Hey guys, I'm installing the air con back into my girlfriends ke70 and have a couple of things i'm not so sure with how they run through the engine bay without interfering with other things. I've had a bit of a search and found teddy's "Installing air con into a ke70 that didn't come out from factory with it", but i'm pretty sure i'm missing the hard line that goes from the "out" side of the receiver to the top metal bit on the cooling unit. But just to make sure on how things go, is there anyone out there still running air con in there ke70 that could take a few detailed pics from there engine bay just to make sure i've got it how it's meant to be? hey people just wanting to know if ke30 struts and brakes will fit onto a ke17 sprinter? just as a quick upgrade. from what i can see they run a leaf spring from side to side. if it can be done could this leaf be removed?

I'm just curious i have read other places that to use the sr brakes in a ke one of the things you need to do is use a s13, r32 3 or 4 abs master, why is this, couldnt you just use a standard s13 or r3 yadada... why is this and is it nessacary. and does anyone know what they are worth and what not. cheers, moz,

Hi All, I know this has probably been covered before, When I installed my twin carbs I never bothere dhooking up the choke mechanism as I was missing a couple of bits from the l9inkage set up and It doesnt take all that long for my car to warm up. so anyway cutting to the chase... Am I able to remove my choke butterfliies?? If so will there be any difference to anything?? power, Idle, Induction noise, fuel..... and is it as easy as unscrewing them?? please inform me if you know.... cheers Jono!!.

I recently changed the cvs on my ae92 as it was knocking very badly. Now after a month the knocking came back only when I turn right and got foot off clutch,then as soon as I put my foot on the clutch the knocking dissapears again. Is it time to change the bearings as well is this what may cause the noise? Any Info would be apreciated.

My window winders are doing the normal jam thing as I wind down. A little pressure on the glass helps. I have replaced the drivers front one before. I have two spare rear dorrs and was wondering if anyone knows if you can swap them? Also, what is the best dry lube to use on the mechanism? And yes, I went and bought that special tool......... hey guys, planning on getting a ae71 corolla as a project, just interested into whether ae86 coilover suspension is a direct bolt on job or is there some playing around? as i have been told its been done but thought you guys would be the ones to ask :) also what is the best brake conversion? thanks

I need to center the wheels with the steering wheel. I really can not be bothered to take it down to a wheel alignment place because i would need to hire a tow truck to get it there. Is there any diy approach to line up the wheels fairly accurately? Cheers J

Hi, Been doing some reading on Toyota ECU's and found there are a few types of ECU. Analouge and Digital. The old Analogue ones were on the motors like 4K-E and 3t engine etc. It is the L-jetronnic made by Bosch. Now later ones are the TCCS type which are digital eg. 4age. Now I know the 7K-E injections was made later than 4K and the pin out is similar on the 7K one to the 4age one. Can any one tell me for certain if the 7K ECU is of the newer TCCS type? Also does anyone have the 7K-E manual handy I can get emailed? Cheers Cameron

Hi. I have an earlier '79 KE70 Rolla. I want to lower it but i have been told that there are no springs for it. So what do you guys do ? Cut the springs ? I have a TE71 for parts maybe i can fit the struts from it and put AE86 springs on ? Thank you :dance:

I'm new to rolla scene. now get in the car tonight to drive home. and i hear whilst I'm moving 20kph. CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK constantly coming from right hand front.. and the steering pulling massively to the right.. any ideas on what this could be? wheel bearing? control arm? Hello Folks, I hope you will bear with me a bit. Newbie here. I am struggling with problems with an Aisin 2 barrel carb on 4K-C engine. Truth be told....on an 81 Starlet, not a Rolla....but hope someone here might lend a hand. Found out about this forum over at Toyotanation. Just finished rebuilding this little gem. Have about 1000 miles on it and it was running like a top, although I did notice it would start immediately with manual choke, then would hit fast idle as choke pushed off. Hi everyone. I have a KE70 1982 and when i turn on the lights the high beem doesnt come on. when i flip towards the steering wheel then it comes on but when i flip back it doesnt. the lights are on when i try. thanks Scott

Hi, I have a AE92 and I'm doing a engine conversion to the 100kw 4age. Now I have the engine almost ready to go in but i need those inner cv joint cups off the old gearbox. Does anyone know how to get em off? I ahve it down to the bare tranny. Thanks Ian

hi guys, i was just wondering to put a 4A engine into a KE70, can you use an AE86 crossmember or does it have to be an AE71 one? i can seem to find any information on the AE86 crossmember, only stuff on the AE71. any help will be appreciated, cheers hendo.

Ok so I'm new here and have had a bit of a read of the post's on the KE20's and the diffs. Well the time has come to replace my stock 20 diff. The car is running a Blue Top 4AGE with no modifications. I have been reading that the T series would be ideal only problem is trying to find one. So brings me to the question How good are the S Series diff's and the E series? Also considered putting a 105 series Alfa diff in which would only require the shorting of one side has anyone done this before? Also i assume that it is not possible to put a T series head in a S series housing? Any opinions would be appreciated.

Hi All, when I bought my second 4k quite some time ago as well as the complete motor the guy I bought it off gave me a cam with iot that has already been ground. now on the end of the cam the code " T121 " has been manually ground into it, does anyone know what grind this may be. the guy I bought it off was from west Auckland in NZ. I was just hoping maybe someone knew so I don't have to pay $100 to get it camdoctored just to find out what the grind is. I need to know because I need to find out whether I will need to upgrade the bvalve springs or not.

hey guys, so I'm told mx62 and 73 cressida front brake calipers have a different mount, can i overcome this buy just getting the part that the callipers slide on and are mounted to the backing plate with? thanks guys, casey

Hey guys I'm a car noob with a rad rolla......but theres just somethin wrong with it, its a blacktop 20 valve in an ae92.... i got it a full servive after i bought it, but its running at about half its power and is using shit loads of fuel. and its not the airlfow meter. anyhelp would be awsome cheers

trying to source mx62 calipers for my brake upgrade ive been to 7 wreakers so far and emailed and rung dosens of people , i can get the mx73 calipers but not sure of how close they are to the 62s,also can get the earlyer ones , but realy just want the 62s as I'm using the guide from toymods , hoping this will work well for my aplication , any one seen any mx62s in wreakers in melbourne??? or does some one wanta sell me a good pair? pay for frieght also i notice the ra60s are always gutted at the wreakers ! any advice who or where i can try next! thanks

what should the timing be on my 4kc motor be i have a webber 32/36 carb on it and extractors if that makes any difference i looked on search but can't find anything

In my waygon it looks like the diff is really short in comparison to my old waygon is there different length standard diffs??

The dizzy on my 2tg is locked. My carby guy said it would be better if it wasn't and explained all the pros of having one that allows advance through the rev range. So my question before I go out and get the dizzy repaired/replaced What are the advantages of it being locked?

Hi guys, I have got a Suzuki Sierra ute with a 5k motor in it. Does anyone have the correct settings for the points??? I have bought some new points but i don't know what the correct gap is supposed to be. Any info would be great. Cheers

I am looking at getting a ke25 a putting just a standard rebuilt 4age into it. i am wondering if the W55 gearbox will fit in with no floor cutting or enlarging the gearbox tunnen ( i know i will need to modify bellhousing). i don't want to go T50 because later i will put a 4age turbo thats around 200kw and i don't want to have to change gearbox again. would rather have the stronger W55 straight away. any help on this conversion would be apreciated cheers

When removiung the camshaft on a 4k, am I able to pull the lifters out of the engine through the head or do I need to use a magnet to hold them up as I slide the cam out?? I am aware that I will need to take off the rocker gear and pull out the pushrods.

Hey all, have the KE55 off the road at the moment.. getting stripped and converted... my daily is now a GP Turbo, Corolla 2! perfect little car, 1.5 turbo sohc. BUT lol i know nothing about the car itself, stock boost? at the moment. when i accelerate it takes off, and boosts up but appears to stall for a split second. and then it takes off again, how ever seems to have much lower boost. say from 7psi to 3psi... turn the car off. start again and away it goes.. i have seen on some other images that there appears to be a BOOST switch on the dash.. could this be causing the issue? it appears to be a high / low boost switch standard! or could it…
