  1. Wow how many unis is that now? Very nice wags mate, I thought this was a van until raven and webers4x48 pointed it out at webers place after GOR. Can't argue about the reliabilty of the old girl with a near 2200km round trip. Getting back to your uni joints. Are you packing them with grease? The grease they use is like running none at all. I'm using the heavy duty ones behind my 5kz with 98rwkw and are now 6yr old. My 11 is a bit lighter than your 38 which helps too. Stu.
  2. One of the best examples I've seen for a while. Good to catch up at Leeroy and philps the other night too. Man this will be the awesome with the cooler. I think it needs a massive rolla turbo and around 20psi of boost. Stu.
  3. Well who won the g/box sweep then? Lucky you have enough torque to pull through those missed gears. I have a bit of a noisy k50 at home if you want me to bring it up Sunday? You might want to make a good one out of the two. Oh it also has a ksev extension housing too. Stu.
  4. Lol engineerig cert on a 5k. Been there before. Mine cost me $450 gst Inc. I was pissed about having to do it and fork out the money but in the end I now have mine supercharged and I believe that as it's engineered for the 5k I don't get looked at. With the turbo that's going it's only about $200-300 to adjust it. Sorry to here about the acco. Was a very nice beast you had and don't forget they always come out better the second time. Stu.
  5. Ouch a BHG bet your air/fuel/water ratios were spot on though. That sux about the BHG so close to the run. Atleast your excel has aircon. My only trouble on starting is it takes a couple of goes for it to fire and run. It has nnoooo trouble turning over like your car has. It's like the battery has no omph in it you may need like a 500+cca beast in it like mine, don't forget it's in the boot and not the bay so you'll need a bit more to compensate for the loss through all that cable. Stu.
  6. Yeah Matt your right I went for a bit of a spin last weekend it is very cool. The nobbs gets his s$@t done quick. I do have a soft spot for carby fed blown stuff but they just need a fair bit more love to keep em happy. This car is HOT! In more ways than one. Stu.
  7. Hells yeah. What's better than photage off 1 blown rolla at Calder? I'd reckon 2 side by side! Mine has enough blower whine for the both of us. Alignment today I here? It needs one pretty bad I here. Stu.
  8. What like the Hyundai steering queenslander that has been working like a mad man on your bars. Lol
  9. I don't know about that my car only gets thirsty in traffic. It's good on a cold night but in the heat if the cooler gets a bit of soak and then it compensates for it and it runs rich. I reckon I may try and aim for 12ltr/100km for hanging rock otherwise I may need a Jerry can to get me there. Transitional throttle may end up being a tuff one to chase. Oh and with that brake pedal softness have you tried the master cyl off the other car? Stu.
  10. Wweeellll? You should have taken your tunning drills to work for some lunchtime enrichment. Stu.
  11. Did you end up getting the beast to work today man? Must have been a late night after kiddies classes. Stu.
  12. Yep best tool for the job!!! But if you don't have access to one you can turn an old disk into one. Remove unbolt the rear brake assembly eg. Rear drums and backing plates etc. So that all your left with is an axle with studs hanging out then undo the retaining plate on diff housing. Get an old front brake disk and bolt it on backwards so the disk part is outside but leave it so I will slide back and forwards about 10mm. Push forward then pull it back quickly hopefully it will give it enough of a shock to unseat it. If that fails bolt the disk up tight and hit it with a big rubber mallet but remember to hit then turn the axle. Stu.
  13. You will need to run an oil scavange pump from the turbo too. I've seen a few done and only two worked. A shop in Vic have a 400+rwkw xr8 works and is real stealth. The bloke over the back of my place has his mounted in the front wheel well on his 355 vl commo and that works awesome car has run a couple of 9.90 passes and sees heaps of street use. It is not out of the realms of being able to be done but turbo size needs to be dead on perfect. Way toooo much effort for me that's why mine is going in the bay.
  14. MTQ in Dandenong , ATP in Murrumbeena or Rotomaster in Sumerton would be the only ones I'd trust. I use MTQ mainly because they are 200 meters from work and they do a overrated job. ATP and Rotomaster both do a good job just thought it'd be good to try and give you somewhere close to home. Stu.
  15. Oh s$@t I forgot to mms those pics of how my sway bar fitted. Looking good were those shots(other than the shed shot) taken on the same day as Tate's car? I'm keen to see how this goes with some more fuel in the main jets. F'me she's punchy down low, and the sc14 over my sc12 seems to give instant boost. But I do have a fair camshaft in my 5k. Is your car blown though? Just cause I couldn't here it. Lol stu
  16. You still need to give me the info on the motor matt!!
  17. Also you could try giving "the nobbler" on here a pm I'm pretty sure he has toby's contact details who Makes them locally here in Vic. Stu.
  18. Morning mass Josh? I'm sure if it is you could come for a look afterwards. It goes all day. Kangaroosa I'd be watching the web site for the 80. Mates were up in Barmah last week and were counting 4-5 logs an hour float pass. Depending on water levels and condition it may not be on. Do you know if the 20b turbo boat that Rowan does the engines etc for racing? I'm sure between everyone on here we can get a bucket load of happy snaps to keep you both happy. Stu.
  19. Just looked at route on google maps and it's bout 135km each way from my joint so prob 2 tanks.lol I'll take old mate. The two white blown ke1x's next to each other should look ace. Harvey you need to bring the sprinter and make it three blown beasts!!! Stu.
  20. Hey Josh, if your sticking with the 4k I wouldn't bother with a cat converter as your not converting to an "unleaded" or post 1986 engine. So you'll only need to comply with the earlier emmision laws. If you still decied to put one in to be a bit greener be carefull of the commo cat converters they tend to fall apart internally and block up the exhaust if she runs a bit rich. Could try a performance stainless cat but price compared to a commo second hand on will be a fair bit more. They aren't that hard to fit I'd just wait till vicroads ask for one. EFI Ke-36 pano would deff = WIN stu.
  21. Hey JP i still have to get you to drive my car so you can feel how bad it drives THAT low. Bumpsteerorama is all I'm going to say. Getting these ke-1x`s this low can be a little dangerous!! In saying that ive seen a few photos of jap race cars and they all seem to be that low. oh yeah i do love the look of this beast though. A real swaybar will improve your handling out of sight. so ditch those transverse leafs. get yourself a 22mm swaybar kit for the front you wont be disapointed. I`d like to thank camerondownunder for about the 5th or 6th time for the swaybar info still belive its a better value for money mod than the s/c12 and efi i put on. stu.
  22. Haha must be me. Pm sent. What an awesome wags! Real cars are built not bought. Been getting into the late model datto turbo motors of late I've still gotta get dads fj20t powered 1600 done before I pull the blower of the 11 and shoot for big boost. Stu.
  23. We just got a set of beryllium gudgen pins in for a prostock engine for a customer of ours and the pins cost about $3800 plus gst. So I'd be thinking piston would be about that EACH. Be interesting to see how long they lasted as it's not a material many piston companies use. Prob 100k plus engine. Lovin the custom cnc block but seeing what a nos backfire does to an sr block I would sacrfice weight for strength and use something a bit stronger as coin seems to be no problem. Awesome thread +1 for the find Stu.
  24. Ha yeah The guy doing exhaust manifold came bolting out of his shop thinking it was some boosted small block v8 rocking up. Get into what with this time of year I'm waiting on laser cutter bloke for my car and radiator bloke for the dirty datto. I have been enjoying it a fair bit more last couple of months it still puts a huge grin on my face. Stu.
  25. Nice score matt I'll get those prices for you very soon. It maybe FWD and all but atleast it's not a filthy dirty sounding late model datsun!!! Oh that's right you have one also sorry. Your dads going to need to extend the shed mate. Stu.
