  1. However when i had the 3k carby on my 4k it was woefully slow and something was wrong. I suggest putting the 4k jets into the 3k carby.
  2. nice updates! the black door cards are quite nice on the spoontahs. power windows or manual? I'll send through an update on the ol Airbox today or tomorrow ;)
  3. Geez thats nasty.. that bull bar has made mince ke70.
  4. Lots and lots of work for what a WRX (or RX for Non turbo) already does 100x better.
  5. What parts? The only difference between any of the ke70s in Australia is weather they are flat front or slanty front. Other than they are all identical.
  6. I had a thought last night with the airbox. It might be worth installing a place where you can hook up a vacuum pipe. Then you could hook it up to your ecu via a second map sensor and log the inlet manifold pressure to see if you are getting any pressure drop/restriction over the air filter. You could even install your air temp sensor in it too. The air temp sensor from a GM car would fit real nice (~vs commondore have a nice flush sensor, I've go one here somewhere)
  7. yeah thats very nice. so shiny! I prefer those minilites over the work equips though, but hey the works look alright too!
  8. yeah you would need a blue plate for the recaros or basically any different seat you install. LK1 or LK2 http://www.dbautotech.com.au/id3.html
  9. yeah i would just stick with the ones you have. Surely you can get various brands of the mk1 VW shock to suit your current spindles. when i made my coilovers i machined up a sort of an adaptor as the shock i used had a slightly different top than the original corolla shock (note these were ae86 shock tubes with sw20 mr2 shocks i think). It was just to make the gland nut fit nice and snug around the shock absorber. I don't know much about drag racing, so i'm not sure how much suspension rebound you want on the front wheels. But basically where you cut the shock tube will dictate where the shock sits at static height (and how much compression/bump length you have), and if you decide you need to sit the shock a bit higher you will need a spacer on the bottom (i used a bit of brass machined up as my spacer).
  10. Only if you do it wrong the first time ;) HOT DAMN that is a sweet car.
  11. Lookin good. I'd be weary of panting seats too. I think you"ll be up for a welding job on that spare wheel well though! I sure do miss the days of playing with cars with mates like that!
  12. The Issue you have is that I'm fairly sure the ke20/25 shock tubes are too thin for ae92 shocks. Do you have the ID of your ke25 shocks? This link has an odd suggestion i haven't heard of before (pre supercharged mr2 shocks) for the thinner shocks. http://www.club-k.co.nz/Forums/viewthread.php?tid=27600
  13. I did once install a complete interior on a freshly painted completely stripped 86 shell including the complete body loom etc. It was the "JDM" red interior with that funky digital dash! That was a few years ago....
  14. yeah thats not a bad job at all over that diff. How long you reckon before you fire up the engine? I can't see any wires on the engine, so a bit of wiring ahead?
  15. I think the post in here by "deviousKA" (about 75% down the page) sums up some issues as well. http://forums.nicoclub.com/new-setup-wondering-what-to-do-for-fuel-management-t254146.html
  16. yeah you can pretty much finish the rest of it and even drive it like it is, so its not all bad. 1243 is like old school MG stuff i think.
  17. It might sound like a WRX though!
  18. mmm thats some damn good progress.
  19. Very good start mate! $400 is about the right price too, good buy. Got any pics of your rust?
  20. yeah I understand the difference between trigger points and tuning points. Sounds like the haltech E8 will accept 360, http://www.haltech.c...5_July_2008.pdf page 32 shows the built in trigger setups, "nissan type 1" i think is what you would select. You sure the wolf wont accept 360 points?
  21. yeah i can't recall any settings like that in the haltech, i got stuck one day with wiring and threw the distributor back in, and haven't had a chance to put the haltech back in again. Why don't you use the 360 slots and the +1? Then you will have bucketloads of trigger points at low rpm as well as the home signal?
  22. Interesting discussion in here, when i was running the haltech on my standard electronic distributor (suzuki G13a) i also had issues with cold starts and i suspected that 4 pulses for 2 revolutions on the crank was just not enough to get a good sync at cranking rpm... as for your cas up there, isnt one wire your trigger wire (x triggers per rotation), and the other wire is your home signal? (often just 1 trigger for TDC on cylinder 1)
  23. Buy complete sx corolla (they tend to sell for les than a 4age on its own! There was a complete ae82 sx for sale for like 1000$ not long ago) Park sx corolla next to yours, install everything from sx car onto your car. Fuel tank, fuel lines wiring, seats, suspension, brakes, complete engine bay. Even the interior will be an upgrade, seats and steering wheel etc. We did this to a mates celica (3sfe to 3sge conversion) lots of work, but a good outcome. Don't do it half assed (just the engine), you will forever be chasing issues.
  24. I didn't know aw10 was a thing:s How is it different to an aw11 besides the engine?
  25. Whats wrong with the seats? if they are any good just get a mod plate for them? or whatever the equivalent is in WA.
