Hey i've picked up a new ke70, want to get it registered again and it needs a motor and gearbox I have my old 4k and 4 speed out of my ke70 sitting around in running condition. My problem is, it is the motor that my old ke70 is ment to have in it (i have converted to 4a) so it is ment to be in use in a registered car. I'm wondering if they will pick that up if i put it in the new ke70 and take it through a roadworthy?? They would check the engine numbers i would think, but would they have to cancel one of the rego's because the motor is ment to be in both cars?? I'm in tasmania too but i would think this would be the same in all states. Cheers

Hope one of you can help me out here. I bought a PBR Performance brake upgrade kit for my VS Clubsport a while ago and, if I'm honest, it's SH*T!. Standard brakes on my car was what you would normally find on a V8 Commodore (SS and the like). The kit has twin piston front calipers with 330mm slotted vented fronts, and 280mm slotted vented rear (for ABS). Similar to what you'd find on a VT V8 onwards. The brake pedal doesn't feel resposive. There's no initial "bite" to the brakes. The only way I can decribe it, is it feels like the brakes are hot and they've faded. (I'm sure some of you here would know the feeling of faded brakes!?). It can be a bit wild in t…

Hey, as you may know I am currently building a 1989 corolla sx. It has a 4agze supercharged mr2 conversion, which is getting on... try almost 200,000. I have a bigger crank pulley, to spin the charger quicker, i have had the flywheel lightened, i have genie extractors with a whopping 3 inch system. A top mount intercooler, soon to be front mount... But i still want/ need more. Now is there anything else, i can do to the motor in its stock computer to give it a bit more go. without rebulding the engine. If you have any ideas please let me know below. Thankyou James

Hey guys! ok i know the 7AGE build is not a simple bolt on thing to do. so Parts i can easily acquire; - 7A Bottom end - 20V Head - TD04 Turbo (Stock WRX Turbo)- (of course will have to weld a custom manifold) the type of turbo I'm using gives a clear indication I'm not going for anything over the top. and i understand with many 7AGE builds the Engine does not like high revs. how do i go about building one for turbo (for example, do i need new crank? rods? pistons? what about the 20V head? what needs to be done? any advice on this will be very much aprpeciated! there are many threads online, but most are very unclear and inconsi…

Last night, Friday night/Saturday morning about 2am someone went into the carpark located at the back of my appartment and stole my replacement driverside gaurd. About 6 months ago i was hit by a guy in a 4wd, his fault, and the insurance payed me out as they wanted to write my car off. I managed to find a bulk purchase and secured a guard to repair the damage, i also picked up a door and guard from a guy on here but had to get rid of the guard as it was too stuffed. Anyway i had the door and guard sitting behind my car in the communal carpark , not visible from the road and last night the guard went missing. Nothing else gone. Location: I live in Melbourne, …

Well, today my mate who's house I work on is trading in his old Feral Landcruiser for a flash new Isuzu 4WD. He's keen to take his camper trailer up to Lake Eyre in September and take a look (He's a geologist/botanist/environmentalist, so he'll enjoy it) He & his wife would like my wife & I to go too, but I don't have a use for a 4WD at all, certainly not a ute. Its just another $1000/year rego/insurance sitting in the drive depreciating unless its being driven. So, I dredged up the story from Topgear below, watched episode one, and decided I won't learn a lot as the whole thing is so faked. Has anyone been up there and is a 2WD or a Tercel likely to …

so, I'm hoping to have certain member's '35 soon, with the plans of either it or my pano to go in the shed, for my ground up rebuild, doing properly, like a lot of the secksee beasts, on our site here. which one you think? the '35 would be clean, like chesti's, with a rotor, methinks. pano would be clean, like crowie's, sorta, with a SC5K or even a rotor.. NFI.. the pano runs out of rego soon, so i eitehr renew it and use it like i have been, or de rego it and shed her, ground up rebuild.. suggestions on which or even engine choice, appreciated. want ease of install RE engine swap too :-)

hey guys just a question, a friend of mine gave me a tailshaft to fit to my t50, and counted my output spline teeth on the t50 and of course there was 22, the tailshaft has only 20. no news there. so i rang my mate and told him and he was like wtf?, it fits my t50 and sent me a pic of the same shaft in his t50, and he said it also fits my k50 and my k40 box...............? my question is, is it possible to make a hybrid box with a 20 tooth output out of the k series to the t series, to fit the 20 tooth input? if you know what i mean i don't understand how his tailshaft fits his t50 AND k50/40 aswell its a sigle piece shaft if that helps might be food for though…

So I noticed in the rides threads that 'alot' of members are quite chuffed that their new purchase of a used Corolla, comes with original log books, What is the big facination with this, seems everyone has them, I have mine also when it was first brought from Moorooka, QLD dealership back in 1977, but not much of it applies to my car, nor does it affect the value Shed some light please.....

i bet that topic got ya all excited. but alas i have been given a 69 KE10 rally spec. and by rally spec it has bonnet pins holding down the bonnet skelton as the skin has seperated from rust ( that was a suprise first time i opened it) it has flat rally tyres with chunky tread but cracked up sidewalls. it has a stripped interior except for seats and a steering wheel which apears to be rally spec of its day. it has a bolt in alloy (i think) roll cage.it is full of old stuff. parts, tools, old glass oil bottles with the big metal spout. some acient type writer ( i hope this is worth somthing) no keys so can't get into the boot yet. most of the hanging panels have rust but…

Hey Hey, On my way home today i was driving my 4wd in a lane that was ending and i had to merge right. I indicated my intentions to merge right and a E series falcon speed up and took the gap. I had to either cut her off or go up the gutter and into a power pole so i cut her off and merged right, I didn't have enough stopping room to brake and stop so i made my choice. Who is at fault ? Me for cutting her off or her for speeding up ? She swore, screamed and carried on. Also took a photo of my car as i was watching her in my rear view mirror. I kindly flipped her off whilst she had her phone out. Des ;)

Hi all, I’m in the market for an aftermarket ECU (I have an idea (brand) what I want) and I have had a look at a few of the major brands out there on the internet and most of them read well but I want to hear from you. What are the Good / Bad and Interesting things from your experiences. (Please do not rubbish brands and go into a little depth as to why it is good or bad and what you would use) Mods please move this under the correct heading if I have placed it in the incorrect place or delete it if there is another thread which I have not come across…… thanks

Hi Guys, I am new to this forum. Just signed. Pretty excited to post! I purchased a 1998 Toyota corolla (Seca) 6months ago. The vehicle has done approx 155,000kms. All has been going well, however for the past week or so I have been hearing this CHIRPING sound under the hood. And I have been trying to work out where it is coming from but I am not a hundred percent. It sounds like it is coming from the timing belt/serpenting belt area but what this means I have no idea. So I decided to take a video so that everyone on the forum can view it and possibly help me diagnose the problem. I am new with cars and I am keen to learn, so yet there is the option of ta…

Morning folks. a bit of a interesting topic here. girlfriend currently has a toyota lexcen (VR commondore wannabe) and although it will go forever (after i replace the alternator that died yesty...), its a bit of a heap of junk. so we think its time for an upgrade. so i thought i would open it to suggestions from rollaclub! requirements are as follows: -around $6000 -4 doors -4clr -fuel economical (80mins of driving each day to her work) -easy to fix, and available parts. -smallish, but enough space for 4 people on occasion. -all the mod cons (powersteering, aircon, airbags) -a little quicker than most in its class, i don't want a 1.5L econobox.…
