Theres a bit of talk around, taht various state govts are looking at standardising how modified cars attain approval, Theres a good write up in the current Street machine, thats basically boils down that any mod would need approval, and that each mod would be approved seperatley And that some mods must be shown to comply via Madatory testing! Here's the SM write up This from the Aust Confed. of Motor clubs... I doubt it will happen...but you never know..

I am new to the corolla scene as i am a rotary head, i have once owned a RWD starlet and a RA23 celica but this is my 1st rolla! i have been living in perth for some time now from NZ and i came across a Ke16. I had never seen one of these in person until i came across this one! i couldnt resist the buy. i am now wondering if i should sell as is or keep on the build. it is tidy and road worthy! but whats it worth? all its missing is a passenger sun visor. the dash top.the standard steering wheel, the cigarette lighter and another dash piece i am unsure of. and i can't figure out how the tail gate used to stay open?? il get some pics up asap!! So the q…

We're copping a bit of a flood from spambots at the moment. I'm working on blocking them automatically but if you see one posting (or signing up) please don't respond, just hit report and the mods will clean it up. Different people re-reporting spammers multiple times is OK!

Hey guys. I have done some searching around on Google and on here and haven't come up with much. Now before you say "Get a screwdriver, or dental floss and some special spray" I'm actually trying to find a safe way to remove the badge without damaging it or the paint. As I want to restore the old badges back to new and fit them back onto the boot. I have had a bit of a look at it this afternoon and they are glued on but also I can feel on the inside of the boot lid where they join through the boot. Before having a go at it myself I'd like to get a few opinions and idea's on what might be the best way to go about this. As said, I don't want to damage…

So,I'm probably one of,if not the oldest member of Rollaclub at mid 50's! Ive had ke70's before but have been doing other things (meaning other cars) but have just returned with the purchase of a ke70 project to keep me going while my other project is slack. Exterior is black, looks like house paint, original color is beige,4 speed, complete but a bit grotty and missing a few little but important pieces that shouldn't be too hard to find,I hope.. Plans revolve around rebuild and restore,a cool looking cruiser rather than a hotty, drifter, race machine, etc,a few upgrades to the standard running gear and body work to start with, maybe a 2T later, yea,I know, old and heavy but …

Hey guys, just a simple question here. I've already looked on the FAQ page about the exhaust system and the carby information, but I can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for. I'm not sure what terms I should be searching. When it comes to running both extractors with a weber carby, the inlet manifold (I think it's called, I'm not from a time of carbies) is obviously not going to bolt onto them like it does the stock headers. So what should I do where it should bolt on? Is there some sort of blanking plate or something. Sorry to sound like an absolute noob, but if someone can point me in the right direction, I would be really happy :) Thanks guys.…

Hello ladies and jellyfish, I have been trying to find info on what gearbox's you can use for a Rwd 4AGTE setup, that can handle a large amount of power. Common knowlege suggest's I use a supra gearbox with the suiting bellhousing, but this will not suffice for my needs. As fun as manual gearbox's are, I am on the quest to see if there would be a strong auto option. I heard somewhere that the original auto is alright, but it would most definantly need re-building, and beefing up. Plus, would the original auto sill need a custom bellhousing to suit the Rwd application? Are there places that make custom bellhousings?

Just a quick reminder people: Wanted (WTB) threads have been popping up in all sorts of places lately, in For Sale, in Automotive, rides etc. It's less mouse clicks for me to delete a thread than it is for me to move it. This is where all the "wanted to buy" threads should be posted. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/forum/86-wanted-to-buy/ If I see them elswhere I will just delete them, no notice. Please post them in the correct spot.

I am a perpetual widow shopper.... When it comes to cars (or traveling Amsterdam hahah). As in I love to look around to see what cool old cars are selling, how much for etc. but I never buy, just like looking. Anyway I reckon it's gone to the dogs lately. eBay is rubbish these days, although still ok for cars it's terrible for parts. Gumtree... Yeh maybe if I am a north burbs brogan who can't spell. Sweet. It was a modern looking site in 1997.... Usually I find myself jumping from forum to forum, ozdat, aus rotary, rollaclub, toymods. Carsales is great for current model commodore buyers. Do you guys reckon it's harder lately? Does everyone else trawl numer…

I am looking to buy a nice corolla from the ae-90 - 94 era, with no other preferences except that it has to be manual, and has to have low(ish) kms. I went to look at an ae-90 with 120,000 kms. Overall the car was okay; the interior was great, but the paint looked like the lady had tried to polish it and had made swirls on it. I'm not too fussed because i'm planning on tidying it up over the summer and eventually doing a few mods, maybe i could get it resprayed. It will have a roadworthy and 10 months rego if i choose to buy it, for $3000. So my question is... Is it worth it? Should i wait and see if a better car comes up for sale? should i get an RACV check just to …

hey everyone, i have a t series axle in my corolla (open diff). been working sweet for the last year. i turned hard into a left hand corner the other day (didn't hit anything!) and i heard a clunk in the back.. i look at the back and my right hand (driver side) wheel is sticking out about 30mm more than usual! (lol) car drives fine still, it just makes a little more noise from the diff. As I'm driving it goes in and pops out again. i know its dangerous. I've stopped driving it now. what do you think has caused this?? i took the drum off and took some pics. here they are: first two pics you can see the axle is sticking out more. when you spin the …

Hello, I am the owner of a 1981 Corolla KE55 and I'm going to have to sell pretty soon. My 4 children are getting to big too squeeze in. Problem is I don't have any idea how much it's worth. There doesn't seem to many for sale, so hard to compare. It's in very good condition. No rust on body a little bit of spotting on the chrome. 122,000ks, Auto. Immaculate interior, all original, except for the Pioneer cd/radio/speakers. Recently I've had the rear shockies replaced and points. I have all the receipts and full log book dating back to 1981. I also have the original new car manual. So.. what do you think?

So ive put a t series diff into my 55 coupe rear discs etc ,The problem i now have is trying to get a drive shaft. I thought i could use the t flange on the 55 shaft then get it shortened, but the uni joints are different. Maybe get a hole new tube built ,but the shaft tubes are 10 or 15mm different in size. Maybe mix and match uni joint caps?? I have plenty of ke55 shafts, and one rt132 two piece shaft (tseries flange) Help :hmm: rob
