Got my hands finally on a Carter 4594, will have a hand at installing it this weekend. I wired up the fuel relay last weekend, using a horn relay 30-40A. The car is carby mechanically driven fuel pump. What do I need to know? Do I need to empty out the fuel tank? I was going to just lay newspapers on the floor, is there a better way to catch the fuel left in the lines? Sounding silly, but any tips appreciated.

Hi all I'm supposed to be doing the head gasket on my brothers AE82 tomorrow and I've just realised that I don't have the manual at work. Anybody got a link for an online manual for an AE82? Anybody done one before? Any tips :P

Ok I need some help guys I've got a ke70 which is standard at the mo but with in the next few weeks it's going to get some work done to it, some 4:2:1 xtractors and a 2" xshaust my next mod is a cam I've been doing a bit of reading and sent a few emails, wade cam reackon there 104 profile and I'm left with the 104 and 112 profile from tighe cam, I had a 2t with a grinded cam in it its power band would start around the 3500-3800rpm range and would pull hard till about the 7000rpm range which I realy liked and it had a nice lumpy idel which is realy what I'm after, so basicly out if the three which is going to be similar to my 2t cam as I realy liked it and wouldn't mind…

hey I've just swapped the head on my old mans 4k, the car idles but if u go anything over 2000rpm or so it dies. Just wondering if anyone knew why?? could it just be the points or something?

can anyone confirm one way or another whether a k series stud spacing on the carburettor is the same as a y series carburettor? looking at putting a dgv onto a y series engine (2.2lt) and I'm working out the cheapest easiest way to do it. Robert.

Hi Guys, I've got a set of KE30 stock rims laying around (114.3) and I'm thinking of drilling them out to fit my KE20 (110). :) Has anyone had a go at this? It sounds pretty dodgy but its a cheap alternative. I guess if the hub holds the rim in place it will stop any play in the rim. Cheers Vinnie.

Hi, Ive recently done a swap from a KE70 to a KE55 extension housing on a 5 speed, no problem lining it up or anything. The problem I'm having is that before i changed the housing it all changed gears nicely, no problems, no I'm putting the KE55 one and i can't manage to change gears any more. Ive tried aligning the gear shifter to the correct gear and everything, but i still have no luck, i can't even change the gear using the control inside the extension housing. Any ideas Cheers

hey I've been talking about this on another forum, and there seems to be mixed opinion as to the merit of heat wrapping exhaust extractors, one train of thought goes that this will contain heat in the exhaust pipe, which promotes greater gas speed and better scavenging, and also this reduces under bonnet temperatures, the other train of thought goes that this will cause the extractors to crack from overheating, and they will also corrode away faster, thus negating the benefits especially on a road-going car. Hi i have recently rebuilt my 4age ae82 twin cam engine with 4agze pistons. standard throttle body got the inlet whole port and polished along with the head and some lil mods to the butter flys that open and close. hks cams and gears not sure of specs have them written on the cam sheet gotta dig it out but I'm looking at getting it dynoed. can they change any think or over ride any setting in the computer to make it faster or any thing like that ect ? looking at fitting super charger in the future thats why i went with stronger pistons and all that sorta stuff.. please any info would be great cheers

hey, just wondering if anybody can get a hold of a wiring diagram for the ac system on my 1990 toyota dyna yh81r, I've got something not hooked up or missing around the distributor/ac control area and my ac won't turn on..... its been pulled apart for ages, and I've just resurrected it (components/leaks/gas/etc) but I can't turn it on!!!! it was a kettering ignition system and its been converted to electronic, and I'm thinking an RPM signal is missing, but not quite sure :thumbsup: Robert.

My ke70 has developed a rather annoying diff whine, had it up the hoist today and removed the backing plate there was a bit of backlash/ delay when spinning the driveshaft, the spider gears looked a bit shagged but all teeth were there pinnion and crown looked ok, few things I would like to know a) what's the most common bearing to go in a ke70 rear end, axle bearings or pinion bearing as my whine is continuous even while coasting which are symptoms of both bearings, b) if it was from the slack within the spider gears would welding them together stop the whine? Any info would be great.

hey guys wanting to chuck a new diff/ diff head in my ke20 as this one has shat itself. my question is what diff head will bolt straight to my original diff without taking it out or if i was to take it out what diff would bolt straight in for example would a kp60 starlet diff head bolt on or a ke30? any help would be much appreciated

can any one give me some info or help, trying to fit some front seats to my ke35, i don't have original seats but i would like some as they would bolt straight up but trying to find seats is a nightmare. ive bought aftermarket mounts and rails to fit my aftermarket bucket seats and they did not fit , its getting o my nerves as its something simple. ke30 seats don't fit as they are 400mm wide from bolt hole to bolt hole where as ke35 sr is 390mm. any info or suggsestions would be great.

hey guys i just found a turbo setup for the k series engine and i was wondering if its worth the time to turbo the 4k or just do a complete engine swap. would like to know from some people who have turbo k's and would like to know output and work involved doing so. cheers guys

G-day my name is pat i've started a 20v conversion into a ke 10 its attached to a supra 5 speed then to a VR holden diff I mechined up a tail shaft to, a friend has done most of the work leaving me to the small bits,now for the question do the 4agze forged pistons have enough valve clearance when the 20v head is bolted on and running i do know when turned over by hand they don't hit anything but by how much???

gday guys.. thinking of converting the rear drums to disk on a ke30 so i can run hydro handbrake and would just prefer to run disks.. is it a hard job? can i just get the front assembely off another ke30 and put it on the back? I'm guessing ill need a different brake master cylinder? ive been told that because its such a light car the disk brakes wont be as effective.. anyway cheers in advance |blink|

I have a '83 KE70 with the stockers 4K in it, i've just finished cutting out all the rust and am in the finally stages of priming her (she got stripped back to metal). Now before i go putting on my extractors and new carby and stuff (thanks to the fellas on this wonderful site) i was going over all the safety stuff to make sure she holds up and low and behold i've found myself a brake fluid leak! :) It's leaking from underneath the reservoir where you put the brake fluid in and its draining itself at a pretty constant rate.
