Hi Guys, I am starting to pull down my ke20 for a tidyup and was wondering how to remove the gutters trim. Would like t know if there is a special way to do this to avoid damaging them. Also, what have people used to reseal the gutters. I'm looking at removing the old sealant and running a wire brush along to clean them up. I have noticed a slight rusty stain in a couple of spots so want to hit it before it takes hold ( will use rust convertor as well if needed ). Cheers Dale

First off, i'm James. Just purchased my first car. An 83 KE70 along with and engine to re-build and fit. A 4AGE silvertop 20v to be exact. Anyway, my question is, because my rolla is an auto (ex shopping trolly owned by a nice old lady) and with the intention of turning it in a little dori monster i'm going to have to convert it to a manual. Now i'm not worried about the actual fitting of the box as being in the trade i have the tools and hoists at my dispence, what i do need to know though is what gearbox i should be sourceing? From what i've read it should be a T-50? My other question is for the time being i want to put the box on the back of the stock engine, while in …

Hello to anyone who is willing to help. I have rebuilt a 4k motor to go into my Ke30. Everything went together as it was suppose to, nothing was out of place. Now the motor is back in and wont start. I have checked everything you can think of. It has plenty of spark plenty of fuel, distributor is in correct (checked 7 times, the firing order is correct. Any thoughts? Anyone? Its doing my head in.

doubting checking that my motor is in good nic before it gets pulled and i noticed that the dizzy shaft has a bit of play, twisting motion. some of it is comjng from an ill fitting rotor buttom but there is some on the shaft it self. ripped of the cam cover to find it not to constantly messhing with gear on the cam. is the way its supposed to be. ive got to replace the oil seal in the dizzy so want to do both at the same time.

I want to fit Air conditioning into my 1994 Corolla Seca AE101. It has the 4age 20 valve silvertop engine in it at the moment and the air compressor is ALREADY attached but it requires everything else as it didn't come standard with AC. 1. Does anyone know what AC kits from what model corollas would fit to the compressor already attached to the silvertop engine? Are they interchangeable? 2. Can you recommend a wrecker for me to call that might have this part or deals with corollas? 3. Would it be hard to fit myself? The compressor is already attached to the engine so I imagine the dashboard needs removal to install the buttons/interface and the radiator would…

Hi all. In the past I've seen people hunting down replacement gaskets, and often they can't get them without buying a new part (water pump etc) or a complete VRS kit. I may be able to help out, if you can let me know of any you can think of that are a pain to find let me know. Not just Corolla gaskets, any gaskets you've had trouble finding in the past. Let me know if I get enough interest then I might get some made up.

Hey guys, when I was removing the diff, I seem to have farked the threads on the rear leaf mounting pins/bolts that go through the eyes.. My question is, can I just put normal bolts back in there or do I have to get them re threaded? I only ask as the pins have a splined edge on them for some reason? Any help appreciated. Cheers

Hi All, I'm about to buy some new extractors for a 5k i have in a ke20. Currently running the sprinter twin outlet cast header with what i think is about a 1.75 inch system with a straight through muffler. Weber's ( Thinking 40mm twins ) on their way possibly so it looks like exhaust time as my manifold ( from memory, it was a long time ago ) has the hole in the centre of it opening up onto the bottom of the inlet manifold. Mild 5k, can't remember cam grind ( it was 19 years ago after all ) , ports in head were opened up a bit, valves redone, engine had a balance / blueprint etc, nothing hardcore at all. Vehicle will just be a weekend toy, still no…

hey dudes ive got a good condition ke35 low kms, dint in the drivers door, stock everything and looks good. problem is i found a 3tgte, t50 and 9" to drop in it. all seems easy enough, ive got a t28bb for it manifold almost complete, got the engine crossmember sorted and gearbox crossmember sorted, diffs complete and shortened to suit corolla, got bigger brakes and shocks in the front already, motor and box sitting in. Now i need to change my brake master to stop fouling on the manifold, got one sitting here, drill holesaw into firewall for hydraulic clutch setup, pedal already modified, wiring complete just pretty much plug in looms and sort out a few loose bits. al…

Hey everyone, recently I installed AE86 front coilovers in my KE70. They are the threaded sleeve weld on type and there's something funny going on with them. Now I didn't make them but I've been told they have a Pedders R31 Sports insert in them and the casings have been shortened an unknown amount, although I measured them and they are ~400mm on the outside from top to bottom. The problem is that they have movement in the shaft and this can be felt as a clonk when you go over a bump, and the shaft can be seen moving from side to side when you jack the car up and push and pull on the strut casing. Yet the shocks work fine and don't appear to be leaking, initially I though…

Hey guys, Just after some input. I am currently running a 4k in my KE70, I have recently had ideas and dreams for more power so thought a bigger engine would be fun. I decided 5k since it seemed most of my 4k running gear will bolt straight onto the 5k. I found a 7k engine in good nick, which I've been informed most of my 4k gear will also bolt upto. What should I do? Cheers, Jake.

hi everyone, i have been building a 4age combo that has a t50 behind it. there a two things left for me to buy. one is a starter motor, does it have to be a ae86 one to fit under the stock headers? we have tryed playing around with a few we had lieing around but it hit on the headers. second item is a salve cylinder i no i can use a ae71, but i noticed at the wreckers that one from a ae82 looks like a close fit? so i wondering if an other salve cylinder of an other rolla would work? as i havent seen to many ae71s lieing around? thanks for the help.

Hi all, Straight cut or dog gears whatever you want to call them, in a T50, has anyone ever heard of such a kit for the T50, I have had a bit of a look over the net and dragged up f*@$k all so my next step was here, I thought if anyone has done it or found anything like this it would be here. I’m interested in seeing if it has be done and if its worth it or if it’s just as easy to run a W5X of some kind, or has anyone had any kind of gear work done to the T50 to strengthen it? Let me know I’m very interested in finding out what you all have done as I think the T50 is a fantastic little gearbox with allot of potential and allot of people under rate it over the big…

Gday, i have a corolla sx ae92 with a 4age 16 valve engine. Me & my mate have made twin throttle bodies as we were thinking of putting them into my car. I have researched and i have not found many results of 4age engines with twin throttle bodies. Has anybody tried this before? Will i need to buy a new computer in order for them to work? Does anybody think i will get alot more power out of the engine? Thanks.

hey everyone, i brought my ke70 a while ago and the 4k that was in it was stuffed when i got it. recently i brought a vl and got heavily defected and now i am looking at putting the rb30 out of the vl into my ke70 as a drift car. i am choosing the rb over a 4age/4agze, sr and ca as i already own it and funds are very short. has anyone done this conversion before as i am after any pointers on what to look out for and what you had to do to fit it in. any help would be very appreciated, i am not looking for people to say don't do it, i'm after people actually wanting to help. i don't want the car mod plated or road legal i just want a drift pig thanks to anyone who can h…

So I've got a blown head gasket. I've heard there are some additives which can repair a blown head gasket without taking off the head. Anyone used or can recommend any of these additives? I'de rather try a cheap fix before spending big money on repairing it.
