Hey everyone, my car soudns alright drivign around town and stuff, but at 100 on the highway i get a real loud noise, ive been told its wheel bearings, searchedo n ehre and heard wheel bearings or diff. it doesnt seem to fit a bad diff diagnosis. it does sound more like noise from the wheels rolling along, is it due to bad insulation of the cars not blocking out enough noise, or just sum stuffed wheel bearings. autobarn said 40bux a set for front and rear, would that be all id have to buy? or will i need seals and grease and stuff? I'm not to sure what a wheel bearing looks like.

i am pretty keen to put some globe(sigma turbo) rims on my ke55 but unsure whether they will fit. has any of you got them on your cars or know whether i can get them on with minor hassles? thanks a lot

On page two http://www.kp61.net/forum/showthread.php?t=3206&page=2 He has cut a portion out of the cross member instead of modding the sump. I was wondering if this is a good idea or not? Any thoughts will be welcome.

Hey everyone, how much would it cost for a gregorys manual for a ke55? i keep finding them on websites for around 60-80 dollars, theres none on ebay atm, but ive searched and foudn that alot of you on here have them. I'm pretty sure wherever i go they will have to be ordered in, I'm just wanting a heads up so i don't get my pants pulled down over the price. I'm hoping its around 40, same as the manuals they have in stock at supercheap.

Hey guys, would anyone know the offset of the gen10 rolla? i'll be calling up toyota in the morning, but doubting they'd know.. I'm looking to get some wheels, but want to make sure the offset is right, would +50 offset be too high?!?!

With the power upgrades occuring to the corona, something has to be done about the suspension, which was to say rubbish. Since I don't have a front subframe at the moment I started with the rear suspension. To my pleasent suprise RT40 coronas have 5 rear leaves (corolla's only have 4,) thus the the decision was quickley made to invert and clamp the bottom 3 leaves on top. This has the effect of flattening out the leaf stack (lowring the car) and making the stack much, much stiffer. just wondering if anyone can tell me how to get rid of boost cut on a ca18det, i know that i can just run a resistor to the signal wire of the airflow meter but not sure what kind of resistor to run. apparently you can even get a adjustable resistor.

Hey all, just trying to organise some rear shocks for my ae71 4age sedan & wondering if any one would be able to tell us which model suzuki sierra front shocks to ask for while ordering?? Also wondering, i know the strut insert diameter for the ae86's are 51mm & ke70's are 43mm and the ae71's are the same as ke70's aren't they??? cheers tom

Hi all, I am new to this site and love the knowledge that is on it. I have found it however a little hard to source information via the search feature, being a new member. I have an idea on a section that could be added to this site, A 'Tech write up section' where experienced members can submit a write up on a conversion or modification, for example brake upgrades for a KE20, or 4age in ke30. The would be an like an online e-book where people couldn't post replies and to post an 'article' it would have to be submitted to a mod, where it could be briefly looked over for correctness and stuff. I have a ke 30 with a 13b turbo puting out 380 kw at the wheels. I have got r31 brakes on the rear but i need sumthin bigger on the front and a bigger brake booster just after sume info on what will be an easy fit straight on with out any major opperation cheers

The back right window in my ae82 corolla doesn't wind up or down tith the windo winder thing, there is a big scratch out of the tinting, so i decided to take the door trim off to fix it. i don't care if the window has to be permanently shut because it is currently about 5 centimetres open and i can pull it up but then it falls back down if i hit a bump or something. Is there a way to remove the door trim so when it goes back on it will still be flush and wont look like it has been ripped off ( i have removed the screw in the door opener and 2 other screws in the door handle thing.) i think i have to take the window winder off aswell? thanks, Mark

hi, well basicly i just baught a ae71 a few weeks agow and i herd that this is a common occurance in the tail lights according to sbox so i decided i'd have a go at trying to repair it insted of buying new ones because the rest of the light fitting is fine its just that area I basicly just measured it up cut some cardboard out to suit the size this is just taped on just to show u what it looks like i fitted it up and taped it on for now this photo is not that good i plan on some sort of fiberglassing it in and make it to shape which i'll do tomorrow

hey everyone i heard that someone is making 215rw hp out of a turbo k5 engine. i was just wondering what was done to it as I'm trying to build one at the moment i was going to change my engine to something newer but thought stuff it straight gas and turbo is that is was i run on my other car. any help on this would be awsome guys thanks

Is there any brake upgrade thats relatively simple and not 'custom made' kinda thing also reasonable cheap? If anyones done one or can point me in the right direction? cheers!

hey i was just wondering anyone knows if fiberglass front gaurds bonnet and boot is legal in the state of victoria as I'm trying thinking of getting some made up for my ke15 corolla i was thinking it might be legal as it is full chassis. also if anyone would mind one aswell ill love to organise to get them for someone i should be getting the bonnet at the start of next month. and the rest slowly bit by bit. thanks heaps

Hi All, I picked a pair of these up a little while ago and have been meaning to get around to paying them the attention the require. They had been sitting for a few years, but the butterfly's still move in a nice smooth motion and with a decent clean they should come up nice. I am thinking about buying a DHLA40 rebuild kit, something like this... Ok last 2 nights same thing has happened. last night i drove my car around abit in the day, went to a mates at night, stayed there for a few hours and went to leave at about 2am my car woudlnt start, so i first checked if i was getting spark (by getting the dizzy end of the main lead and holding it close to the body of the car while turning the car over, it was only sparking about once a second, when it should have been doing about 4 a second i got a lift home and went back today at around midday with another coil and a few different leads, tried different lead and coil combinations and still the same thing, then after doing this for a while got my mate to call the…

My 4k blew the head gasket so Its a good time to get the head shaved to give it a bit more power how much would you recommend taking off I'm thinking around 20 thou but tell me what you think. :dance:

hi everybody i am wondering on if anyone has a ke70 khana cross or rally car as i am thinking of building one but i know the tank is hanging out the bottom of the car and don't want to put a whole in it how hard would it be to adapt a ke30 or 55 tank into the boot??

Hi all. I have heard rumors that the Red Coolant used by Toyota has been causing corrosion in engines after about 10 years, and Toyota servicing are removing it after the Warranty period to put a better Green product in. Has anyone heard this, is it just a rumor? I heard it through a friend who knows a Toyota specific service agent. Any one else had similar problems? Grant

now that i got your attention lol About to put K40 box onto the 4k, just need to clarify a few Q's before i go dropping motor in 1) I'm assuming if the clutch is not alingned properly the gearbox wont go on? i think i have it fine, box goes on and comes off ok. 2) How is the throwout bearing attached? i know it sits ontop of the Clutch fork. but what next? just put box on? 3) How do make sure timing is good before i crank over motor? the dizzy was half out when i got motor and i want to make sure its not way way out of timing, like 180 degrees backwards or whatever. 4) i got 2 4 speed boxes. the one I'm going to use has 2 prong's for something electrical to ho…

wen i bought my Ke70 in 2006 it came with a 4k block in the boot however the motor in the engine bay is a 4k-u with the dished pistons. ill be keeping one of the blocks and getting bored out etc. anyway my question is would it be possible to put the flat top pistons in the 4k-u block for better compression or would they hit the valves or cause any problems? EDIT: i will be putting the original 4k head back on aswell

Guys I have a 5 speed box from a KE55, what do I need to do to the box to make it fit in my KE70? The KE70 box is longer and is only a 4 speed... ive had a look at the Knowledge Base and it mentioned that 4 & 5 speed extension housings arent interchangable to each other. Does it mean though, that I can put the 5 speed KE70 extension housing on the KE55 5 speed box and fit it into my KE70? are the front part of the boxes the same.... thanks

I'm wondering if anyone can help with some knowledge on my KE10 tacho dash? I bought this dash some time ago and pulled it out of the cupboard to clean and repair it as a couple of the little coloured plastic lenses were floating around in it. My question is, on the pic, below the tacho and speedo what goes where? There was a blue lense floating around and i imagine that is for high beam, but which side? Also what colour lense should the other side be and what sort of warning light is it? Any help is appreciated, Matt...

after thinking about a manual conversion and after seeing a pedal box for $200 wtf i was wondering is it possible to use a ke70 pedal box? and then use it for the hydraulic conversion? And are ther any other pedal boxes beside ae71 or t-18 that can be used? Cheers Bill

I own a 5K KE55, and last night at 85% full throttle into a 4th gear corner, I backed off and negotiated through, and noticed the car start to cough and shudder as if it were choking, or misfiring or it was starved, and proceeded to spit and cough and carry on until stalling. It wont hold a steady idle, revs up and down and carries on quite roughly, and cuts out. First thought was a fuel problem, so I got it going and limped it home. Where it would violently shudder and spit and cough until ¾ throttle where it would appear fine and purr away? Upon limping home I first checked the fuel flow as I run an external elec pump. i got front and rear wrap around bars, i put the front on but it isnt sitting right. do the models that came with it have a different front apron or something? or different mounts to the standard ones so it sits back further? i got mine posted and he only sent the bumper, no mounts. it sucks that it doesnt look right and i want to know why.

okay guys, me and a few mates have a little competition going. we have set ourselves a budget of $500 to spend on getting a car and modifying it. then we are taking these cars to an undisclosed location, and having a series of little comps. well, ive pretty much purchased a ke70 corolla which is going to leave me with $300. now. i was thinking of removing all interior and any hanging panels. is their anything in the engine bay i could remove to gain some weight back? also, i have a air filter laying around form a 4wd race car, would this be two big for the little 1.3? also is their any cheap mods i can do to get this thing moving along?
