  1. I should add Amco are a long established aftermarket supplier you would buy at your friendly local parts supplier. If you have been sold this as a genuine toyota SL knob, you have been seriously miss led.
  2. Definitely not SL. Mine is the same as in the brochure and it's not actual wood.
  3. coln72 is correct 155 13's Everything had small wheels and tyres back then. Going huge on older cars is a modern failing
  4. $50 - $100 tops. They have small axles so you use a zenki diff centre. You can pick up diff centres cheap on yahoo obviously taking a punt on condition. Absolutely do not weld it.
  5. I know nothing about the subject, but surely that's a big call? I would expect Toyota's geometry to be a manufacturers compromise, and partly a result of using a recirculating ball system for simplicity and cost. But surely it depends on the degree of modification planned for the car? Rob's car from memory was anything but standard.
  6. Really enjoying your thread. Hopefully these may assist you in your planning, along with the measurements from others. KE2x geometry 1.pdf KE2x geometry 2.pdf KE2x geometry 3.pdf KE2x geometry 4.pdf Centre tie rod pin outer to centre tie rod pin inner each side is quoted as approx 335.6mm (13.213") Edit: Just remembered I had one loose in the shed. The Drag link is 410mm from centre tie rod mount to centre tie rod mount - measurement B. That's measured with a tape measure on a drag link out of a car.
  7. Why buy someones incomplete project. You have no accurate idea what the body is like and bits are missing. They are not that uncommon. Wait for a complete car in good condition.
  8. My 2 cents. Go for it with the caveats as above. If you are thinking of keeping it long term, which presumably you are, I would hang out and find a standard KE55 XX coupe. In years to come, it will be the most desirable one to have.
  9. All Australian delivered rear wheel drive Celicas were single cam. LT's and some ST's. That includes the later RA40's RA60's SA63's etc Lots of 2tg's and 18rg's were brought in by importers and were a simple bolt in change. There is more to a GT than just the engine though.
  10. I couldn't think of a better name! To think how far that car has come. Harvie put his heart and soul into it too. And now you get to put your sweat and hopefully not too many tears into it. If I ever get up to cairns to visit the rello's, I'll be keeping a look out for it.
  11. These things are becoming more popular than AE86's. Incredibly practical cars. I must have one.
  12. I'm loving your work too! If I may ask, how much did you pay for the solex kits?
  13. Great news re the house! I lie in bed at night wondering how the hell I would ever move everything should we buy elsewhere....... Interesting re the channel 10 thing. Wasn't through the agents?
  14. Not SL, badly upholstered seats, smashed up dashpad for a start. No closeup photos of the body etc it looks to need a lot of work, and replacement parts are very hard to find
  15. He's dreaming
  16. The one on ebay from NSW? Depends on condition and completeness, and how you feel about originality. SL vs non SL. etc etc.
  17. You might want to go one plug colder in the heat range.
  18. On the first diagram you posted (don't post screen shots from that site!) the thing identified as a "hub - 31231" is the bearing carrier. It fits over and slides along the bearing retainer, which is the pipe that fits over the splined gearbox input shaft. The thrust bearing 31231A is pressed onto the hub. The fork 31240 pushes and pulls the hub up and down the bearing retainer in response to hydraulic pressure when you operate the clutch pedal. The bearing itself presses against the clutch cover (pressure plate) springs allowing the clutch plate to be released from the flywheel when you push in the clutch. it also has little clips to keep the hub located properly on the fork. Often (but not always) when you buy a thrust bearing from US aftermarket part suppliers, it comes already pressed onto the carrier which is a nifty way to obtain the carrier which is usually missing when you buy a gearbox which has been standing for a while. Clearly you need the right hub, bearing and fork. The retainer clip types are also different between early T50's and later T50's. I'm not up on the various clutch setups, but it looks like you have an early type cast clutch fork. Yours looks the later type which used a pressed steel fork. So you need to determine which box you have so you can order the correct parts. There is lots of discussion on the various forums about identifying T50's so it shouldn't be too hard. I'll even buy that the fork and carrier off you if you like - for a good price!
  19. Lots of T engined stuff on 3TCgarage.com
  20. I suspect he is referring to the 4AGE era book, not the tosco K engine book
  21. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/70190-ke35-market-value/page__p__687414__hl__+market%20+value#entry687414 http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/41353-what-is-it-worth/page__hl__%20market%20%20value http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/37531-ke30-55s/page__hl__%20market%20%20value
  22. #k's and 4K's much easier to find than a K when time came for a fresh engine, plus they are bigger, so why not. The keys work because the key and the lock are both worn out. common knowledge that one Corolla key will fit any other.....
  23. Pop them on ebay and you will soon find out what they are worth
  24. Correct. Although the one on the left is likely a direct replacement for an Aus boot badge. I think you need two of the one on the right and they fit on the front guards under the Corolla badge. One on it's own isn't much good Edit: sorry per your original query. The condition is only so so. Plus you don't mention if the pins are intact or not.
  25. Assuming you are in Melb, why not come along to a Toyota Car Club Vic meeting? From memory (but on the webpage) it is the second Tuesday of the month, held at Bell's Hotel in Sth Melb. You can find out about the aims, requirements and expectations on you for club reg, as well as finding out a bit more about what the club gets up to. There really is something for everyone. You are sure to find some like minded people there. And make sure you come to Classic Japan in December, which the club organises. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/70666-classic-japan-2014-december-7-como-park-south-yarra/
