't Penrite and AUS made/only brand? If you have access to this oil, HPR GAS is what you need. Being the 4k has a "flat tappet cam"(hydro or solid) I'd be leaning towards a mineral based oil over a synthetic based oil. Most of the synthetic based oils like mobil1 are way too thin and lack the lead content to adequately lubricate the camshaft and lifters.
  12. The lack of rwd gearbox and cost for the GTR motor is a huge downside. After seeing more than half of the GTR's NOT finish the targa tasmania rally with mainly engine problems. They're just too fragile per $ cost IMO. The 370Z engine is probably a little easier to fit(being it's already rwd not awd) and less expensive to buy. Being a Renault designed engine, your getting their F1 knowledge. But I think the S2000 engine is the pick of the three mate. In my opinion it's the best naturally aspirated 4 cylinder engine produced to date.
  13. Is your clutch a spung or solid center Si?
  14. I did a remote mount resi setup for my old mans 1600. Did it for around $120 all up, which was almost 1/10th of the cost of a Tilton billet resi setup. That was for two, but three wouldn't be hard. Pics are on the first page here. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/56334-the-dirty-datto-1600/page__pid__663695__st__30#entry663695
  15. Could get one through my wholesaler if needed. Got a cheap bottle fill contact too.
  16. Unless the gap between the pushrod and the rocker is 5-5.5mm, the 6mm longer pushrod will give you way too much preload on the lifter. I'd imagine that much it would keep the valve open. Easiest way to get it back is to have someone handy in a milling machine knock a little off the rocker posts that bolt to the head. How loose is the pushrod when the cam is on its base circle(at the bottom)? If that's still my old cam and lifters they were quiet as a mouse in the old twin carb'd setup.
  17. Tell me your not becoming a farmer and buying a tractor!!!!!
  18. Haha near year grave dig!! Totally forgot about this thread. Thanks for the photo Subaru_kid. It's pretty fun considering we've done little with setup in the rear end. Speaking of rear end, before I pulled the entire rear end out of it to mod for new exhaust(it goes through the rear crossmember) I checked and measured settings as the wheel moved through it's travel and geez if it doesn't change in all aspects! This will be rectified in the near future, we are considering a few options. We'll start with moving trailing arm mount points, if that doesn't help we'll change it out for an Alfa "de-dion". Even with the crazy new front end, it's not the epic handling car everyone claims them to be. should have it on the dyno in a few weeks. Just going to wind 10psi into it and check mixtures. I'll post some photos of what's been happening tomorrow.
  19. Dang, even the brackets say HKS on them. It's nice having machinery at your disposal. Although we have very little in the way of engine reco machinery at work except for a sunnen pin hone.
  20. What if we turned "ke-70", "ke70" and or "sev" to either "tissue box" or "kleenex"? Works for me.
  21. Apologies your right I just checked wiki. not sure why I thought they were 78mm. Dang thats a heap to take out then. It's now changed me that's a good price. I'd also be starting to think about sonic testing a block thats getting bored that big.
  22. I'd agree, it's pretty reasonable, not cheap but not stupidly dear. Its only .100" over though. 4k = 78mm std and 5k = 80.5mm std.
