  1. Next year, if my KE25 has the bodywork all sorted and looking schmick, I'll enter it :y:
  2. Supra's are the same MA70R or JZA70R for example :P

Taz, I looked in the ACL catalogue yesterday because I required a twin outlet exhaust flange gasket and the exhaust flange gasket lists a twin outlet up to 1974 and anything after that is single outlet. :P If a KE55 has a twin outlet, its because that exhaust manifold came off of an early model 3K motor.

Twin outlets manifolds come out on pre-1974 corolla's :P Anything after that is a single outlet.
  5. Why not get some Mazda 13" stockies (I'm guessing your car is a KE1x-KE2x and the early Mazda stud pattern is the same) then get some bigger hubbies and therefore you can get your whitewalls?
  6. All Make Motor Repairs & Restorations 1387 Main North Road Para Hills West SA 5096 Steve (08) 82814412 Steve deals with a lot of imports, so he would be ideal to go to.
  7. So just letting you all know, the panel van hasnt beaten me yet. The First Problem: My exhaust completely let go today and started sounding very truck-like, so off to Pole Position Exhausts (top guy, Jason I think his name is) fitted me in straight away. Apparently, two of the exhaust studs had worked their way loose off the inlet manifold. The First Solution: No drama, 20 bucks later plus an exhaust flange which I supplied (because he didn't have any) and it was all fixed, except for the minor manifold leak I have which I will sort out tomorrow providing it doesn't rain. The Second Problem: After the exhaust was fixed, I fired up the car to notice that when I revved the motor, the alternator swiveled. I'd noticed the huge fan-belt squeal I'd had prior to the exhaust letting go but hadn't had a look at it. So I get the car back here and proceed to unbolt the alternator to find that, lo and behold, one of the bolts for the alternator bracket that bolts to the side of the motor had gone for a walk and the other was half out. The Second Solution: Find a replacement bolt in my tin of bolts and proceed to dismantle alternator bracket from alternator and attach aforementioned bracket back to motor and then attach the alternator to bracket. Other things I did today: I cut some new carpet for my panel van in the back as the old stuff had gone brittle from last summer. I cleaned out all the shit that was behind the seats including bottles and an old double cheeseburger container haha. Re-attached top half of the steering column shroud.
  8. Haha, nice mod  I put mine up the left hand side of the rear window :)
  9. Today I fitted the original air filter assembly back onto the car. Looks better now
  10. So whats the go with running a distributor on one of these bad boys? I've seen electronic K motor distributors with adapter-plates set-up in them, but what other options are out there and how would you go about converting a distributor from some other model car over?
  11. Also fixed defrost/heater cable issue I was having. Now it selects either one fine.
  12. Not a bad bit of kit at all. Not too sure if I like the fluro green paint though.
  13. Flares never happened in the end. I'll probably source mine from one of the guys off of Toyota3tc.com.
  14. Seems to be a server issue. I know a few others are having problems with it. I'm personally not having an issue with it at all.
  15. When I got mine (and just recently sold it) there were 6 left in Australia and that was in November 2006. Try Hardiman Auto - Click here and give them a call as they should be able to let you know if there are any left or not. It WONT be listed on the website.
  16. Spent yesterday and today getting the car back to running order. It now drives nicely, I degreased the motor and now I'm going to start saving towards my twin weber/dellorto manifold for my 5K and get the parts I need to get the motor underway and built.
  17. Sorry I haven't replied sooner. Two reasons why 1. Been busy with my band stuff 2. Been too lazy to go dig my struts out. Anyway, the length of the RA60 Celica LCA is 365mm for those who wanted to know.
  18. jap/Banjo diff. Early Style round housing, KE30's and down have 'em.
  19. My 3K was also just a 3K that was in my KE25. As far as I know, the early KE3x panel vans had the 3K-H (mine did until I killed it)

  21. So I spent a few hours today removing the head off the car. While undoing the front left head bolt, it decided to snap off at the top of the thread. So I got my neighbour over to ask for his expertise. Vice grips would touch the locating dowel and the thing wouldn't budge, so in the end we came up with a nifty little idea and hammered a spare socket over the protruding head bolt and removed it that way. I had a look at the head gasket and there are no visible signs of a blown gasket at all, so I'm going to take the head to a cylinder head repairer and get them to test it for cracks. So as it stands, the motor is now headless and awaiting a new gasket/head to go back on.
  22. Sounds like a plan (when mine has the 5K in it) :)
  23. Finally scored yourself a KE25, SLY T. Good work. :)
  24. I can't remember exactly but it goes somethng like this. Either count how many rotations of the wheel it takes to get the pinion to make one complete turn or that could be pinion rotations to get the wheel to make one full turn. Mark it out with a chalk mark so you know when to stop and you kinda figure out which ratio it is that way.
  25. I'm awaiting Xany's post in here as his 5K sounds very rotor-like with the cam he has in that.
