Thats surprising my k40 would go up to 125km and sound find in fourth gear.

I have just recently pulled my tank out of the '20 to clean the bottom as i thought there would be 32 years worth of gunk in it.To my surprise the only thing i collected were 2 metal shavings the size of 20 cent peices.Other than that it was very clean.So i will be running the car to E from now on.

Ok so i want to get my gearbox reconditioned before it goes back in with a reconditioned motor. Does anyone know of any quality places that do recon of boxes within Melbourne? AND, Would anyone have a rough price of how much it would cost to get a K50 reconditioned? Cheers fellas.

40thou sounds sweet. Snap bang in the centre of 20 and 60 thou. Make sure to clean the deck of the block aswell, so that your new gasket can sit in flush.

Can anyone tell me were to actually place the shim in the oil pump.I have read the wiki but still cannot get my head around were to put the shim. Pictures would help alot. Cheers
