The massive gap between third an fourth is a pain in my K50, and I wondered if anyone had swapped the earlier gear sets from the Ke30/55 into a K50. While a lot of people say the K40 and K50 have the same ratios, there are several different sets of ratios quoted, even in our Wiki. Going the T50 path would have the same effect, but cost a bundle and give a lot of hassle with K-T bellhousings and heavy gearboxes. So... anyone 'blended' a K40 and a K50 yet??

I'm looking for a St205 GT4 half cut i need to do some measurements and see if its cost effective for using engine, drivetrain in my ae95 found somebody who has already done this what do you guys think i am serious about doing this btw maybe not this year but probably the next

What do people think is a better/more powerful/more tunable setup for a worked 5K? The EFI setup for K series motors or twin carbs? If twin carbs, are Aisans up to the job or is it really worth the extra for webers? Currently have the EFI setup going but its having warmup / idle issues possibly due to the cam, and i can't help but wonder if it would all just be easier with carbs... Any help / experience / advice appreciated, Cheers ;)

I have a 3tg engine in my race car and i just run some hose from the front of the head where the thermostat housing is to the rear which is the heater return line port. As i don't run a heater anymore. I was wondering if i can just block of these ports and get ride of the hose? or does water need to run through the head for cooling or something???

Hey guys, Alec here again with my 4k rebuild that's taking a million years. I'm getting closer and closer. But i've run into a problem. Here's the low down. Basically i had the head "rebuilt" by a mate. He just cleaned it up, new valve stem seals, levelled the attaching surface. But when i got it back, he hadn't taken that plate off the back. So i have no idea what he actually did to it, but it cost me a carton of piss so i'm not complaining (god how bad does that hole look :( ) Now i went to take this backplate off the head to change the gasket and clean it up cos it looked manky. I'm going to be running a hilux diff in my celica and will most likely keep it 5 lug for avaliablily of wheels. and brake upgrades my q is anyone who has done a 5 lug swap on anything what have they done with the front as I'm stuck for ideas and it all needs to be able to passed with a engineer as it will be a street/daily any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey everyone, today I installed a central locking system in my KE70. It worked fine and everything, but later on I tried to start the car and it wouldn't go. The 4K starts but dies very quickly after the starter motor stops turning it over, it won't rev or anything. I suspect I've blown a fuse somewhere but I checked all the fuses I know of ( next to battery, next to steering wheel under dash) and they all appeared fine. The way I wired the central locking system up was just constant power from battery to sensor unit, then earthed into a bolt under the dash. I have an ae95 and i seem to have lost some crucial parts of the brake assembly like clips etc I'm guessing ae92 brakes fit an ae95 and are the same i can get some brakes from wreckers but ae95 ones are harder to find so i thought i may as well just get ae92 ones if they fit am i right or wrong any i info would be great Harry

So Ive had a idea that may make me stick with my ke20 with a 4k. It is currently a very healthy engine with even compression, 5k electronic distributor, 3kbp head etc. I'm thinking of making a custom inlet manifold for 4x individual throttle bodies,using one TPS sensor at the end of the throttle shaft, and 4x 300cc injectors. Instead of using a twin weber/dellorto manifold I'm thinking of fabricating my own inlet manifold flange and tig welding the runners, injector bungs and buying some throttle bodies. whats sort of ecu would be compatible with this setup? I have been looking hard at my steering box in the Corolla and was wondering if they share a common problem with most small Jap cars especially Datsun 1600's , which is chassis rail flex under the steering box when turning. This causes the whole steering box to actually move on the chassis rail and give a vagueness to the steering which also felt like bad steering box adjustment/freeplay. My old 1600 was renowned for it until I made up a basic brace that bolted to the top of the steering box and the inner guard. well guys I'm currently building a ca18det ke30 4 door sedan and I'm chasen a front brake upgrade without having a parts folder 10 pages long for jut my front end. bin lookin around and found afew nice front brake upgrades for ae86 sprinters just wondering if they will fit onto ke30 sedans ive bin told they will fit ke70s so why not ke30 sedans. il be doin coilovers sleaves so bigger rims isnt an issue. just need bigger brakes legaly so i want to take the easyest way possible.

When you pull a ke70 gearshifter apart, and you have the bottom bit that bolts to the box, is there ment to be a rubber gasket or something rubber, inside where the shifter seats on the holder, if that makes sence In detail..... Hi, For a while now I have been re-building a set of Phh 40 mkuni/solex carbs for my KE15. Time has come to start thinking about fuel pump. I want to get rid of the mechanical pump and go electric. Now here is the stumbling point. What to choose. I have been looking at Holley Red and that but really not sure what to go with. Solex need exactly 2.84 to 4.98 PSI fuel pressure. Looking for a place that sells lowering blocks specifically for Corolla rear leaf springs. Yes I have searched and can't seem to find anything but generic ones and I have no idea of what dimensions I need, I know I want to lower it 2-3" but thats all. Also I have heard of rear springs being reset etc ,once again best place for doing it or any suggestions at all cause I reckon the rears are a bit tired and its probably a better option than the lowering blocks. Hi guys, My 5k which is in a ke20 corolla was working, I parked it and then it wouldnt turn over anymore :(, I was able to push/clutch start it fine with ease. I have removed the starter motor and checked it and replaced it, but it wasnt this, I have confirmed that their is power to the starter motor and while it was out I checked to make sure that it was actually running. does anyone have any ideas? I'm in a bit of a pickle, All fuses seem to be fine as well, could it be my actual ignition switch?

Hey everyone, I've just recently got some ae86 coilovers and brakes, but I'm having trouble getting the brake line to seal into the caliper. All the lines bolt up fine and everything but when i try to bleed the brakes fluid begins to leak from the left hand caliper where the line screws in. I have noticed that the lines I have seem to be different for left and right, where the female end of the line and male end inside the hole in the caliper press together, there is a different taper on the faces of the ends for the left caliper and line and the right caliper and line. And I'm assuming this is normal. But at first I didn't realise this and put the wrong line in the wrong…
