Engineering my 4age in my ke70 cost me $70 and 30mins of time, no RWC required.

http://www.billzilla.org/4agmods.htm that's a fairly good overview. 2k wont get you very far though.

Should I Just Do The Turbo Now And Be Done With It?
ke70dave replied to crunk81us's topic in Automotive Discussion
Correct. -
I think the problem is, if they don't have a fine or some sort of deterent, knowone will abide by the laws. "hi you need H pattern on your gearstick, but we arent going to give you a defect for it, as thats a waste of everyones time, be a good boy and go and get one in your own time"
-
hmm its a bit retarded the H pattern requirement/law/fine. but you can see where they are coming from, someone needs to drive your car in an emergency, and they get all confused because they driven a car where the gears are in a different spot. try to keep it standard. There are even accounts where people have been done because the sticker isnt on top of the gearstick, which is rubbish as lots of cars have the H pattern stamped on the console somewhere, ie the s15. but i suspect there is mroe to these internet stories than what is usually given.

i wonder what the rules are on water injection. Pretty much the same concept as nos, except its just plain ordinary old water. and its not additional fuel, it just cools down whats being burnt....so you can add more timing!
-
whats the difference between carrying a bottle of NOS (with it disconnected), and carrying a bottle of LPG for your BBQ?

eftpos is also slower for numptys.... numpty hands over a 20 to pay for coffee, you give change. done. numpty fumbles around looking for a eftpos card, struggles to swipe it the correct way, it doesnt swipe because its got cracks in it, finally works gets pin number wrong twice. easier to say cash only to keep transaction time consistant. when i used to work at coles, back when checkout chicks were required and respected! we used to setup cash only checkouts to get things happening quicker. worked good.

Ke70 Suspension, Brakes, Braces, Seats, Everything Questions
ke70dave replied to ATOYOTA's topic in KE70 Technical Questions
rememeber that the legal requiremnt for track is measured from the centre of the wheels, not the edges. so you can potentially have some wider wheels, but not that much change in track. assuming you don't hit the strut on the other side. -
i find the mobile site pretty damn schmick on my htc desire. Even the full site loads fast enough. Both just in the normal "internet" app on android. what is the advantage of tapatalk anyway?

To much tax on cigarettes to change that though. Cigarettes have been shown extensively to be a major cause of cancer, so we are going to make the packaging plain that will stop them BUT FOR CRYING OUT LOUD GET RID OF ALL THE LEADED PETROL WE DON'T WANT ANYONE USING THAT STUFF BAN IT BAN IT! hmm people still buying cigarettes, you had better put them in a cupboard behind the counter, that will stop them.

coudlnt you get an approximate dynamic compression ratio from the info you already have? i don't have enough time ATM to have a crack at it. but if you worked out at what position your piston was in when both exhaust and intake are completely closed (which you can do from bore stroke and that camshaft sheet(, which would be Xmm above bottom dead centre, you would know aproximately how much air is being compressed? the static compression ratio just assumes that the whole cylinder is filled with air, which i woudlnt think is the case even on a standard camshaft. all these measuremnts need to be taken with a grain of salt though, as they don't take into account the volumetric efficiency of the engine. id take whatever value you get from the above calc and assume 80-85% VE perhaps as a guess. (big guess...but its an old engine after all) or have i gone made? its quite possible.

brisbane eh. id give these guys a call http://www.npcperformance.com.au/ from a few accounts, you can get them to build whatever you want. they might even be able to take your exedy clutch and just up the clamping force on it. sounds like a fun car thats for sure.
-
in fact, a VN commondore might be more of a drift can than a ke70, at least it might be able to spin the tyres in the dry!

i think you should do everything you have done to the blue car, to the cortina. man i love mk1 cortinas.

i don't think the blacktop or the silvertop would be a legal conversion for p plates. they never offered a silver or black top in australia for anything that comes with a 4afc (i assume you have an ae92 or an ae82?) you can put in the 16V though if you have either of those cars, as they were offered in that chassis in australia.

got any mroe photos of that jag? it looks...interseting.. at least it looks to be done half proper, appart from bastardising a classic, its not a bad effort. oh yeah, nice looking coilovers, can't complain about those welds. looking good.

Adm Ae71 Slip Yoke And Flange Yoke Part Numbers
ke70dave replied to Twincam16seca's topic in AExx Corolla Discussion
have you gone to see them? they can probably just match up what you have with what you have got there. if they can't do that there is company called dellowautomotive, http://www.dellowconversions.com.au/images/DellowAutomotive.pdf i had a mate buy some yokes for another project (toyota gearbox into a austin healy sprite), they just sent up the yokes and he got the tailshaft made locally. -
why not buy these and drill to suit? http://www.otomoto.com.au/p/4116516/hsd-universal-camber-top-kit.html measure twice, cut once. better use a drill press though, and a punch on the exact right spot to drill the hole.

WGMG- SUPER wide screen movies. I buy a 42" plasma tv, 1920x1080 res. all the blls and whistles. all youtubes and downloaded vids are all in 1920x1080p or whatever, looks great. yet you get these DVDs from the shop, and they don't show the top 15% of the screen or the bottom 15% of the screen. is it too much to ask that a proper bought DVD utilises 100% of my 16x9 screen??!?!

yeah true, that was my philosphy as well, not to mention i didnt have the capital to buy a ~$4k car, but i did have the capital to purchase parts over a long period of tiem. but if you know what you are doing, doesnt take much to fix up a dodgy conversion.
-
i did a ke70 4age conversion a few yrs ago. i bought the 4age head and block for $110. the rest of the parts i got for forum prices, bit by bit over about a 2 yr period. i got a proper exhaust done, a proper fuel sysetm (surge tank, 2 pumps etc) and bought new things when i could (clutch, hydraulic components, gaskets, hydraulic lines all new etc) i spent not much change from $3,000 by the time i was finished. can you make your own engine mounts for the sr20? that will be the killer in price if you can't. all depends on what bargains you can find. i suggest selling your car, and buying one that is already converted. no seriosly i do.

workign as an engineer nothing like studying. for starters you get paid alot to work as opposed to paying alot to study... the degree is to prove you can learn.
