  1. 4.7 or 4.8 best to ask the gravel gurus trd Tony or Craig supra. thats my suggestion. rob
  2. Sorry about that Brent thought they where all the same (ke30 ke55) but not the case . Thanks for the correction Banjo. rob
  3. Just looking at the line you have a pic of i would say that its the main fuel line ,being on the right side . From memrory the fuel tank vent crossed over from the right side to left near the bell housing. The charcoal canister was part of the battery hold down clamp. I'm sure some one has a pic of the original set up. rob
  4. Yes there where two lines that returned to the front of the car . One the main fuel line. The other smaller one fuel tank vent to the charcoal canistar near the battery .

  7. Your friend is right ,according to books i have the DHLA 40F,G,H,L AND N. are emissions carbs hard to get the progression phase right. The ones you want are DHLA40 (no letters). No i havent used them but they just as good as webers from all reports. rob
  8. All i can say is becarefull ,remember poor man pays twice. Rob
  9. Agree the lean option is great but jesus its not cheap!! Remember that the t50 box, is old now all of them. Most would be like WRX box ,never flogged ;) .But not made of glass!!!like subies. If your had it rebuilt i would take it back and ask some questions.
  10. Out put shaft is different ,you can change the front yoke (same uni) The problem is that the bell housing will bolt up but leak oil ,a lot of oil . There was a write up on toyomods about it years ago. The shifter position is also different position about 17 -20mm foward. It all gets messy . I would try to ae71 or ae86 box save your self some grief or maybe a lot of sh#t. The box you proberly have is a ta22 box. rob
  11. Good idea Kieth, you truely are a wizard !!! rob
  12. What about a write up Jono? If its legal of course.I think there would be a lot of owners including me that would love to get rid of my f##ked steering box. FAQ !!!!maybe???
  13. Depends on lot of things .Have you heard it running?compression test? Remember its a old engine which will cost a lot to rebuild. There big heavy ,but cool as !!!! 500-1500 dollars thats my guess others may have different view. Good for period rebuilds but IMO over priced . Rob
  14. I'm using the fake OMP 3rd from top it seems ok so far. You don't want any thing thats going to flex to much. don't use wood,!!!!!!!
  15. wHAT ARE TURBOS is it some new thing ,like yo yos. Like face tube thing!!! BA! it will be gone by xmas Hi Keith
  16. HA Ha !sorry but the way you worded it is what YOU would expect .No hilux diff will bolt in but some are close RN40 is 1410 mm which is from memory about 15 mm a side wider than STD. There is a early hilux which is about 1360 ish which is close to std but you still have to cut off the mounts and re weld them. As well change the the drive yoke or drive shaft. But as its a hack job it doesnt matter ,as will have to be changed any way. good luck A
  17. Its a how long is a piece of string question . 1;How much can you do your self? 2;budget how much can you spend on it? 3; Have you a shed that you can do it in ,tools to do the work. 4 Remember that the coupes are getting harder to find ,there for demand more money. 5 the old saying to build a great car, first start with a good car.(pay the extra for a good one to start not a rust bucket bondo bus) There a lot of helpful guys on this forum. I d say if you have the money to do it go for it. Sadly a lot of projects end half finished in the for sale section, thru lack of planning and funds. As far as how much it would cost depends on what and how far you go 100-50000 the skys the limit!!!!(do a budget)and try stick to it. Welcome to rolla club Rob
  18. Nice find Seb, I have to ask ,have you got a celica addiction ??? How many have you got?Not that you could have to many ,but wow !!!! Nice shed !!!! cheers rob
  19. Yep its all about having a go ,not letting mummy and daddy pay for it . Nice work so far ,should turn out good. Clapped out, 5 coupes !!!!give your self an upper cut bitch ha ha. rob
  20. Just as styler said you need the hub that the bearing fits to ,as well as the clips which i no you can buy new . The box looks like the later type not early, although the bell housing looks like a t series.(t18 series 2) I would think buying a new clutch fork and hub would be long shot . I would ring up your nearest gearbox rebuilding out fit as most of them have a few old junkers under a bench some where. rob
  21. I m sure that it will be a work of art .I remember reading that your 6th cage was your last Craig ha ha . So a display car only ,but with all the proper bits?? These builds of yours are a great read ,you do what most of us wish we could!! Rob
  22. No worries Stuart ,my plan is to have a crack at wiring it up and see what happens . Ive got nothing to lose ha ha I think that i wouldnt be a good bomb defusing expert :drinks: As a mate of mine said how hard can it be,its only wires one ways right one way is or f##k,then the magic smoke escapes.
  23. 5K Distributor Igniter (picture below) 4AC Ignition Module, pink and green wire goes to distributor, two black wires go to VR sensor, although one of the black wires has a smaller terminal than the other (would the smaller terminal be negative?) (picture below) The 5K Distributor, the two wires from the VR sensor to the ignitor? (picture below) 4AC Module, 4 Terminals with numbers 3, 7, 15, 16. Terminal 3 is the black wire with the small terminal, 7 is the larger black wire these go to the VR sensor, whilst 15 and 16 (pink, green) go to the coil. Bosch 3820. (picture below) So I'm not sure which way the wires from the 5K sensor hook up to the 4AC ignitor, I'm guessing the smaller black terminal is negative.
  24. So i went thru my modest parts and found 3, 4ac dissys 1 points 2 electric . They look very basic in side ,magnetic pickup 2 wires to the module then 2 wires from module out. So looking at the 5k dissy there seems 2 parts two it . The magnetic pick up then 2 wires to the ignitor then 2 wires out of the housing to coil.(simple really) How am i going so far Dave? My thinking which is take the two wires off the original ignitor (even remove it altogether) Keep the magnetic pick up ,and hook up the two wires from that two the ae module.??? Shoot away
  25. Dave I'm not sure if it was EFI or Carby. So it has two plugs coming from the ignitor. The 1st one is two pin red wire and white. The second one is huge 5 pin with 4 going directly to the igniter and the other to the positive on the coil then back to the igniter. rob Keith its the 240 dollar one !!!!!bloody hell ha ha
