  2. Nope. Only K motors are a bolt in job. T motor sits further forward, so you either need to modify your crossmember or your engine mounts, or both. T motor sits approximately 20mm further over than a K motor, so you should (although some don't...) also mod your gearbox crossmember. You will also need to mod your pedal assy to cater for the hydro clutch. Not hard, but it's time. I got a 27 pedal assy for mine and fit that. Although that isn't a direct bolt in either. Radiator also needs to be modded if you want to do it right. T motor into a 20 also means a different swaybar, as the standard gets in the way of the sump. Search around the forum as well. This topic has been covered before. R
  3. I turned the last Corolla rally car into a hotdog bun, and I'm still devestated......
  4. Sounds like the 4AC might be the go. The 4Ac by itself is no real excitement machine, but it'll make a conversion down the road soooo much easier.
  5. Does that include the gear to go to a hydraulic clutch set-up?
  6. Guards are the same. It's the same as the 2x series. Try and get a new screen. It should only set you back $200-ish, and you'll be able to see out of it. :y:
  7. No Trev, I think most of that was aimed at me. I've worked on the principle for many years that good moderation should not be seen. Recently though I think I've just got tired of being (myself and others) effectively ignored by a small-ish portion of the membership. All that we have ever asked is for a few simple rules to be followed. Some people seem to be habitually incapable of that. Thank you to the people who have taken the time to PM and discuss issues with me, I hope I've given you acceptable answers. Those that haven't, feel free. I will always try to give a balanced account of why things have happened. I have always done what I have felt is right for the board. At no time have I ever done anything for ego. Anyone who knows me properly will support that. My ideas of what the board should be are very similar to Felix's. I feel that my time of being a moderator are closing, and as such I will be discussing this with Ben. I'm seriously over it. Regards, R
  8. I'd do something about it, but apparently I'm too busy having an ego trip.
  9. Remove the locker and you remove the understeer. Springs and shocks aren't going to do much unless you run very aggresive front end settings. Even then it will still understeer to a degree.
  10. There used to be a bloke in Victoria who was well known for building screamer 4K's. He used to play "dot to dot" with the welsh plugs on the un-ribbed blocks.
  11. My left nut is currently not in use. I would gladly donate it for your carbie/ manifold appeal. :D Sorry guys, I can never work out which one of you I'm talking to.... At the end of the day though, QT (pineapple st) or State Traffic (Boondall) should (yeah I know, should) be able to give you a definitive answer. And hopefully in writing. It is in itself a difficult question. I would have thought that the issue would also have been different number of camshafts/ valves (per the CAMS argument for non inclusion as an alternate engine for PRC). I think where you ultimately come unstuck is the fact that that particular derivative of engine never came out in a 70 shell, whereas you could argue the point in an 86. If you get nowhere, I have a contact in Traffic branch I can hit up to get a better direction for a firm answer. Mr KCF should be able to point you in the direction of someone who knows as well. R
  12. His Dad would have his left nut if he drove something illegally. Queensland Transport would be your best port of call for this one. R
  13. Search button is your friend. FAQ also has answers to which you seek. Research FTW. :D
  14. No. Just........ No. :locked:
  15. This is priceless.
  16. 40mm DCOE side draft Weber. Also 40mm DHLA Dellorto. Same thing, vaguely. They bolt to the same manifold. Yes, those manifolds are easier to come by. Hell, I think you can even pick them up new. But unless you've done head/ Cam etc, and (I have three sets of them, so this is an honest figure) feel like spending $1000 to set them up properly, I wouldn't be looking at them. SU's are a nice compromise, but you wont necessarily find a manifold in a day.
  17. They're a good inprovement. IMHO better than the 32/36 Weber conversion that most people do. You must however get them set-up properly, and dyno time is preferable. DCOE's are the next step up, and not for the faint hearted in relation to dollars.
  18. Yes they'd be suitable for a mild 4K. IMHO 1.5's would be better. Yes you can get manifolds, however can be hard to come by, as I don't believe they're available new any longer. Custom woud be ludicrously expensive, you may as well bung Webers on. Hope this helps.
  19. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=QQ It's okay, Trev. I had to google it. :locked:
  20. Now a spam thread. You've been warned before, but didn't listen. :locked:
  21. The more I watch, the more respect I have. Left foot braking. Watch. Learn. More driving lessons.
  22. The late, great Colin again. Dorift-o Wrx-o.
  23. Whatever someone is willing to pay.......
  24. Dude, your carbie sits above the hottest part of the engine. Don't you think using some heat shield there as well may have helped things? What's the insulating properties of a garden hose?
  25. It just goes to show where we each live, Col. Ice?? What the hell is that?? :|
