  2. Hi all. My awesome little rolla is having trouble again... :( Car: 1993 Toyota Corolla CSI Limited Hatch -- 4-AFE EFI engine. So today, we were driving along the Great Western when my car started making a "clicky" noise and smelling really weird, then started losing power. About 5km up, we made a turn off the highway and my car completely died, and there was smoke coming from the engine. Also when we opened the bonnet there was oil all over the engine, and there was no oil in my car anymore when yesterday it was full. There is no discernable leak whatsoever. We've put oil in it, and eventually it started and we got it home (took about 15 tries), and now it…

Hi guys. Been very long time since I've been on here. Serious rust in the rolla made me loose interest But I finally found it again. But to fix/hide the rust damage I'm fitting flares What I need is to increase the track width in the front to fill the flares I'm thinking I need around 40mm a side ( but won't know for sure until I get the flares) I currently have xt130 struts and steering arms And was thinking of running some sigma or Cressida lca's but will need to do something about the massive neg camber Does anyone have any ideas? Don't really won't to go any bigger in offset Thanks paul

Hi Everyone, I know it's not a Corolla but... I have a 1975 (Series 1) Toyota Corona RT104. It has a T292 diff as per Norbie's Diff/Axel database on Toymods and it also physically has 10 bolts on the housing. Refer to this link for all cars with the T-series diff: http://akb.norbie.net/Public/AxleList.aspx?SeriesCode=T My question is: Will the Zenki T-Series LSD Centre for the AE86 Sprinter (T282) fit in my Diff (T292). The RA23, RA28, RA40, TA22, TA23 and the MA45 all have the same T292 diff as my Corona. The only difference is that mine is leaf suspension. Has anyone put an LSD centre into one of the above vehicles (T292 Diff)? Also the TE71/TE72…

I have a bit of a dilema. I'm currently running a weber'd up 4AC KE70 on my P's. It's a good little car, around 90hp, plenty to play with. Despite of this, I will be upgrading to a 4AG when i'm off my P's and onto open in a bid for a bit more power. The question lies in whether I should go for Carbs or Injectors? The two options I am tossing up is a directly transplanting a small port into the car (the usual 4AGE conversion), or to go with the 16v head (and block) with twin 40mm solex's/weber's/dellorto's. I know the biggest concern with the carbs will be the fuel consumption, but that is something that does not conern me greatly. Plus, I have a bit of a soft spot for …

Okay, so I'm a little confused with the all the different front ends available for the e7 cars (especially taking into account all the different ones available worldwide). I have a hardtop ae72, and always thought the hardtops share the same front end as the coupes and liftbacks. While the 2-door sedans, 4-door sedans, and wagons shared the same front ends. But then I saw this picture of the a coupe with the quad headlights. Now I'm all confused. What front ends were available on what? Or more specific, what front ends came on the hardtops like mine?

I've finally got my 5K running, done the timing, tuned it and it seems to be running totally fine but at 2 points in the revs it totally stops getting power so I get jerked forward in my seat. If I back off a bit I can keep accelleration I can rev higher then it does it again and I have to back off more. It's got a weber, I don't know what the specs are but the previous owner had it on the motor and said he rejetted it and everything and it runs fine at anything but hard accelleration. Also the sump is only just touching the crossmember, which makes the whole car vibrate and rattle. Is this normal? Should I try putting the 4K sump on instead?

hi all, So I have had the most annoying noise coming from my car latly, originally thought it was the water pump bearing but I was wrong. I am getting some sort of negative pressure in my pcv system, i think it's negative is negative normal? Anyway I pull the dipstick while the car is running and whooosshhh, it sucks air from the dipstick and the sound goes away. So i gather the sound is from air being sucked in through seals. I have a smallport 4age with a cut n shut inlet and this could be where the problem lies, but I've been using the car for a year and a half till now and now the sound starts. Bigger issue now, So I figure if its sucking air from the…

  25. My heap of junk suzuki appears to be losing spark to ground inside the distributor cap intermittantly. I think it has been doing this for some time, you drive it, and every so often it misses a beat, or has a "hiccup". It deteriorated badly on the weekend, and the problem was traced to an open circuit high tension lead. The high tension leads are less than 2 years and 20,000km old! Anyway, the rest of the leads appear ok with a resistance of 1.5k ohms to 3.0k ohms, and I have now replaced the lead with a bright red new one.... when the lead died, the spark for that cylinder was jumping to ground on the distributor body. I have replaced the distributor cap (twice now) …

Hey guys, Alec here. I've pulled my 4k out and i'm rebuilding currently and i can't for the life of me remember which way this seal goes in. I can't remember what its called, my workshop manual is downstairs. But its the seal that goes into the circular mount (don't worry there are pics haha) that slips over the crankshaft on the back of the engine. ok. These are the parts, the circular mount and the seal. Now the seal has two sides, one with a recess and the other side is flat. This is the recessed side Now finally here's my question haha. It goes in this way right? with the recessed side down. I understand that it needs to be oiled …

The current engine has the standard dizzy, and although it is adequate, the new engine will have 35% more power - up from 55hp to 85hp, and as the engine will be revving between 7800 - 8300, I am after a dizzy that will be more suited for motor sport. I am pretty much new to the corolla scene - well, doing the work myself that is, and would like some info on better brand dizzy's for circuit racing. Now with E85 becoming more readily available on the pump has anyone noticed it at the bowser yet?
