hay guys I'm building up a ke70 (daily drifter) and am wondering what kind of suspension setup and brake convo i will need to keep it road legal I'm planing around 150kw at the wheels. from research i have found that RA60 struts bolt in and the brakes are much larger and vented. but with the ke70 lower control arm you end up with a positive camber. now apparently by using a Sigma lower control arm it changes produces a -4 degree camber (is this legal) which should be pretty good. just wanted to know if anyone has performed this conversion before and can confirm it fits well? i don't mind a bit of chopping here and there as I'm a sheety?? any help? cheers

Hey guys and girls i've owned my ke70 for 4 months now and have put some money aside. I want to get a 5k and 5speed cause my car is auto right now :y: how much do you think it would cost to get it converted and is it worth it because i'm a bit stuck right now with my crappy auto and my leak happy engine. Any help would be great and i'd like to get a basic respray while i'm at it so how much roughly do you think it would be worth? Any help would be great thanks. :lolcry:

hey all, just joined the forum, thanks to macca for pointing them out to me, ive been reading around a bit and I'm glad to say that this forum is possibly the first ive seen that doesnt have any wankers on here. I look forward to hearing from you guys. Anyway, heres my seca, its a fair bit stocko, besides a 2 1/4 inch exhaust with a resonator and 1 muffler. so yeah it drones a lot :P . It has 16" toyota sportivo rims on it, fully sick ' high performance ' pod filter on it :) but soon it will be replaced with a stock airbox, i bought the car with the cams its got in it and i have no idea what duration they are, but they have no low down power and heaps of high, i don'…

Hey there guys, i only just joined this forum but have been looking around for a while. Anyway, my name is Justin, i live in Tassie and i own a Sprinter. I bought her last year sometime ( i think? ) and paid $1900. Pretty good price considering various taxes these days... Anyway, at first i was fairly happy with her, but i slowly got pissed off with the suspension so i chucked in some AJPS 5 kilo front and 4 kilo rear springs, along with some KYB excel-g shocks. This has made her handle a shedload better, but I'm starting to find it to soft. Gonna be grabbing some 8 and 6 rates soon, but that is still a little way off. I also found the stock brakes frustrating, s…

Hey guys, I'm new to these boards and i thought i'd say hello to you all. Many of you guys hav been an inspiration and are the reason i have this rolla for my first car :lolcry: . Hope to get to know some of you. anyhow take a look at my profile and tell me what you think (click on "bundy_rolla' at bottom of post). The car has been resprayed recently ;) For some reason the site won't let me update my profile so i can't tell you other interesting things about my rolla. Its nothing real special atm, all stock except for a 5speed that i took out of a KE70. the Colour i painted it is 'Mercury Silver' (BA falcon) has lots of matalic in it, looks real nice in full sun :)

G'day fellas. As alot of you might already know, i've slowly been building up a KE55 Coupe for Junior Sedans for the last 6 months or so. When I started, I didn't realise that there would be so much effort into building the car; I started off with the typical young bloke mentality of it being a simple, quick, overnight task... Which of course, it definately was not! I'm glad that I chose to build it. I was offered the chance to buy a few seperate cars; in fact, i had the offer for a car to be bought for me. But I knocked these offers back, because I really wanted to gain the experience of building the car for myself. Thanks to a friend of my dad's, I scored a '7…

This is for my brother as he is slack. I'm currently rebuilding the engine. This is my old ke70 and the wheels on the car in the pic are not on it anymore as i kept them when i sold it to him, but i don't have any updated pics of the car for now. This is the engine and supercharger set up i built for my brothers mate (KE30) and then he sold it to my brother and it is now fitted to the KE70 This is what i have been doing today. Now this was a rebuilt motor from a company "5 Star" and was the engine out of the KE70 originaly but had a blown head gasket, We stripped the engine to find its not that old, its bored 40 thou and i don't know if thats what a 4K came with …

This is my KE 11 4 Door which i've had stored for over 2 years. Just a new battery and of she went. Carby needs a overhaul and the front seal in the box is leaking, other than that everything else seems fine. This car is a 1970 model, 1200 3K, 2 speed Toyoglide, factory tinted glass, front discs, stainless roof gutter trim, fully reclinable front seats ( same as KE 15/17's ) and a small rubber trim that goes around the headlight surounds which i've never seen on any other KE1# series Corolla. Also the car has never had a heater fitted which tells me it was most likely imported not sold new in Australia. I have been able to trace back NSW registration to the early 80's…

The short version…… Well it all started when the tailgater that had been following us just about all over town pushed Rolln03 just that little bit too hard… One screaming 4k and a lesson to the tailgater taught (smokescreen…well almost) we were left with fried piston rings and a blown head gasket. One week later and after many calls made by Rolln03 a 5k was found at the Maryborough wreckers… the engine cost was $250 and it came with a 5spd gearbox…too good to pass up. As soon as Rolln03 told me about it I started scheming :hmm: with his mates and about three days later a phone call and the co-operation :( of the of the wreckers team – I was now the …

Well, I picked this up a few weeks back for $1900 and only just took pictures of it. It's my first car so I'm hoping to first, learn to drive and get my license of course, then get some experience with driving and working on cars, then get it driftable. As of now it's got an exhaust system with a horrible oval tip I'll be getting rid of, it's got extractors and some king springs. I pick up a webber for it in a week or so too. It's got some 'Champion' mags or something on it, they'll be going when I find something better but it's not urgent right now. Never realised it had such a small engine and right now it doesn't idle. I think it's the fuel solenoid now but I…

Everybody has their own method to the madness when it comes to having fun. Some people like to spend time with friends, while others enjoy hanging out at the beach. Then, of course, there are the couch potatoes that like to sit in front of the tube. My idea of fun involves anything to do with cars. A perfect weekend would be doing up my drift car with available resources I can get or what I can think of. And spending my ‘Ang Pao' money to buy hammer drill, 4 inch mini cutter, 14 inch cutter, a welding machine etc… Unfortunately, this sort of fun costs money and when you are still a University student (BTW I just graduated and sent my Uni. to hell! ), the "fun" can…

OK so on the whole we are anti-rice, but I have a penchant for all things blue. This is acutely obvious if you look at my custom guage thread but I have taken it a step or two further. Take one shitty oil stained rocker cover : Soak in degreaser (50/50 mix of Supercheap degreaser/Kerosine) Rub with Wet'n'Dry to remove scuffs and hammer marks (it was hard to crack the seal) Spend $35 at Supercheap on pretty tins of shiny stuff Spray the blue on the cover Look in disgust cause it doesnt look right Read the cans Use the basecoat like you should have in the first place Respray the blue Seek assistance of Bajic brother to refit the cover (I told…

Gday all, hear is my lil '78 Ive been working on for the last couple of months, with a lot more months to follow. It started out as the corolla that "Little" Grandma took to lawnbowls then it was bought by my Dad around 14 years ago and was transformed into a Datsun-1600-flogging-Rally-machine. Running a 2TG, Dad and i rallyed it for a few years when we then retired it to the shed were it sat for about 5 years collecting dust (and rust). In the meantime we moved to Qld and brought the beast to the sun. Dad had really lost interest by then and it was left to sunbake up north with the surf and salt. About 6 months ago i said "Dad, this is shit, I'm taking it!" and have sl…

This used to be my wife's everyday car up until about 7 years ago, she got a company car. Was left under a carport at my parents place. It just needed a battery, fuel and a new fuel pump and off she went. The brakes are partially seized and there's a bit more rust now. Its only done about 92,000 miles, except for the drivers seat most of the interior is good. Planning on tidying her up a bit, overhaul the brakes and sticking it on Historic Registration. She used to fly with the twin SU's, heaps better than the original factory twin carbs.

hey, I'm Matt. just thought i'd post up my rolla. Its a 94 Csi with cold air intake (Prob more of a hot air intake ATM) , Cannon muffler, 5" Tacho, Pioneer HU, Alpine 700w monoblock amp, Clarion 12" 1000w sub 2 ohm in custom Ae-92 hatch box. Thats about it. The sound sys put out 132.7DB at the last USA day in launceston, and came 4th in its class. I broke a voice coil in my pioneer 12" 1000w 2ohm later that week, so now i have the clarion that i havn't had DB tested yet. I have just moved to Launceston TAS, The local tas boys might have seen da rolla out and about. Now for some pics of it. And just…
