Picked this up about 6 months ago now. Ive been doing small things over the time due to lack of money so thought there was no reason to post up a build but now Ive worked on it a bit thought Id promote it a bit. One day I want this to be close to perfect (in my eyes) but this is what I started with, First thing I did was fix up the rear leafs, currently running a 5 leaf pack, 2 flipped. Stiffened up the rear end significantly but hoping on an again less bouncy setup in the future. hi all I bought this ke70 5 years ago thinking it was the best thing out. it had a ca18det with with 4424 ems stinger ecu, 044 bosche, forged pistons ,stock rods, rb20 turbo , fuel reg, 1000cc injectors, front mount 600x400, stock radiator, stock coilpacks, stainless low mount exhaust mani, shity 3 inch exhaust with cat and cannon, ca18det gear box, 1 piece drive shaft, locked f series tarago diff, white interior and that's pretty much it. owning many of these cars before I had always wanted a fast one. just coming out of the mines all cashed up with 10k to blow I stupidly rushed into buying it. when I test drove it the guy had it on 25 plus psi lol. so you cou…

Hey All Picked up a stock as a rock AE71 csx in silver (little bit of surface rust which I am sanding back and killing slowly) she has 200k on the clock and is stupid clean apart from a few scrapes. Got it to teach my GF to drive in and for something to tinker on. So October last year I decided to look for a RWD car to take on khanacross/rallysprint days. I have never raced a car offroad before, so I wanted something light and durable, and didn't care too much about the power. Came across a 83 KE70 that had been used in some motorkhanas, bit rough, but cheap like I wanted. Took it home and over the next month I cut out some rust and prepped and painted the car. To start this off this is my first thread go easy on me haha. My names Jacob and I'm 18 This is My 1983 toyota corolla wagon which I brought for $1000 with rego. I got it a few weeks back and have loved every second of it. It was a 2 owner car both being elderly people. The first owner of the car looked after it very well. It has new parts throught it. The second owner who was best freinds with the original owner has had it for six years and continued to look after it. Haven't had a project car in while, a friend of mine picked this up 18months ago and went home shortly after buying it (we're Irish), it's been sat in another friend's yard since collecting dust so I gave him a phone call and asked how much he wanted for it and he said if I can have it in exchange for giving him a couch to crash on when he comes back over for a holiday! So happy days, a free Ke70! It's 1982, the paints well faded but overall its in decent nick for its age, counted 7 small patches off rust on it nothing to crazy. Due to covid19 pandemic work are suspended here in the philippines, so i have to spend the whole day staying at home. This gives me a chance to work on my project ke70, instead of spending my whole day watching ke70 restoration process in youtube. I decided to strip it to bare metal using angle grinder with 36 grit 4" flap disc (no available paint stripper paint shops were close due to lockdown), removed all carpet, dashboard etc.

Thought I'd put this up to track it's progress, I have had a few sedans but not a wagon so this will be fun :), I got this particular one off a young girl who drove it while on her P's and before that it was an old lady car. Interior is original and unmolested and no rips/tears nothing! It looked like it was "repaired" a while back and now starting to uncover the horror!! Hi all, Thought I'd share my ke70 project with youse. I'm new to the scene n this is my first project. I bought the ke for $500 n has a fair bit of rust. N I just finished my trade as a panel beater, I'm currently just making the body straight . I plan to get a sr20 for it which I've got one lined up, n would really love some advice n help with putting in it n what id need, I've heard it's a fair bit of work. I've already bought vanitions n gaurd mirrors . Here some pics of how I got it n what I've done so far.

any modern engines for ke70 like zz, rz, nz or else? 7K and 4age are almost impossible to find, if found , they are not in good condition and extremely expensive. any one who has done a modern engine into ke70?

(wich is awesome rare in Quebec Canada) Bought it for 1200$ So far i got; chrome bumper/new front housing/everything to prep/paint to glossy black! I have a question on mirrors tough, does anyone actually bought or installed universal mirrors? I do not want fender mirrors, I will stay with door mirrors, but its really ugly atm and was thinking of buying a CIPA 18000 or 17000. Anyone has some pictures or photoshop godness? Thank you

Finally got my hands on one of these bad boys. 210k on original motor. Stock as a rock besides the steering wheel. Bit if rust around the boot/rear light area but nothing too bad. Not sure which way I wanna go with it yet. Leaning towards drift.

Hi there...I'm very new to the corolla community since I last owned a Ke70 20 years ago. My question is I have chosen a ca18det engine for my conversion and looking at help into what rear end I should be looking at as I'm sure the standard wouldn't cope. Is there a straight bolt in diff axles and drums I can put in for a bit more more strength?would a carona diff fit and do the job?or and recommendations would be great... I will be putting a big brake upgrade on the front.
