  1. i've had something similar happen. ke20, 5k, elec dizzy, running the original alt from the ke20. started it about 5 times during the day, was x-mas shopping. on the way home, pulled over for some car parts, went to start it, slow turn over, like a flat battery, then smoke from the wires going to the alternator...the plastic around them was smoking. let it sit for a bit, tried again and it did the same thing. i started calling around for a ride home, then it starts to rain about 30mins after i tried to start it the last time. cursing my head off, i give it one try for shits and giggles, and it starts perfectly... so in short, i have NFI, but possibly check your alternator... disconnect it and start the car.
  2. ice-cream cake FTW...bourbon and coke, fanta and vodka...fun times had by all Happy B'day Jip.
  3. zorbing, info here a big inflatable ball, do circus people still use them? i remember one for about 10 years ago, it was about 2 meters in diametre tho, probably a bit too big.
  4. NP, i have copies of this saved on 4 different PC's currently
  5. there are plenty of companies that you organise to get the package to them in the USA, and they send it to you in AUS. i don't have any links unfortunately but you shuold be able to find some easily..
  6. 3k's were the choice race engine back in the day, well, they still are for many people. that is extermely tough, the engine looks like it's caged in...
  7. i watched my mate in his VK reverse into the EL wagon i was driving. he thought he'd reverse a bit to let someone enter the servo we were leaving. lost control of the gf's lancer on dirt road lined with 4-5 metres deep of 10-15cm diameter trees...took the corner at around 95, the road was recommended 60. the arse picked up and swung around, ended up diagnal across the gravel embankment that was left after a previous grading about 2 weeks prior. it was the reason we didn't hit the trees. no less than 2 months later, the lancer got rear-ended. she was stopped at lights, lady came along about 20 seconds later, wasn't paying attn and only managed to slow down to about 50 from 90...lovely early exxcel shaped dint in the back, you could put half of a bonnet under the back of the lancer. not mine, but saw a WRX being driven thru work on a tow truck, looked like he backed into a powerpole at around 50-60. the only damage to the car was a shape of the pole in the middle of the boot, going in as far as the roof. i lol'd alot at that.
  8. i hope that was just a pre-meal appetiser...it's so tiny i'm slowly working my way up to a "double-pounder", currently i've done a "one-and-a-halfer" what grinds my gears is the fact they're still so damn greasy and fat-filled even after maccas have 'healthied' their food up. it still is MUCH better for you now than it used to be, but still not enough for me to eat 'pounders' daily and stay in shape, other than round
  9. yeah, the spelling is good on that shane, and you have asked a few times too  my extractors aren't as thick on the mounting points as the inlet is, so they're leaking a bit (which is good for flames out the exhaust when backing off from +5k revs) but nothing else, gonna try doubling a gasket up to try and make the gap up, otherwise it'll be a bit noisy GOR run.
  10. Davros Click Here for lotsa useful 5k specs
  11. 13" stockies w/ original center caps
  12. Click Here this link came from the FAQ link at the top of the page, use that and google as your bibles :hmm:
  13. haha, it's not who will make it, it's which car will make it... i might even have to bring the gold 55 again.
  14. there's 3 options when it comes to whitewalls, and it all depends on your budget and desired outcome. you can paint whitewalls on yourself, you can buy tires with them built into the sidewall, and you can pay someone to come around and cut whitewalls into whatever tire you have on the car/will put on the car.
  15. congrats pozman...now you can focus on the 'real' car, getting shane's 20 road legal. i want to see both of you tearing it up to the torquay meet point :D
  16. he's complaining??! he got a bargain, and he's whinging the diff broke. tell him to HTFU. now, if he'd paid mega-bucks for something that he thought was immaculate, i'd understand being pissy... but for $500 WITH some rego, he should be greatful you sold it to him so cheap.
  17. there's no such thing as too many pics in a post  that thing just gets better and better
  18. go for it cam... i'm just too lazy to do it myself
  19. not confident how... driving ability - you don't need to be Gronholm to drive GOR getting the car together - 'persuade' some mates with free food, and beers after the work is done, to get it together. the cruise is just a big "meet and greet", with great scenery. dF
  20. being a uni student for 3 years, and still not getting anywhere, i was working 3 days picking up rubbish at Highpoint Shopping Centre from the carparks and landscaped areas...was around $300/w after tax. currently i've got myself an office job, dealing with new life insurance plans and a bit of general pricing and banking. sitting on $40k.
  21. mine was a red block from '74, engine no up the front
  22. hmm, the only thread like that i remember is the taz-rx one with the k, k-t and k-w boxes... i'll have to hunt a lil more then sbox. cheers dF
  23. This thread will answer all...
  24. well, i've found it has 4 forward and 1 reverse, and it weights a heap more than the t50... the numbers cast and etched into it are still readable, it had 33111-20090 cast onto the center section, and 33141-31010 on the shifter extension.
  25. i've just picked myself up 2 gearboxes kinda cheap. one is a t50 from a TA22 (i believe) and the other is from a corolla (apparantly) here's the photo's of them that should help ID them The bottom one here is the t50 The left one here is the T50 i am very unconvinced that the unknown one is from a corolla, as the centre shaft is quite larger than the one on my k40 and the t50, as well as the clutch fork being on the opposite side of the bellhousing. all help is appreciated. dF
