I generally don't think a specific type of "make" of car should brand someone a "n00b". There are plenty of holden drivers, nissan drivers, and well, hate to say it, toyota drivers that hit the wanker switch to impress a few people on more than the odd occasion. It more than likely comes down to the people that those types "hang with' y0" and peer pressure that encourages that type of behaviour which results in bent cars or worse, death. Regarding the auto/manual licence topic. Just because someone drives an auto doesn't mean they are incapable. As Jason said, some people just aren't capable of clutching in, down shifting, balancing the clutch and accelerator for a smooth take-off or turning the wheel while changing down gears around a corner, for example. Most of us here are mechanically-minded individuals, some aren't. I know of a few people on here who drive auto and the majority drive manual. So what? In an emergency situation, call someone who can deal with an emergency if the person in question can't drive a manual vehicle. simple as that.

The only major rust is around the r/h rear quarter window frame and a bit in the roof. rear quarters have some rust as well as the front guards. The doors arent tooo bad I guess. I'm happy that there is bugger all rust around the edge of the front and rear screens though.

A little more progress..... That trick with the kero works wickedly by the way. You'll see a front windscreen pic and see where I haven't cleaned yet. Whats left of my dash pad. Was a little difficult to get my hands up behind the dash, but manged to in the end. :( You can see along the top of the windscreen where i hadn't quite cleaned yet. This was due to my shoulder/arm problem giving me grief, so I only did a minor amount of work today. Enjoy!

More dismantling was done yesterday :wink: Next weekend I'll pull out the dash, rest of the stereo, and maybe whip off the bumpers and tail lights :D

Magna = Not gonna break down. Nothing wrong with 157kw, a V6 and a 5 Speed Manual :) And hey, its much more comfortable than the KE36 :P
