Hi, I'm new to the rollaclub and this is my first post. I have bought an 1982 KE70 from an old lady. On close inspection i found that it has been fitted with a larger engine. The sump rubs on the crossmember. I have added some photos car and engine details, is some able to advise what needs to be done to rectify this problem. thanks!

I'm new to corollas but not Toyotas. I just recently got a 77 corolla 3KC with 126,00mile (orig.), I have cleaned the carb 2 times and it still will not idle without a rag over the 1st barre. It is driveable and runs great on the top end. Am I missing simething on the idle side? I cleaned out everything, like slow idle jet and put ia a new parts from a rebuild kit. Any help would be great, by the way I bought it from a guy who was the original owner and keeped excellent records for $600.oo. It turns out he was a B-17 pilot in WW2 and was a prisoner of war, anyway thanks in advance.

I was driving home tonight and as i was driving home i pulled into maccas to get something to eat. Everything seemed fine but as i was waiting for my food in the drive through all my lights started to flicker ( like dim then go back to full power, dim then full power, etc)... I go to take off the car felt sluggish then started backfiring through the carbs really badly... guys, I'd love some advice before i buy the wrong HD clutch kit. i have read all the guides i can on here, and they all seem to say that a 5k clutch is 200mm in diameter, and 4k is 180mm. now, i measured up mine and its 180 mm diameter, and its def. a 5k engine. so, i assume previous owner/s has put 3,4k clutch on it, and i get the 200 mm clutch kit regardless? or do i order the 180mm? any help appreciated

I was talking to Ryan (SLO-030), and I was thinking of this. If I was to keep a 4-speed k40 behind a 4K, would it be worth dragging out the diff ratio to 3.9 or 3.7, OR, get a 5-speed k50, throw in a 4.11 diff ratio, but get the 5th gear cog machined from 0.86 to 0.75? I've tried the theory.......(on Forza 3) and a 0.75 5th gear will mean the Revs will drop on upshift like 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th gear does, rather than just an 800rpm difference. It'd be like 1500-2000rpm difference, and even like the other gears. Ryan said there would be no point in doing the 5th gear modification, because you're only going to blow up your gearbox one day, and I agree with him 10…

Gday guys, I'm a bit of a newbie to the rolla club website but is a very good site. i have a 4k which i have sone a blowthru turbo set-up on it everything runs sweet as but when i go to stop or pull up at the lights i get a bit of smoke come out the exhaust?? I'm using a brand new Garrett T25 so i don't think it has anything ro do with it, under boost or just cruising its fine only when the engine starts to slow down i get a bit?? any information would be good thanks chris :bash:

I'm getting frustrated with this 4age running pig rich can't seem to solve the problem was wondering if A aftermarket ecu that i could programe the a/f mix on would resolve the issue? has anyone put a megasquirt on a 4age

would it be a good chioce to put an ae86 adm diff in my 4age ke70? and can i use the ae71 tailshaft or use the 86 shaft? cheers

Hey guys, After much stuffing around and alot of fallen through ECU purchases because most people who advertise shit don't bother responding or putting the correct contact information up, I have finally got the car to fire up and actually hold rpm. Unfortunately It's not holding idle speed. A few things come to mind, throttle gap on the butterfly, air idle bypass screw, injector opening time. So, what gap should I set on the butterfly? Should I set the idle air screw halfway and go from there? another issue that I thought I had down pat was fueling. Apparently not. So finally getting my corolla painted currently in primer and finishing off some body work. basically just need some ideas of paint jobs! so far all i have thought of is White but i think it would be to plain/common, orange which might be to over the top, Gun metal gray (yet to find a decent looking one with out quad lights) or Midnight blue which looks pretty sweet! if anyone has any ideas for paint colours! please let me know it would be good to get some opinions :y:

Hey guys. So i want to change headlights for the up and coming ke10 and don't want to use sealed beams for obvious reasons. Now i've had a failry decent search for new ones and all i can seem to find are stupid frosted and diamond headlights which are fully crap. Wondering if anyones found anything that looks like the original lights (lines in the lenses etc) either new or out of another car.. Any help will merit you one free internet

Evening Everyone Just got a quick couple of questions about universal joint problems. Firstly I have a small port 4age in a KE35, T50 box and stock borg warner diff. I broke the universal in front of the diff the other day, just fell into pieces. Gave it a boot full, dropped the clutch and bang. Previous owner said that he had it happen to him twice as well. Now I know this is a "high load" situation and that things break at the weakest point. That being said, it is probably better breaking a uni rather than a diff, however, I thought that it was still pretty unusual. Has anyone had any experience with this? Hey guys I'm about to get an AE92 Seca with a 4AFE. I am looking to rebuild/recondition the motor just to keep it going for many thousands of kms. Is it possible to rebuild a 4AFE with 4AGE internals eg pistons, rods, rings, bearings? As i have heard the only difference is the intake cam spins backwards on the 4AFE and i can't see why the 4AGE internals wouldn't fit. If it's not possible, are there any manafacturers that make rebuild kits for a 4AFE as i can only find them in America. Any extra info would be great. Cheers :dance:

Issue: Originally purchased a MA61 as a street legal track car but upon stripping more then expected rust was present(SURPRISE??).... about 7 inches either side below the front windscreen is rusted out :( decided a donor car was needed and purchased a almost rust free MA61 without a sunroof! but is defected(Tread,a few lights & replaced steering column).. Hi guys can someone please help me. I have had a bit of a look around the site but can't find what I need. Can someone please tell me how do I take the strut tops off my KE70 front struts. I have tried unbolting it when on the car and off the car. All that happens is it spins. So I figure either their not meant to come off or I'm a little dim. Please help.

Hey guys, My Holden Astra 1.8 TS 2004 has one rear brake squeaking, it first started last week when I was just driving along and it was random and now it's becoming an ongoing sound! It only dissappears when I hit the brake pedal, so I thought yep pads are on the way out, but looking at them, they have heaps of meat left on them... any ideas? My mums fine) It started a few weeks ago and has gotten progressively worse, I could start the car and drive for a good ten minutes then it would start to die but if I then pulled over it would start again and hold idle but if you reved it, Would be fine then "miss" cough and start to die again, sometimes if you were light with your foot you could recover idle before it died.
