Epic Mega Cruise To Marysville This Sunday 27 Mar
kickn5k replied to TE278U's topic in VIC / Melbourne
Ha sorry bro just got a call for a FREE F1 ticket so I won't be making it tomoz. Stu. -
Ha the 7k ecu will have a heart attack with boost.lol. THE best advice I've ever been given about cars is "find a tuner your happy with and ask what they'd like to tune". Saved me a massive amount of heart ache. I looked into the the both those ecu's and a fair few more when I originally boosted mine. Not many tune shops like tunning the megasquirt down south. I've had a couple of mates with wolfs have software issues BUT they are really good to deal with and were fixed that day and they are in Vic so no postage etc. I'm a massive fan of haltech awesome after sales service and you can get a new sprint 500 for about $1000. I'm not sure about kebab night got a ktm200 to put together for tomoz so if I get it done I'll be up. Are you coming on the fully hectik rota cruise on Sunday? Stu.

Haha Calder park for sure or even a Phillip island sprint day!! Ain't gunna get near you at a short course or hillclimb. "got any lag?"someone asks your reply would be "lag, what's that?". Don't stress bout my setup it's still gunna be sick it's just gunna take a little longer. Oh and I won't be going stupid just yet on stuff like polished comp cover and alloy rad etc. Oh yeah good to here you gone efi what ecu are you getting? Stu.

everyone says this but I've got em in mine. Two tack welds and it and six years later alls good. 20 complete struts stuff up geometry and gives more positive camber. I'm changing mine to 10 strut bottom, Peders ke20 superlow spring, ke20 top spring plate and strut top with Peders ke20 insert with spacer. I allready have a 22mm sway bar. I'm still unsure if I'll mod the 10 steering arm to suit the larger balljoint shaft. Stu.

Is that the silver one? Has been there for a while if it is. Don't tell me you live down this way? It's usually Pozman that gives harvey's updates but I've been down a bit lately. Stu.

From memory playing with mates 6cyl Holden with tripple 2in su's on his torrie they camE STD with .110" mains in em. Might be worth sacrifing a rich idle to keep it happy up top. Because of the big cam in mine and the 25ish deg of advance at idle if I get a perfect lambda at idle it runs real hot. But that's the joy of a locked dizzy. Stu.

No bigger bore will give higher static compresion. There is two variants of 4k head. Small and large camber ones. Sorry Jake but have been sooo busy trying to find a job so I'll shoot you some picks tomoz. Had mine out last night, now seeing as I'll be unemployed in three weeks I'm in two minds to do turbo setup or keep it blown. And it's still heaps of fun. Still going to build a motor but probably not as nasty. But it's all still up in the air so it still might happen. Stu.
-
Hey man looking sweet speaking of camshaft did that mild crow cam I sold you get you out of trouble? Stu.
-
I'm with you philbey a complete set is they way to go. But also no need to go bigger if the bore is in good nick. Yes you can buy singles if they have em, but I wouldn't mix match manufactures. Not many manufactures will make a piston to excact oem specs. Rings are usually different let alone weights or material specs. In saying that what brand are the pistons you have? I can send you in the right direction if I know what they are. Stu.

Man it's so close your only going to leave the frying pan and into the fire. Been thinking what main jet size do you have, are you running an electronic fuel pump and fuel pressure reg if so what pressure are you running? Main jets come in three sizes .090" , .100" , .110". Might have a small one in it stranger things have happened. Stu.
-
Yep I'll second that. Look like ain't much 25 left in that, probably not much 4g63 either. Does anyone know what class this is teched for? Still mighty psycotic either way thanks for the vid wpn36. Man could only imagine the times oke020 would run with a chassis like that and a full GAS "fx extreme class" setup!!! Stu.
-
Nice purchase. Not only are those monza seats ugly but they would have to the most uncomfortable seats I have ever owned!! I'm diggin the gold wheels too, but your right black centers would look sweet. Stu.
-
Wow body work is lookin good Josh. ETA on colour? This will look sick man, great first car. Will look awesome with the 2 vans and the 10 all cruising together. Stu.
-
Cool that should be fine(6-7psi) and you have barely any ignition timing in it. I run about 25+btdc(only cause it's past the end of the marks). My sc12 is the same I may get about 1-1.5psi at max on the free rev. The sc14 will boost on a free rev and give instant boost on throttle crack. My car runs 5psi in 1st, 6psi 2nd, 7-8psi 3rd and 9psi in 4th and 5th. In my experience there is little to no peak power difference between the two blowers it's all in the way they deliver boost. altezzaclub is right you need to slow down the piston. Being that the su carbs only run about 2psi of fuel pressure if the piston moves too fast there is not enough fuel behind it to keep up. Yes su's will work almost as good as a fuel only ecu, but it will unlike efi test your patience with setting it up. Best thing about a draw through carb is no need for an intercooler. Stu.

Nah can only see "kabab night" as my only net access at moment is an iPhone. Seeing as I'm pulling the motor out of the rolla next weekend it will be out of the running but I'll bring the daily and catch up for some garlic goodness. Stu.
-
Matt tells me it wasn't last night. Am I a fool and missed the date on the thread? Or was it last night. Stu.
-
Hhmmm was thinking of bringing the 11 for an eastlink run. But lost my job today so I think I'll be drowning my sorrows instead. I've been there for like 15yrs so I've forgoten how to right a C.V let alone what an interview is like.lol stu.
-
Can you not ditch the idle controll valve and run the idle off the tps? That's what I'm doing at moment but my microtech is that old I believe it was used on noahs ark.lol "oldrolla's" is a wealth of k knoledge he will definatly know. Stu.
-
Just use the "penrite dashpot oil" it's not expensive and was the best I had used before I went sc myself. Or you could do it right and put efi on it. Even a cheap d5 microtech fuel only is better than a carb. Lol How much boost you running? Ignition timing? Have you put a sniffer up it? Nice looking setup though hope you get it sorted. Stu.
-
I have to see that one in person!!! We need to organise a burger off between Evan and Tate. Stu.
-
The famed "buxton burger" That's one mean burger I've only had the smaller ones but gees they are good. Spewing I wasn't able to get out on that cruise. Stu.

Yeah a jap import wrecker is your best bet. For the sc. 1 3/4" su's came on mostly larger British made cars eg: jag 6's and range rover, land rover and rover v8's. Hope that helps. But in my opinion efi is your best bet be a bit more expensive but it's a lot less mucking around to get right. My ke11 with 5k made 98rwkw but since have played with the tune and it feels a bit quicker but haven't had it on the rollers yet. Back to your original Q is it worth it hells yeah!! On 9psi with a blower grind cam and a drop in comp, power went from almost 50rwkw to almost 100rwkw and the difference is how do I say it wwwoooowww. Hope that helps. Stu. P.S. Pm sent.

Bbbbrrrrraaaaahhhahahahahaha!!!! I thought Matt said it was his car. But then he'd also said he was a mechanic. Are you sure your not a hairdresser? Lol. But seriouslly why wouldn't you just use the parts car for your sis and ditch that dirty pulsar. I'm getting a little worried about you mate, first the pulsar then the 200b. Your not going to the dark side are you? Good to hear she's running all good mate hope to see her soon. Stu.

Rolla Bus Ae82 W/rebuilt 4agze (yet To Be Started)!
kickn5k replied to RollaBus_4agze's topic in Rollaclub Rides
Congrats on the bubs and hope your back gets back to normal soon. The first build(red interior) is not quite my style but the new trim is very tasteful for a late mod autosalon style show car. The extent and quality of the airbrushing is awesome! It's refreshing to see a late model show car that isn't a gay late mod commo and that it matches the go with the show!!! Keep up the fantasic work. I've always liked the sedan ae82 shape and more modded sedans seem to be coming out of the woodwork. Stu. -
Hhmm is a 5k worth it? Hells YEAH! My first 5k setup with twin 1.5inch su's, fairly small crow cam + springs, decked head for 10.2:1 comp and extractors made just over 50rwkw @ 5500rpm but dyno was harsh and that old I didn't get a torque figure. Second setup stock 5k bottom end(same as before), 4k big chamber head(no porting), Clive cams blower grind solid cam, sc12 supercharger, same as previous extractors, 7k efi manifold with microwreck d5 ecu and top mount intercooler made 100.5rwkw @ 5800rpm and peak torque @ 4000rpm. Roll on performance from any speed(under limit) is amazing. And turns 5th into a drive gear!!! Third setup is about to start costruction. Including a full forged 5k and a rollerbearing turbo. Keep power levels posted when finnished. But it's costing sssoooo much coin it might take a while.(who said we only play with rollas cause they are cheap)lol. All this from a little lightweight ke11=serious fun. So yes 5k's have a massive amount of power potential for what they are"a 1960's designed pushroded non crossflow 1500" stu.
