  1. Volkswagen warranty. Puddle of water under the Toerag. Volkswagen Assist turn up, leaking around the water pump. Another man turns up with a tray truck, car disappears for 2.5 days, yet another man rings up to say its ready with a brand new water pump installed. Cost: $0 Having owned other manufacturers vehicles, and tried to get warranty claims out of them, this was too easy. Holden in particular you would have more chance of speaking to your dead relatives than you would of getting a claim through. Okay, I didn't get a loan car, which was a little inconvenient, but everything else was on the money.
  2. There's one in Bendigo that's a genuine SL, with 3K-B on the makers plate. Came in from PNG.
  3. I can confirm Irokin is not that man. He has to make do with $50's.
  4. From the rules that You have agreed to: Feel free to readvertise in a couple of days. :locked:
  5. The other place I'd look is on the left chassis rail as it goes under the firewall. They tend to rot there quite badly. If it's not gone too badly, grab it. :)
  6. For sale area in the classifieds is where this needs to be. Regards Mods.
  7. As per the forum rules, all items must have a price, if only to tell prospective swappers what you value your car at.
  8. No, I've always had the early front. I think it looks better. :) the owner before me put a late model grill and the strip across the front on and it just looks wrong. As far as I know they do. However you don't have the indicator in the garnish, as the lates have it in the guard, and not on the corner garnish. do the later model have a bigger headlight cause the early one looks tiny. Yes. It looks better. :)
  9. Almost correct. CDS tube is the preferred CAMS tubing, however CDW is still acceptable.
  10. And as far as I know NSW is not a signitory to NCOP unless something has changed in the last 4 months.
  11. Can you legally drive it?
  12. Nice build. You'll have a fat time with that. Any reason for 505's all round? I used to run 505's as a drive tyre, and the 55's as a steer. To be blunt, I didn't rate them. The 505's were fine as a drive, but sucked as a steer, and to make the 55's work, we cut them, and even then they weren't the best. Silverstones are a great price, but that's about where they stop for me. :( I'd really like your opinion once you've run on them. Cheers R
  13. I have a chrome moly cage in the Subaru. I'm thinking of pulling it out, as the cage is 15 years old. CrMo cages don't "last", and old cages have been known to fail. Cold drawn seamless is the go.
  14. Most tend not to do kits. A cage will set you back anywhere between $1500 and $4000 installed depending on what you want. What do you want? 4 point? 6 Point? Tower to tower? Sainz bars? Roof bar? Side intrusions? Double cross side intrusions? Single/ Double cross in the main hoop? Single/ Double cross in the rear stays? Dash bar? As I said in another thread tonight, if you're not 100% on what you're doing, don't build it yourself. A bad cage is worse than having no cage. While we're at it, can you lose the SMS speak. We don't charge by the letter, and you're more likely to get an answer. This cage was done by a guy in Ipswich.
  15. You just have to make sure you use the right material. Otherwise you're just filling up your car with bits of useless metal. And get it as close to the sides and roof as you can. I have trouble fitting a feeler guage between the b pillar and the cage on my 25. Oh, and say "Hi!" to your Dad for me. :)
  16. There are a multitude of cage builders about, and I'll tell you, if you don't know what you're doing, pay someone to do it. Bond roll bars in Sydney will do a kit and send it to you to install, otherwise, unless you live in the back blocks, there will be one nearby. I know of four in Brisbane alone.
  17. with a 1UZ you won't get anywhere near 800kg. Budget closer to 1000. Stripped, caged partly lightened k motored KE25: 842 kg with 10 litres of fuel Stripped, big cage KE35/55, 2TG, T diff: 940kg Cage tubing is surprisingly heavy. Use the right stuff, CDS is the stuff these days, and it's dear. If you don't know what you're doing, pay someone. I used to build them, and I still pay someone to do it.
  18. Quoted for truth. Time to put this one to bed. :) :locked:
  19. In that case, no it wont fit.
  20. Shoes are generally about $25-$30 a set. If that.
  21. Do you have a K housing on your T50? Are you talking about using a K50 fork on your T50? Is, indeed, the engine still a 4K?

  23. Okay guys, enough. We's not gonna be havin' a lynchin' on this forum. Talk about it amoungst yourselves, but not here. Cheers R
  24. Having recently ogled a friends 3SG AWD bug eye corolla, I can now state that anything is possible.
