Hey guys, Just wondering if anyone knows of any differences between a KE55 BW68 diff and an AE71 BW Diff? I know they're about 50mm longer over all and 70ish mm axle tubes Vs 60ish. But are they internally different? Pumpkin sizes? or Axle thickness?

has anyone ever seen a sunroof in a ke70 at all? becuase the ke70 ive got has one in it. oval in shape and I'm not sure if its stock or someone has decided to put it in.

just in the process of picking up a ke70 wagon and was wanting to use as my first learning project car. i want it for drifting and a drag car, would like to get an ideas on engines to put in I'm wanting to turbo it aswell. been looking at sr20 and 4age and was wondering if anyone knew which was easier and what has more power and would suit the turbo. got alot of mates that are willing to help plus my dad and uncle all either are very car minded or are mechanics not a p plater, looking at spending about 10grand and road worthy for mainly a weekend runner and odd occasion drive around on week days to take to the track cheers

ive got a ke20 but no seats or rails anymore and was wondering if there was another more common seat rail i could get from the wreckers or somewhere any help would be great cheers steve :y:

hey evrione my ke30 got writen of last night some idiot hit the back of me coz he dident relise it was a red light. annyyyyway I'm guna look at another ke30 tomorrow its a ke30 with a 5k in it? it been out of rego for 9 months will it pass blue slip without the motor being enginenerd? and can anyone tell me roughly what a blue slip is worth as iv never had to get one before? I'm going to check it out in the morning. thanks guys

G,day all,can any one tell me if they no of any one lifting a 89-90 SR5 4WD Corolla . I would like to lift it 2 inches or more like they do with the subarus, can this be done ? & what would the wheel stud pattern be 4x100 ? . Cheers Dave

hay guys can't find any info So I'm wandering what the best turbo would be for a suck thru setup on my 3tc I'm wanting to have a medium sized turbo that will start spooling around 3500 rpm and it wil be combined with some brd forged low compression pistons 6:1 compresion ratio or maybe 7:1 and want to be running 10 to 15 psi of boost what would you guys sugest

Ok so my car is just about ready for the spray booth but i have been told by the dent man that he wouldnt be able to get it streight enough and its beyond repair. So I'm am now in need of a nice streight bonnet badly. Could anyone tell me if they make after market bonnets for a 83 ke70 flat front tand where to get them, or if you have one or know anyone who has one that whants to sell one that would be great. Howdy been looking around and can't find an answer to my question.. basically just put a new radiator in my ke70 (bog stock 4k), not blocked or anything like that.. started her up and all fine no leaks etc. turned car off and opened the radiator cap after being running for about 20 seconds and there was a huge amount of air which came out when the cap came off. sort of like opening a soft drink if u cud imagine.. anyway thats the first thing.. didnt think much of it so started her up again and opened the oil cap to top up oil and there was air pumping out continuiously. havnt come across this before, so bad that i cudnt top up oil with it running without wearing it.. no…

Hey all, May as well start at the beginning. I am a fully qualified Mechanic. I have recently moved to Mill Park (just near Bundoora). I have a 1976 Ke30 4 door with a CA18DET including Transmission and custom driveshaft. Up front are some RA60 struts, hubs, rotors and calipers which will soon have new bearings, shortened strut inserts with coilovers, machined standard rotors and green stuff pads. My first issue is the Positive Camber. Is there any adjustable LCAs or Camber hats for the ke30? hey everyone i have got a 5k with 4k head on it and a solid cam, i have chev lifters and a12 pushrods but they seem too long does anyone know what length pushrods are needed? thanks for any help

Hey I'm looking at buying a Ke70 with a bluetop 4age conversion, The conversion is almost done just needs a Thermofan, tailshaft, g/box crossmember, and a bit of wiring sorted out. what do u guys rekon?

hey ive got a ae92 1992 model with the supercharged 4age...lately the eng light has come on and it just wont rev/drive properly..ive had mechanics look at it and they can't find codes but one today said it feels like its in limp mode? if anyone has come across this before let me know...or what can i look at myself? i was told the sensor inside the air box had been permanently disconnected? is that bad?

hey, i think i may have found myself a 5k, but i thinnk it may be a forklift motor.. would need a rebuild and i would be turboing it so it will be getting different pistons anyways.. are there differences between the motors? are they the same? help??

hay guys my mate wants to get a ksev with 4age that is 80% done all that it needs is a talishaft cooling fan for 1700 and the wiring sorted the only problem with it is this (actual txt ) well i have power at the computer and power at both sides of the coil but no spark. the alternator is all wired up too. I'm not sure why there is no spark but there is no power at the module. ok so thats what we were told with the wiring we just wana find out what you guys think it could be he is looking at spending 8k on this aswell :wink: cheers i advance

Gday fellow rolla club members. my family just brought a 323 astina 1992 it is idling really low and doesnt like pulling off and seems to starve of petrol and then comes to life after around 2000 rpm i have checked the transmition and its fine. i am convinced it is to do with either the injectors, a sensor or the fuel pump. sorry for being so vague and ideas what it could be and what to check thanks in advance Harry

Simple question really... here's what I've got I've got a KE55X (hardtop) "rolling shell" and a Complete 3K running gear... in wrecked ke30 can I rego the ke55 with the 3k in it???

Hey guys just after your opinion On the weekend I thought I would have a look at my carby as it won't open the secondaries and always idles high so I had a look to make sure all the vac lines were on and had a play with the levers and things to see if maybe anything was seized or loose couldn't find anything wrong Now it started running better after I played with the levers and things and idled at a normal rev so I was happy then on my way home from work it started playing up a lil bit then I it's started idleing high again and then all the sudden just dies and other times it just looses acceleration This would be meaning the carbys shagged and needs to be replaced …

What happens if I disconnect and these pipes and just block them off?

Before I say this I'll say I don't know exactly how a alternator works exactly, so forgive me if what I say sounds silly. I was just thinking about superchargers and how they need to be run either from a belt to the engine or with electric motors, so I thought, if you hooked up a separate alternator to the engine and then somehow connected the energy created from this to run the SC, would this allow it to run better/harder due to the alternator using less KW from the engine than if the SC was directly connected to it? Or would you need the alternator to power something which would run a belt to the SC which would probably mean there is no point unless the power gaine…

Okay so I've taken the head off the 4k to change a few things, taken extractors and carbie plus manifold off and all back on now, problem is now when I go to start it it turns over but pops really loud, from the carbie I think and extractors back firing kind of but won't start?! Now I did take the diZzy off so it's not in original spot so obviously timing would be a bit out but still thought it would at least start. Any ideas what would be causing it to pop loudly like this and not start? Started up fine last time I took the head off. Any help would b great, cheers!

Ok first question How do you guys do the oil pressure upgrade I have read that you put a 2mm washer in the oil pump but where? Ok second thing I have a rattle and squeak over about 70ks coming from my diff only started in the last week seams to be coming from the front of the diff and there is a touch of play in the front bearing is it possible to replace it at home or just look for another diff? I need to get a new diff anyways as it's 4:30 and I want 4:11 but it's annoying on the way to work Thanks guys Miller

Ok, ive done alot of tie-rods and ball joints in my time, and wether its the first one, or the last one i do,i always get a stubborn one, i wanna hear your options or opinions on how you go getting that one annoying taper free i've used tie-rod/ball joint fork separators, the fork setup with the wind in thread, hammer on one end of tierod/ball joint - wind the nut out until i hit the nut instead of the thread, drive a chisel or wedge between the taper and the fixed part its stuck on weight or long bar putting weight or strain on the arm to give it something to help loosen it heat on the area to free it yet I'm still getting times where I'm stuck. Hey guys since I've changed my wheels on my ke26 I have noticed more so (it was like it before also) that at the rear the passenger side is 10-15mm higher than the drivers side. Sounds stupid but is this because someone has always sat in the drivers side for 40 years and the driver side leaf has slightly sagged? Or are there other variables that effect ride height? Its not the shocks as they are completely farked. Troy

hi guy wanting to buil a 5k and seeing as there is much avalibil in cams 4 a 5k, can u use a bigger cam for a 4k in a 5k? i saw that the timing chain part numbers are the same between 4k-5k only diff i can see is soild lifters in 4k and hydrolic in 5k any help would be good

I am currently looking at a set of rims for my ke11 and I cannot decide if I should go 14" x 6.5" on front, or 15" x 6.5" then on the rear 14" x 7.5" or 15" x 7.5" If you look at the pictures below I have plenty of room to spare if I get the inside of the guards professionally rolled there should be plenty of room and that is the height it will be staying. I will also be keeping the original rims and tyres for those odd occasions :cool: . If someone has some pictures or experience with this size rim on a ke1x vehicle I would like to hear your comments, pros and cons. thanks guys and gals :y:
