  1. Hi everyone, the corolla you can see in my pictures, the bluey greeny ke55 is starting to blow alot of smoke and the engine is being a right pain in the arse ever for a 4k with 180,000km on the clock. decided to do an engine conversion on it, but I would like people with more experiences advice. What engine should I put in that would give me the best results and be the easiest to put in my lil rwd beast. Thank you all in advance David
  2. hey peeps, i have recently put a efi 4age bigport into my t18. i have driven it on the road and it seems to run smooth but..... i can't run with the TPS. if the TPS is plugged in it will only rev to about 3k and then it auto cuts the revs to just above idle then returns to around 3k and back again. you can hold your foot flat to the floor and it only revs so high then the revs drop right off. revs up for about a second and backs off for about a second. also i have not noticed any change with or without the exhuast sensor. the wiring harness and motor were out of a doner car and I'm not sure how it ran before i got it and put it in my t18. the wiring harness was been butcher before i got it to only run the minimum and is also running different injectors from factory. as i said above it runs smooth, but idles around 1700 and its gutless till about 6k then you feel it pic up. i don't know if thats how the 4age runs normally but my 3tc has more power(58hp) than my 4age till the 6k mark. any ideas?
  3. I am deadset farken hopeless. I lasted maybe a month before I bought another car to go club racing lol.. Saw this on ebay a few months ago and was keen but the timing was poor, however its popped up again this week so I snapped it up. It does officially break the "only three toy cars" rule at home, but I think its cheapness has let me sneak it in. The basics are its a 1986? (I will have to check that) Ae82 Corolla Twin Cam hatch. Someone clearly loved it and spent a lot of money on it at some point in its life. Has 20 valve conversion, reportedly done by Toyrolla Spares. Its very neat from the brief look I have had over it. Painted Ford Blueprint blue, and its still very neat. Interior needs a good steam clean and a general tidy up, but has real carbon fibre covers put on the top of the dash and a few other bits. Odd! Because race car? Has uprated suspsension of some kind, and nolathane bushes through out. I will explore more of what it has at some point soon. I am told I am not allowed to play with it until I get the Crown sorted, so it will get parked in the corner for the moment, though I know myself well enough to know that the parts hunting game is about to commence...shhhhhh ;) First major works will be to work out why the engine sounds like a man with a hammer at certain revs. Given the dude selling it had his mechanic dodgy up one main bearing, I am tipping its another one wanting to be done. So I will probably whip the engine out for a refresh and do it properly. It will also get my seat and harness, some wheels with semi's for racing purposes, and at some point some MRP coil overs. Couple of photos from the ebay ad. I will put some better ones up when I clean it up and the weather is better. You can see in the pics the front bar is a bit wombled. I might replace that and do the headlights and taillights too, so they are as fresh as most of the rest of the car. Maybe :) Stay tuned. Oh and it needs a name.. the colour is making me think Smurf... but I am open to suggestion.
  4. Can someone please confirm that KE70 MANUAL (K50) speedo cables fit T50 gearboxes? I've been told they do and also told they don't. Two things I know for sure are AE86 speedo cables DO NOT fit KE70 dash clusters and AUTO KE70 speedo cables DO NOT fit T50s. If anyone has first hand put a K50 (manual KE70 gearbox) speedo cable into a T50 (manual AE86/AE71gearbox) please comment. Thanks.
  5. I have owned this car twice, this is the second time I have attempted to build it for a 4age.. First owned the car somewhere around 10 years ago.. Paid $700 for what was a decent car, as time went on I purchased an import corona turbo and got sick of the corolla. After sitting in the weather for a few years I decided to fit a 4age in it... After fitting the motor, getting extractors and a bunch of work done I got desperate and needed a wagon.. So I sold it for $1000 with brand new custom 4age extractors, modified radiator, recond (unused head), recond twin solex and a brand new redline manifold and a t50.. Sadly I lost an ASS load of cash car was stripped for the driveline and sold on.., many years passed and I somehow ended up with it again.. Looking very sad, every part that could be taken off has been apart from the doors. I got the car back as a shell with box's of parts. funny how life works, it is even still under my name I'm in no hurry to build the car, I have changed my mind a heap of times with what I want to do with it. But now I have decided again to go 4AGE, seeing I have a crappy ke10 with a running 4age.. so it will just be a bit of a swap and tidy up. picture from back in the day... green when I purchased it... Matte black when I got bored on the weekend :) how I got her back. Now new motor/shell it come from eventually when I do some more work i will update this, but I'm not aiming on it being perfect.. or a show car.. Just a neat/fun car... no need to be the fastest on the street.. if i can get around 100hp reliable i will be happy..
  6. just wondering what size injectors would be good for a ze with a boosted sc14? I don't have any at all at the moment, also wondering if anyone knows the spray pattern the stock ones have and what would be good to get as a "cheap" upgrade. I have heard s4 rx7 550cc fit, but not sure about spray pattern and impedance? i will be running afternarket ecu an ems

  8. Hey all!!! This is my first post on this forum as I am looking for some help! I have a 1982 ke70 sedan running a 4agze. I am wanting to upgrade my diff. A friend told me that an ae86 lsd diff head will swap straight into my existing ke70 housing? Is this true?? Seems far too silmple to be true! Any help will be apreciated!!!!
  9. Hey guys, I'm running a 4age 16v small port, with 20v Quad throttle Bodies, an adaptronic ecu and brand new valve springs.. I'm just wandering what cam shafts you have put in your 4age, and where a good place to get them online is, without the killer $800 per shaft price.. I'm keen to run an exhaust and Intake shaft, and decided to ask some questions before hand.. I was thinking about running the Tomei Pro 304 Duration with the 11.0mm lift.. Any input is appreciated thanks guys..
  10. I'm new to this forum, well any forum, but I am in dire need of help! I have just converted my "84 KE70 too an AE82 Bluetop (Bigport) 4AGE engine, and I am having some problems. The car runs fine and is perfectly driveable up until about 6000RPM. It confuses me because it runs so well up until this point, but as soon as it hits between 5500 RPM - 6000 RPM, the engine, runs out of spark? I suppose, and spits and backfires and carries on and will not rev any higher. Also with a timing light, the timing is sitting at about 15 degrees advanced now (with the distributor retarded as much as I can) and does not retard anymore, only advances to about 45 degrees advanced) and the distributor is not out one tooth because if I move it back one tooth it wont start at all! Also the timing is retarding when revved, not advancing! So I can't figure out what is going on here! I have tried too put the ECU into diagnostic mode but nothing happens, and I checked 'T' I think it is, in the diagnostic plug, (which from a wiring diagram runs to pin B6 on the ECU) and it has permanent continuity to Earth, which I can't understand because to get the car into diagnostic mode you need to ground 'T'?!?! I know I have all the correct wiring as I bought the AE82 with the engine in it and removed it all myself, and I havent touched any of the two engine looms, the only wiring I messed with is the 'interior' loom because I wanted to get rid of all the shit on the inside of the car as I am using this for Autocross/Rally. And it ran fine in the old car but now its just... The engine is also running really rich and constantly spits and backfires at idle, I quickly wired up the check engine light to see if that was the cause of the 'T' terminals earthing but to no success, I need help!
  11. hi people, does anyone have the torque settings for the big end bearing and main bearing? or a full spread sheet they can email? the motor is a 16v small port 4age red top. I know these answer and probably on here somewhere but i have had a look and can't find them. thanks.
  12. Hi, I'm currently under going the 4age conversion in my t18 and I'm going to replace the clutch before it goes in the car. It is a daily driver but it gets a good thrashing every so often. I have never ruined a clutch in any of my cars before. so is it worth putting a standard clutch back in or should i upgrade, if so what brand/type? Thanks!

  14. hey everyone, i am doing a 4age conversion and ive run into a problem, i went to bolt the gearbox up to the motor today, and half of the bolts don't seem to line up? its a adm t50 and a bigport 4age, with the dowels that are spose to go in the top of the bell housing, the dowel is on the passenger side top sticking out of the engine, whereas the whole for it in the bellhousing is in the drivers side top, and a couple of the bolts just don't seem to go anywhere? I'm confused, please help
  15. Hi, I'm wondering (I may sound stupid) if there is such a 4agze that has the big port head but no T-VIS? The 4agze I'm looking at is in need of a full rebuild and its a big port head with CAS/DLI, what ever you want to call it, but has no T-VIS plate and the studs that the manifold go onto are not long enough to accommodate a T-VIS plate. So would this also help identifying what model car this came out of? I'm hoping its a late AE92 GT-Z levin... I know the AE101 had the small port head, but this is definitely a big port with no T-VIS. Thanks for the input!
  16. Here's a small introduction to what's resulted in countless hours, days, weeks, months, years of hard work, tears & dollars spent. The year is 2004, I acquired a Toyota Corolla from one of my friends, Nick. The vehicle had been stripped out with the engine bay painted, sitting beside a colossal pile of parts. Due to lack of time and a few others things, I acquired the old girl on her journey towards a better life. Its an Australian Delivered, 1982 KE70 Sedan owned previously by a Family from the south side of Brizzy. Maybe the 2nd owner? 3rd? who knows. The vehicle drove into the shed as presented below, eventually to end up getting a complete nut-and-bolt restoration. Well, we did use some of the old hardware.. but you get the point. More Pictures of Day 1 -> Click HERE <- 17th September 2005 was the official start date of ownership & spanner throwing on the old girl. It's become an unofficial 2nd birthday ! Looking back at the project now and the 50+ pages of updates over the next 13 + years, Its turned into a digital diary of the ups, the downs, the successes and the failures. To all of the people that have looked at this over the years, I thank you for your continued support and hopefully i'll try to update this on a semi regular basis. It still gets driven, every day, as a daily driver - as originally intended all those years ago : ) T
