  1. I'm fairly sure its something like this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Festoon-Car-Interior-Dome-Reading-Light-Bulbs-Filament-Globes-12V-10W-31mm-Clear-/251372651677?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a86fa449d&_uhb=1 But you can buy them at supercheap auto for cheap as. Just check the length of where the bulb goes and see if the length is about right.
  2. I used hardy for something a few years ago, bearings I think, really helpful.
  3. What bolt did you use for the LCA? If the track gets too much, R31 LCAs bolt in, and are like 20mm shorter.
  4. Are you using an ipad to take that video.
  5. ah i see, yeah best of getting a small port ecu or go the aftermarket ecu. here is one! http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/4age-smallport-16v-ECU-AE93-E92-Corolla-SX-GTi-/171317808606?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27e3564dde&_uhb=1
  6. I didn't think that the difference in the big port and small port cams was enough to warrant swapping big port cams in? You will have to adjust the shims if you do swap them. Here is a thread that discusses this: http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/tech-conversions/36502-4age-big-port-cams-small-port-head.html The smallport distributor is different than the bigport distributor so you won't be able to just plug it in. The smallport has a higher compression ratio, the bigport has TVIS. I thought the injectors were different too.... I wouldnt be trying to make it work, it will most likely cause more troubles than its worth. What is wrong with your smallport engine as it is? The smallports rev go harder in the high rpms than the bigports, but the big ports have more grunt down in the lower rpms.
  7. Fact is most mechanics don't want to touch engine conversions. What you are looking for is a sort of performance shop, race preparation shop, or even a car restoration shop, as they are happy to deal with custom jobs. Ke55 is not the most standard 4age conversion so the costs will be very high, and in my opinion the wiring is the least of your worries. Hard/expensive parts will be custom gearbox and engine mounts, custom driveshaft. And yes you see alot of people with wiring issues, but you don't hear about the 4age wiring that is done properly (like mine, 6 wires to run a 4age engine in a ke70, did it in a few hours and it was fine for years).
  8. That was awesome, and part 2 was good too. Thanks for sharing. No doubt the TE27 is the pick of the bunch. And I didn't realise the Toyota 1600gt existed, what a cool car.
  9. I don't think you are going to find what you are looking for, and if you do I bet the cost will be unjustifiable.
  10. I wonder how close a ka24de map would be. You would have to calibrate all your sensors and set your trigger pattern, but i bet the fuel map and spark map would be good enough to get it running?
  11. Factory gear knob:) looks good though, plenty of go fast bits there, proper 2 way LSD too, much better than the common locker. Does it have a rear sway bar too? as a "HUGE" front sway bar with no matching rear bar won't be much fun?
  12. E8 is a great ECU, ive been playing with one of them. Software is nice to use too. if you get the E8, make sure you update the firmware to the latest, and you MUST use the correct software for the firmware edition on the ecu itself.
  13. On my way to the airport for another 2 week stint in the desert......sigh
  14. yeah I'd be looking at the engine/gearbox mounts for starters. Pretty easy to chech, hold the brakes on and get a mate to watch.l the engine while you slowly let out the clutch. (With your mate standing out of the way if the car does lunge forward by mistake) Smokers car, good luck.....you could pull the entire interior out (seat, door trimss and carpet) and pressure wash it. I bet it still smells like smoke after though.

I'm afraid all I can offer is pit crew at the track.
  16. yeah one week on and seems to be all good!
  17. If you are replacing them, I wonder if its worth using hex cap head screws. I always found them to be a pain in the butt to get with the socket wrench, an alen key might be easier?
  18. yeah he put those 180degree headers on to "make it sound like a ferrari" sounds a bit buzzy to me.
  19. Heres that crazy v8 corolla that pops up every now and then:
  20. Well i thought id close this one out, as everyone loves some photos. Pretty good success, the stuff took longer to mix up and way longer to harden than the packet suggested, i suspect cause it was quite cold in my garage. I left it from about 9am till 5pm, and it was still a bit tacky. Here is the area after some sanding and cleaning with the alcohol wipe. See the hole? yeah me neither, its sort of right on the crease, i couldn't see it even after i sanded it. Here is me getting enthusiastic with the putty, i sort of maybe put it all on.....i squished it out much more than this after photo was taken. and here is the final product, what a freakin mess. (no photos between as i was working fast and that black crap gets on your hands and is like tar! Not the easiest applying fibreglass upside down.
  21. yeah the permatex one apparnetly has a fibreglass cloth in it. I'll go grab one of those permatex kits this morning and have a go. Worst part is I litterllay just filled up my other car when i discovered the leak, so i had to get rid of 20L of petrol and i only have a 5L jerry can! Luckily mate was in the area and he scored some free fuel....
  22. Discovered a hole in wifes AE112 corolla fuel tank today, its on a crease in the tank in an easy to get to place, seems like an odd place, tiny tiny hole, can't really see the hole, but petrol sure seeps out when you wipe it clean with a rag. Emptied out the fuel this arvo in anticipation for removing the tank, but my mate mentioned this: http://www.permatex.com/products-2/product-categories/specialized-maintenance-repair/professional-repair-systems/permatex-fuel-tank-repair-kit-detail about $30 at supercheap. Anyone used one? Seems fairly reasonable.
  23. Haha, and I can't freakin' wait to get out of this place..... I'll get back to you about a day next week, I'll have to check the diary, she'll no doubt have some things planned for me for when I get back.
  24. Greetings Peter, my dad is a marine electrician and he has seen many yatchs like yours, so you're not alone ;) How modified is the car you are looking at? Does it have any modifications that require engineering plates/certificates? Generally I think when buying interstate its best to look at worst case scenario. If none of the engineering/mod plates were valid in your state, what would you have to do to get it registered in your state? Once you figure that out and are prepared to pay for whatever needs doing, then anything that is not required is a bonus! 1970s 2 door coupe hey, corolla? or something more exotic?
