  1. Oh yeah, forgot about the lack of 1/4 tracks in Tas.
  2. Been wondering when you'd post up the update. They'll be calling Jimi the 1UZ guru soon.
  3. So I gather drill bits and hole saws are the rally car builders most used tools. Haha.
  4. It all becomes easy the second and third time you do them. Those innovate wide bands can't be beat for dollar verses performance. Just bought two myself, the inbuilt controller and E85 compliant were what sold me. FYI they read every bit as fast as the $400-700(AUS made)Tech edge ones. I would have done the ignition map the same as your first one. Every setup/tune I've seen done or done myself has started with initial base timing, then done the advance curve. But hey, what ever works I spose. Good to see your getting your head around it, there is a chance I'll have to do one of these things soon, so this thread will help with those why can't I get it right moments! You may end up getting the "so why is this msd thing doing this?" Phone calls. Haha.
  5. Never bothered with DCR's, always gone off static comp. That is a reasonable sized camshaft, I wouldn't be scared to run 11-11.2:1 with that cam and 98 fuel. I personally wouldn't be to stressed at what the yanks do. Highest pump octane they run is 93. But then again I'm pretty sure they rate octane differently.
  6. New wheels look perfect!! I got around the whole pod filter deal with the FJ in the datto by having it listed on my engineers cert. Looks close now Matt, back on the road soon?
  7. I really should have run the blown setup. New owner may, be good to see what it'd run in a heavy weight 55!! I will definatly beat the bugeebus out of the turbo setup! Cheat85, anti-lag and all that fun stuff!!
  8. Seems such a shame to hide that anodized billet Tremec shifter plate. Alpine classic rally was an awesome event entrant wise. Everything from 2 131 abarths, a 240RS(only fj20 powered) and more YB and BDA powered escorts than you can poke a stick at. Sadly only one Toyota. I'll try and find the photos from scrutiny.
  9. That's for sure!!! I'm waiting for the "it's not THAT nice up close."
  10. Sorry Adam it wasn't a dig aimed at you(wasn't worded correctly). That is actually quite a good idea, might have to do It today. The BP is always way too full normally and it seems to get larger every year. It's a good idea to try somewhere else
  11. What about those that aren't interested in wasting their time with bookface?
  12. Sorry for the re-reply but I believe this is a more appropriate reply.
  13. If it's already Qld mod plated you SHOULD be right. A good mates 400 chev powered LC torana breezed Vic reg with the mod plate an a roady. I've never payed more than $900 for a cert. I've had a few done both pre and post ncop too.
  14. I'll take the air filter off the 11 tomorrow and throw mine back on(filter on std aisin carb hits it). It's a custom one my boss made years ago but it shouldn't be hard to replicate. Only difference I see is center bar length between 1x and 2x.
  15. Can you post a photo of said boss kit Styler? If I can grab it in a lathe chuck I may be able to help. Shouldn't be too hard.
  16. Yes they may be dearer, but they actually fit. I know I'd be happier to pay way more for something that worked.
  17. What has been seen cannot be unseen!!
  18. Your right. Most clubs are just happy to get more members. A good friend of mine takes his 320rwkw sr powered Westfield 7 to a lot of Porsche club days, mainly because 968 isn't finished yet. Most of the Porsche owners love it.
  19. Good to see it's sorted bro!!
  20. Nice pick up on the GTI Tas! Don't see them that clean too often these days.
  21. Thanks Stu!! Yup plenty of jimmy cans and some RC drink driving!!! Always happy to help.
  22. Yep scetchy = fun!!! Tommy's motor makes really good power for what it is. No forgies or spool conrods. A little bit of intelligence goes a long way.
