Easy fix for the tacho is a Autometer Tacho adapter (part #9117) that i used with mine, cost $139 and connects to the positive supply power to the coils and reads the switching freq of the main power and creates a signal for almost all tacho's

Second engine, this one is a auto engine and is clean, even behind the flex plate you could lick it :P , its that clean and they wouldnt have been able to clean it there. Everything is complete on it too, my first one was missing all kinds of small things, like sparkplug leads, wiring plugs, Bungs on all the openings (the red plastic covers on everything on this motor), Air con pump (not that i need it) etc. comp test on thins one is 220,230,225,235 Lets hope it lasts longer than the last one.

Have you read my thread , alot of your questions will be answered there. I modified my exhaust header and i used a supra W58 manual so i used a ke30 tail shaft with a supra yoke that fitted without modification and i fitted the engine so it would be the right length, I was quoted $80-$100 to cut and shut the tail shaft if it had needed it.

1.5 to 2 l will be fine, i use a bosch 039 pump, 73psi flow upto 450hp. I'm using small bosch lift pump into a surge tank then feed the hi pressure pump on my 20V. Almost the same setup on te v6 rolladore but i used the intank commo efi pump and put it into the rolla tank and that feeds the surge tank and feeds a bosch hi pressure pump. I tried the Rolladore without the surge tank but found when doing doughnuts it would run out of fuel to the pump.:y:

there isnt much difference to the setup of the engines or the ECU's, thay all run coil packs etc, I bought a running VN for mine, the wiring for the ecu is seperate to the rest of the wirnig in the VN, so i came out almost complete, i had to connect about 8 wires intotal. there was 2 pink on the inside of the car of the loo that goes to the engine fuse of the rolla, youll have some others in there for the Auto like the park switch and the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor). out side on the drivers side of the engine here it plugged into the original engine bay wiring there is a Large Purple goin along with the battery power wire to the starter, that connected with a relay and use the original rolla starter wire (Black/White trace). orange/red, orange/black and i think a red/black connect to relays. All these are switched with ignition on with the relays from the original coil wire on the rolla as the trigger. orange/red i think is injectors power. Orange/black i think supplies power to the relay for the fuel pump, a green on the smaller v6 plug is fuel relay trigger and the thinner purple on there is connected direct to the fuel pump. Red/black is power to the ECU. On the larger plug there is a blue/white that is the trigger for the relay for the thermo fan. the Alt wire on the rolla should be white with light blue trace, that connects to the alt on wire, again i think its brown. This is a rough guide, I have no idea if you loom has the same colour wiring and i take no responsability if and of this is wrong, youll just have to check for yourself, but should help find some stuff.

I have the VN engine in mine, I have the ecu wiring diagrams From a VN and can send them if you want. If you use these wiring diagrams you should have no trouble. Are you using the autobox?

I don't regret it, Show me a EFI V8 for $300 complete and going. I agree with everything Dan said.

Well 1 and a half races and rattle, rattle, rattle. Went back to the pitts, and it stopped making the noise, I pulled off the tappet cover checked to make sure i didnt drop a valve or something, everything seemed fine, I look after my engine change the oil before every meeting, i checked the oil and it was still nice and clear brown, pulled the spark plugs and they where all the same colour and burning well. I packed up and started heading home about half way home it got real noisy and lost all power. My mate came and towed me home. as soon as i got homei started pulling the engine down, thought it might have been a blown head gasket, but after removing the head i couldnt see any problems, then noticed number 4 piston had 3 shiny spots on it, hmmmm looked at the head and 3 tiny shiny spots, turned the crank and all the pistons moved up and down, but #4 lagged behind a bit. Pulled the engine out and stripped it down to fing lovley gold flake oil and gold deposits. It spun #4 conrod bearing and had almost all gone, doesnt seem to be much damage. so total clean, new rings and bearings as ive pulled it down it should be all good.

i have some 205x60x15 on trx rims, but i ended using them in the burnout comp, the old v6 easy spun them in third so would have been no good for the drags the cheese cutters seem to have more grip Best time was 14.6, the diff is still a 4.11 and i hitting the rev limiter in 5th over the line. But still smoking the commodores
