RHS REAR LHS REAR Happen turning right in a carpark at 5kph, heard/felt a clunk come from the rear. Thought id snapped an axle as thats what it felt/sounded like. Pulled the axle out this morning but its in perfect conditon so ive got NFI what the problem is. There were no other obvious breaks/snaps anywhere in the rear end... Car still drives, but crabs something shocking (i only drove it down the driveway once off the tow truck).

hey guys went for a drive lastnite started to feel massive vibration through the car only when off the gas i checked the tail shaft felt tight, but still a bit unsure. :) any sugestions would be helpful thanks michael

hi guys how are ya. i was just wandering if any one could please help advise me if a ae82 -86 model 4age model hatch corolla front sway bar will fit my ae92 1994 model car ?? iv found one at the wreckers and my car does not have a front sway bar at all,allthough iv fitted a white line strut brace recently to it. any ideas guys please?? thanks cheers glen

hey all just got my new ke70 5 speed plan to keep the 4k because its fair punchy for a 4k haha. umm i want to supercharge it but its locked atm so I'm going to guess with the power boost axles are going to high tale there asses out. how much am i looking to get a r31 diff (28 spline) shortend and how hard is it to link up the disc brakes? any help appreciated Jamin

Hi All, recently I was given a vacuum gauge and I was jusrt wondering what a vaccum gauge actually tells you. I hooked it up to the line from my vaccum advance on the dizzy that runs to the carb. the vacuum seems to build up when accelerationg until the second butterfly opens it then goes down. is the vaccum just pressure building up between the time of the fiirst opening and the secondary opening??

I'm trying to install a towbar on my van at the moment, and it doesn't have a harness for the trailer. I found a cable that had been cut off, it has 5 wires in it. Anyone here know much about trailers? not sure if it is a harness or not, and if it is, what wires to use when i connect a plug. any help would be appreciated :dance:

Hi All, I know this has probably been covered before, When I installed my twin carbs I never bothere dhooking up the choke mechanism as I was missing a couple of bits from the l9inkage set up and It doesnt take all that long for my car to warm up. so anyway cutting to the chase... Am I able to remove my choke butterfliies?? If so will there be any difference to anything?? power, Idle, Induction noise, fuel..... and is it as easy as unscrewing them?? please inform me if you know.... cheers Jono!!.

Picked up a nippon denso electronic distributor ,with internal ignitor. What i need to no is what sort of coil do i run with it,brand and numbers would be helpful. Also there is two wires coming out of it ,one black,and one black with orange tracer on it :dance: . Thanks inadvance rob :dance:

Hi All, It's me again with another possibly dumb question. IOn my carbs I have a few vacuum connections, and I wanted to know what the vaccum connection on the top of the carb just below the lip for the airfilter is for. (# 2 in pic) I have one on both of my Aisin carbs on my twin carb seyup. Also Why is it that only one of my carbs has the connection for the bottom vacuum that I believe goes to the Vacuum advance. (# 1 in pic) around there. sorry for bad picture any help would be much appreciated. P.S I don't have as many vacuum lines as the one in the pic.

I own a 5K KE55, and last night at 85% full throttle into a 4th gear corner, I backed off and negotiated through, and noticed the car start to cough and shudder as if it were choking, or misfiring or it was starved, and proceeded to spit and cough and carry on until stalling. It wont hold a steady idle, revs up and down and carries on quite roughly, and cuts out. First thought was a fuel problem, so I got it going and limped it home. Where it would violently shudder and spit and cough until ¾ throttle where it would appear fine and purr away? Upon limping home I first checked the fuel flow as I run an external elec pump. Hi all, I have a 1980 ke55 auto, and am changing it to a ke55 5-speed manual. I started the conversion today but when I went to bolt in the 5-speed, the shifter and gearbox crossmember didn't line up. :lmao: So I am just wondering is it as simple as changing it to the ke70 5-speed extension housing which has the shifter in the further back position. This should hopefully line up the gearstick with the original selector hole, but do I need a ke70 5-speed rear crossmember, as I currently have a ke55 manual crossmember and it won't line up with the mounting holes in the floor. Hey guys, I got a 4ke injection off teddy on here. And i i would really like to get a workshop manual or something, so i can hook it all up or any information. It doesnt look that hard to me to hook it up. I got some pages from a big workshop manual, but i only took out the corolla stuff, it was from back in the day when i was a mechanic, because i thought it might come in handy, but i only took it all out because i had a ke55 for a paddock basher. Now I'm not sure, where i put it all, but i know it is amongst all my corolla and valiant stuff somewhere. But yeah, any information will be good thanks :lmao:

Hey guys. My weber's accelerator mechanism is sticking... Whenever I take my foot off the accelerator, it (accelerator thing at weber end of cable) gets all sticky and I have to kinda kick it and give it revs for it to become unstuck... as you can imagine I look like a complete tool revving at traffic lights and everytime I stop, and it's making driving not fun at all... can anyone suggest a way to fix this? I went and wasted $10 on wd40 since I wasn't at home and it didn't fix it at all... Cheers. Edit: Should mention that this is a reconditioned carby and hasn't been on my long enough to succumb to wear/crap inside it.

alright here's my problem i have an aftermarked steering wheel on my car now but as of last night its been makin an unusual clicking noise when i turn it slightly to the right it sounds like its comin from the indicators any ideas? its quite frustrating

I recently changed the cvs on my ae92 as it was knocking very badly. Now after a month the knocking came back only when I turn right and got foot off clutch,then as soon as I put my foot on the clutch the knocking dissapears again. Is it time to change the bearings as well is this what may cause the noise? Any Info would be apreciated.

A combination of an uncalibrated tension wrench and/or, weak bolts and carelessness, has left me with a broken flywheel bolt for my smallport. We have managed to remove the broken bolt. Now what can i do? does anyone have any laying around? Particularly Adelaide? ASAP>? Should i ask for genuine toyota, or can i match the bolts at a motor traders. etc provioded they are high tensile steel and exact dimensions? Wreckers even? furthermore, should i replace just the one, or a whole set of 8, seeing as one broke, i don't want to take a risk with any others...if so, will a wrecker be fine or should i try source brand new? thanks guys

my light doesnt come on when i open the door anymore, I'm thinking its the switches on the door have gotten old. the light is switched to door and it works fine when i set it to on. where can you buy new ones? or should i try my luck with the wreckers, or is there sumthing else i can do?

hi i bought a saas boss kit for my ke55 and it fitted the spline and everything good but the thread on the column wasnt long enough to put the nut on, anyone else had this problem? and what boss kit fits? at one autoparts shop they said there is a long and short shaft column in the corollas is this true?

Hi guys, Torqued the head up on my 5k and slapped all the rocker gear in. OH OH valves hit pistons first go. Bugger. I pulled the rods out, they were about 156mm long, so I dug around a bit and found some 150.5 long items and they went in perfect. I'm guessing the longer ones are off an early K engine? (Kangaroosa, you might be looking for some longer rods I think they're the ones I got from you with the cam!) Anyway, the shorter rods gave me lifter preloads from 1.1-1.6mm as best I can measure. For you other 5K builders does this sound about right? I originally measured one at about 2mm but I redid it and got it about 1.6. The longer lengths are on the i…

So I went to put in my 46.5mm welsh plug that I got from Sprints. Damn bastards gave me the wrong one, so I rang them and they said "nah we've never sold one that size" No kidding. Has anyone else had the same issues getting hold of a new one of these welsh plugs? Only Toyota can get one, they're not sure which is which so I just got them to order both back ones...... Now I have an unknown period to wait and it will hold up the engine install! I fly back to work monday so it'll be another 3 weeks before I get the damn car going....

i got front and rear wrap around bars, i put the front on but it isnt sitting right. do the models that came with it have a different front apron or something? or different mounts to the standard ones so it sits back further? i got mine posted and he only sent the bumper, no mounts. it sucks that it doesnt look right and i want to know why.

hey all i need help was sold a coil and ignitor, apparently for my smallport. problem is - were having troubles identifying exactly what the 4 wires correspond to... we have every single wiring diagram and pin out diagram the internet can host in several hours of foruming and googling! apparently smallport ignitors arent supposed to have 4 wires either... apparently? do i have a camry ignitor or something? or should i stop listening to my mates who say my shit is wrong? can anyone confirm this? HELP!

Hi all i was after a fuel cap to fit a ke36 i was wondering if any one had a spare they would part with for $$ or would no were i could get one (preferably original) i have alredy bought a couple from diffrent places but they have been crappy generic cpc brand ones that continue to leak fuel down the side of my panel leaving ugly stains (also how would i go about removing the fuel stains in the paint)-the ajax isnt cutting it any help appreciated thanks guys
