19914afc replied to GJM85's topic in Automotive Discussion
Apparentlythe brisbane river will be even higher at 11pm tonight. The picture is from one of the city cat terminals. http://www.smh.com.au/environment/weather/cbd-exodus-as-brisbane-flood-threat-grows-20110110-19l56.html -
we run petrol/diesel 20w50 oil in non vvti toyota engines at work, then 10w30 vvti oil in vvti petrol engines.

T18 one is different, the way Evan explained it was exactly the way I found out the diaphragm on my ae92 was f@$ked. Anyway here's some pics of my heater tap, got a brand new genuine one from Japan, also with the air pump I took mine off as it was making it backfire very slightly when driving normally, just took everything off and blocked up anything that was required but I would think you would need it to get ti registered unless you do a very good job and get proper plugs for the EGR part. Anyway the last pic is of how simple my weber is only having 2 vacuum lines for vac advance :laff:
-
Got a picture of the guide on the bonnet, not the clearest but might do. Also searched through the repair manual and couldn't find anything to do with vacuum lines/emissions.
-
Nothing in the t series manual, pretty sure there is a different one for USA emissions, I'm pretty sure they had way stricter emission laws over there, ill see what the one under my bonnet says if that is the right one.
-
should be on the plate in the engine bay.
-
I can have a look tomorrow if it says in my T series manual when to re-torque, unless you have one already.
-
Looks good, needs to be lower. Where abouts in brisbane are you? Ive only seen one other T18 other than mine around and it was matt black.

Xf Falcon Down Draft Carbie (Maybe Twin) For 3Tc
19914afc replied to t18drifts's topic in General Mechanical
pretty much, not sure of the best way to find out what size jets you would need, but with the weber on my 3t I am just going to eventually take it to a dyno and get it done properly. -
What is that? looks pretty clean.
-
yep worth a fair bit if you can find one for sale, there is a white one of those falcon 4x4's always down at the banyo tavern. Edit, found a xa on a cruiser chassis for $4300 don't think it would be road registrable though. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/XA-ford-falcon-overlander-Landcruiser-chassis-351-V8-/320633803783?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item4aa7439407

Xf Falcon Down Draft Carbie (Maybe Twin) For 3Tc

If you just put the xf carby on it will run like shit in till it is jetted properly. Cheapest you could probably get twins for would depend on wether you want used ones that you can rebuild or if you are going to buy ones that have already been rebuilt or if you go brand new, price varies for used but I got my setup for my 3t the manifold cost $120 delivered from the states (do not buy a cannon manifold from the states as they are a pain in the ass to put everything in because they are so long) The linkages cost $100 and the trumpets and filter socks cost about another $150 so thats already $370 and haven't even bought the carbs yet, which you can get from redline brand new, but if your looking to get everything new you won't have much change from $1000 if not have to spend more. Also then if you are going twin carbs it will make a difference but what would go even better with the twin carbs would be a bit of other work to the engine as well. -
now has a very tight TRD 2 way and 4.77 CW and Pinion, but I think I might swap over the old one or maybe one a little lower because when I drive at 110km/h it revs at nearly 5000 :o and when I am actually doing 60 the speedo says 80km/h.
-
Pretty sure its a choke because of the sensor that is there that sits in there where the coolant runs through also could be a emissions/cold drive-ability type thing. I just blocked it off from both sides on the one on the middle of the manifold and on the bottom on the plate on the manifold, this was when I ported the manifold and put on a 38/38 weber though, so not sure what effect it would have on a std carby.
-
Exactly, if you like them buy them. They look pretty good, might need to flare your guards if there 17x9 -13 though. might look a bit odd though but like I and Mason said if you like them do it, ive seen a ke70 that looked pretty good with 17s and that was with no dish so these should look even better.

ye twin sidedrafts will make a big difference otherwise just use a single weber on the std intake manifold will make a bit of difference. -
