  2. Diff is a borg warner most likely out of ke55.Its stamped on it. Tail shafts could be out of any number of cars .Allthough the one with the shroud looks like a ke55 .ke30. Count the number of splines and give a an over all length.Could be out of space ship to,need more info.
  3. Sounds like the same effect as turning the key off ,while running.I would check your 30year old key barrel. Also the connector at the bottom of the steering coloum, where all the key barrel and lights blinkers come out of the steering coloum. rob
  4. Bloody credit to you mick .The workman ship is excellent. As they say to build a great car first you must start with a good car which it is. This thing is in such good nick. rob
  5. Good advise red . Number 5 F##K all pr##ks that borrow tools and don't return them. Or its been that long he will not remember who has it. BAH Pr##ks
  6. Although its hard to tell for sure it looks like borgy diff to me as well. The hole in the trans tunnel looks long ,well longer than normal. Maybe an auto thing. more pics.

  11. Welcome to oz Quinn ,not just snakes to look out for, spiders and bloody cane toads. One thing you,ll find when driving about is that australians are very aggressive drivers.(road rage) compaired to most countrys. Bathurst i don't think its a place you turn up in some think your built in your shed and race. Its a public road most of the year, what you don't see on tv,interweb is how steep the mountain really is,its f##king steep. As for a 2.20 lap thats pretty slow these days . But good luck with crusade!!! rob
  12. No thats bolt in ,turned up to day ,bloody heavy thinking i should put the 4a in it now. rob
  13. Holy shit thats not at all gone well. May be the carbon fibre dash helped him.
  14. CDS Dave i just went with what they recomended .The reason i went with bonds a mate of mine just built a wrx and got them to do the cage and suspention points seat mounts etc it is a true work of art but not cheap 8000. But then you would not put a bolt in six point in wrx/evo as there a shit load faster than a old ke (except trds car  ) I ve heard that chrome moly cages have broken in a big hit ,seems as if it gets brittle as it gets old. As for a 650 dollar cage i would be very care full, you might have trouble when it comes time to get it log booked. I m going to pull my old alloy cage out and flog it off ,as there basic not usable any where now. rob
  15. Ordered one last week off bonds , six point ,double cross brace, side intrustion bars and harness bar etc 1740 landed.( basic cams spec) The bonds guys are very helpful and no there sh#t . Buggar no christmas holidays for me haha. rob

  17. Poor old service pigs i feel your pain dave been doing it for 20 plus years. The only other blokes i feel for is the road closeure guys ,boring and usually unthanked. Good that you guys recognise your service crew  All the cars that ive worked on over the years (mainly old school cars)always have a trailer plug to connect driving lights with no problems. Where you the guys that give your head service pig a trophy a few years back at bago rally?? Good work guys rob Good work guys rob
  18. Nice car ,give me your grill and bonnet please ha ha Good work  I hate that we got all the shit engine options over here . rob
  19. Looks like a cool car ,ive never seen or heard of one. So is it a import?? 54ks thats buggar all if genuine. good score
  20. Put the the nuts back on and hit really hard with lump hammer lump hammer not them girly builders hammer. On the side not the nut .
  21. A car this old rust is the only killer .Where they rust under the battery holder front rail and front cross member ( under radiator) Also spare wheel well ,around boot rubber, rear wheel arch, rear quarters, rear window,if it doent have rust here must be the only one. K engines will most likely go for ever. rob
