Hi people, i am new to this forum, and would like some help with my car. I am a maltese national living in england and would like to bring over my car from malta. The car is a 1971 corolla sl, ke25 model. I satrted drag racing when 1 was 17yrs old, and after nearly 7 years, i want to build my own car. The sl is quite a good car, being light and rwd. The questions are, what is the best engine/transmission to use without too much hassle, preferably turbo. And secondly waht rear axle should i use, cos I'm already on my second diff, with a 5k engine in it!! Cheers for yr help, Vince

well ive got myself a project...was only going to be a repair and paint project but I'm thinking things are going to get out of hand as they do haha, has 5k with twin carbies, 5speed kp61 starlet gearbox, cut springs in the front and taken the second biggest leaf spring out of the rear but will soon put it bak in and put 2inch blocks in as the leaves are 2 soft now haha, painted it matt black and then the next day had a uhm..lets say..nudge? the next day.. so hunting more parts, hav found pretty much all of them in 2days haha, all i need now is chrome bumper, radiator and valance panel and I'm away.. will be painted capsicum green with gold pearl thru it, going to work th…

Please can anyone tell me how to remove the roof lining from my KE35 Coupe? I have removed all the side covers, visors, light and seat belts.........but I think there may be clips and I cannot locate them.

Hi guys, I'm only new to rollaclub forums but i hope i can be a valued member to you guys, My project is a KE55 corolla coupe that i am building as a race car, throughout the conversion process i will try to keep you guys as informed and uptodate as possible, my conversion is a slight twist to the norm though, being built as a race car i will be deviating from the conventional a little, so just try to follw my thinking patterns. Attached are some pics (low quality phone pics) of the new engine mounts i have just made for it and a pic of the car in action (at winton with my old 13T pushrod engine). this is my #2 dream car; kristy calls it a land yacht since i was like 8 , i've always wanted a '68-'69 plymouth sport satellite sportwagon i never could find one, but found a super clean '69 dodge coronet..... so i put a '69 road runner front clip on it it's only a slant six 225, but i've already replaced the noisy 3 speed with an o.d. 4 speed and i have an efi 318 sitting at grampa's i sold my '65 dodge dart on ebay and drove this back about 2 weeks ago check out the dish....

ok guys i no i sed i was geting the xr6 turbo ute but thats on hild cos i dun need 1 now but the corolla is a go a head now i have sum nice plans for it and it will be striped buy xmas . and then resprayed ( not telling what colour just wait and see) and will be droping the 5k i have in it and turboing it and sum suspention upgrades and my seats and sum sterio goodies so i will keep this updated daily as progers is a go ahead. anny 1 know if sum 1 is selling a t28 turbo ?? ok guys will have pics updated asap :jamie:

i'm starting something new,i'm going to create a Sti, now likely in power wise,but in styling. i will hit the junk yards up for a wreaked sti hood and wing. i alrdy have a suppiler for the wheels but to me they don't look to much like Sti wheels, so if anybody can help me with that, i whould apperiate it. not sure if i will custom fit sti lights on the car.... i'll keep posting updates and soon get a digital cam.... oh yeah the car that i will be working on for this project... a 1983 toyota corolla. 4AGE engine swap coming soon... :D

thought i'd make a topic for this thing here after crashing oke250, i have no corolla. i bought a hilux to minitruck, but i don't want it so it's for sale. i picked up this 1975 ke36 panelvan off ken & nikki for 700 bucks. ken's been poking around getting it half roadworthy for me for the last couple of weeks, and rob was coming my way with his car trailer last night, so he bought it down for me. again, many many thanks to mr dixon so today, i used the last bits of daylight to clean it up a bit, just vacuumed all the rocks and dirt and hay and horse feed and broken glass (?). it's not too bad under all that, at least it's not too painful to look at now. i can'…

ok i thought i better introduce my self and post up what i have dun 2 my car so far i first found the ke30 in the trading post for $600 we went and checked it out and it looked good bar the most corolla rust spots. we took it hoom and the next day went straight 2 work on it satrted with the diff buying a new 1 cos the old 1 was stufed and was making sum funky noises and then brake pads and a full service and then went on 2 the interiour were the carpet was riped and batterd and the seats were torn so we went out and got new carpet and new seats and sum vinal so we could also do the door trims and then went on 2 the exteriou we sanded it back kut and replaced the rust…

Hey guys, I think I posted on this site before, but for some reason I can't seem to dig the old post up to put some more recent photos, nothing much has changed. Anyways here are some recent pictures. Some things I would like to do: The bump strip needs some attention, I either want to take it off all together or move it down along the door line. Because at the moment it is looking really tacky. The motor needs new valve stem seals I think, blows some blue smoke on startup and around town sometimes. The front metal bumper bar has a little dint if a keen eye can spot it out. Apart from that I'm keeping it original. Hope you like the pics. …

Hey, I've started accumulating the bits and pieces for my turbo 5K. The plan is to use my 5K block, bore it out 0.5 - 1.5mm. Use some 78 internal, 81 - 82 exteranl, cast steel sleeves in the bores. I scored 4 rb20det pistons with 80k on em for 20 bucks! So that should work nice with some brass inserts to connects the rods. The pistons are 3.2 mm shorter than a 5K unit so I'm gonna deck the block 1mm and shave the head 1mm too, and use a 1mm copper head gasket with a double O-ring. I'll reconfigure the head a bit too. It should be about 1.4 L and 7.5 - 7.8 : 1 compression ratio after that. I plan not to rev it too hard so I'm gonna stick with standard 5K rods…

Hey guys Picked up the AE71 that was on here for sale less engine, got it back to the workshop today, tomorrow we will fit the SR20 into it and wire it up, the gear box wont be here till friday, so that might be the only hold up, will order the Konig Rewinds for it tomorrow, and get the swuspension done later in the week, pics as it happens Cheers Jon

I bought the ke30 2dr in September 2004 transported it on a trailer to my garage and left it. It sat untouched until in May this year I finally got my lazy ass out to the garage and started having a look at what I could do. It needed a whole new interior but I figured an engine refresh was the first thing to do so that at least I could drive it around while I slowly fixed the interior. So I stripped it down to the block, had the cam reground, obtained a 3k head as it had a 4k head on it :D as has been documented elsewhere on this site. Meticulously cleaned the head and reseated the valves, obtained a inlet manifold due to the existing one being cracked, cleaned …

Hey There People I'm new here. Just thought i'd tell you of my project i'm undertaking. I have sucessfully fitted a 4-AC backed with a T-50 gearbox, custom tailshaft, shortened shifter into my KE55 corolla that has a partially completed KE30 exterior. I like to call it my AE35 cos the running gear is out of an AE86 Aus-spec. I still have to mod the clutch pedal to suit the hydraulic system and source a few connectors off an AE82 for the temp sensor, oil light and i also have to relocate the coil as it sits on the wrong side of the engine bay. Only problem i do have at the moment is i can only get the car to start by jumping a wire on the starter motor …
