my engine ight keeps coming on if been told it was the air flow meter changed that still doing it then got told its my coolant temp sensor changed that and its still doing it keeps cutting out and wont rev hard any ideas plz help

Greetings, I am having a problem with my 95 1.6L that I can't seem to figure out. I have searched many forums and tried many things that resolved others' similar problem with no luck. Basically, the car runs absolutely fine while driving along or for short distances. Once the engine temp gauge reaches the middle, at red lights or in traffic, the engine begins idling very rough and almost stalls. Once you're moving again and the temp cools, all is well. Here is what has been done so far. The fuel pump was replaced a few months ago due to a no-start issue. Hi guys I'm romeo having trouble taking out one bolt at the top of the starter motor every time try to unscrew it doesn't turn so can someone help, its a ke70 wagon, how to I turn it downwards or upwards??

my car starts splattering and dieing all the time but wen i pull over and turn it of then back on it runs fine for a little while then does it again i replaced the air flow meter then i didnt do it for a week now has started again any ideas? cheers :)

Hey guys, I own a 1997 Corolla, 130k on the clock and no oil leaks at all and very well looked after, nice and tidy. I am posting because I am looking for advice from someone in-the-know. (Please don't get the wrong impression) I am a young driver so am restricted to lower performance cars (for a good reason) and I'm not really a fan of wrapping myself or my mates around a tree. hey guys :/ never ending problems really. but here is number 4213. finally the ke gets on the road. new battery and fuel filter so it should have ran sweet but! i have just put a 32/36 webber on my 4k. but when i drive it. it runs but as soon as i hit a hill it dies. it just runs out of fuel. its like it can't make it too the webber, any ideas :( this is really killing me now guys :bash:

hi everyone, i want to bore out my 5k about 8 thou and put over sized pistons in but i have no idea about it should i do it, will it make much of a difference in power, (will it make a difference at all?) if i do it what else will need to be done. oh and what else can i do to the bottom end to give my 5k more power?

hey there I have a st142 toyota corona 22re, i need a locker to start drifting, but when i went to get it welded a friend of mine said it can't be done? does anyone have any info on how to weld this diff or even another diff to put in my corona with out much work needed? if anyone can help would be really great, thanks :)

Okay, 1991 Cressida Grande. Well taken care of, 6th cylinder has started misfiring (the one closest to the firewall). I replaced all the spark plugs and ignition leads yesterday (and the air filter as I had to take part of the intake parts out anyway) to try to combat this issue. And it worked fine, but today the problem has returned. It's running a stock 7M-GE, which is burning off a small bit of oil and water, but no cause for alarm yet (I'm not needing to top it up every day and there's no blue or white smoke coming out of the exhaust). There was a bit of oil on this specific spark plug when I took out the old one, and it was abnormally tighter …

Okay, I'm trying to help a buddy locate a good front coil over conversion for his 1971 Corolla...He does not want to replace the stock strut tube which I believe is smaller that the SR5 buy about 5mm. He is also looking into using ground control front adjustable coil overs so that means he wants a shock that is a short stroke so that when he lowers his front end, the shocks would not bottom out. What would be a good spring rate for street use? I do know that the MR2 shocks are often used, but non SR5 had 45mm outside diameter front strut housing and in contrast the SR5 versions had 50mm housings. Hi guys I have problem with my ke70 wagon sometimes try to start the ignition didn't kick but the break light is on everytime try to start the car, try to look for starter motor but don't know where the starter motor location, or how to install a new one so can anyone help me out.. also sometimes the engine shakes, I though it was oil pump or maybe the cabie is gone posibily.. it could be anything... Hey all. Going to replace the locks on my Ke10 with solex's. Easy part. Now the bit in unsure of is I have a 1967 drivers door and a 1969 passenger door. The locks and mechanisms are listed as 67 ke10 68 ke10 69 ke10 If I buy a set to suit 1969 ke10 I'm unsure as to if it will work will the 67 door and linkages? Any ideas?

alright. i got jipped a while back with buyin a pair of lcas. they came with new rubbers and you ball joints. and sprayed black so they hell Overrated. BUT there was no outer sleeve. no outer sleeeve no lac's for meee does anyone either have.. or no where i could get these "outer sleeeves" cause i am totally stummped :/

I got the head shaved down so compression is at 10.1 i think And had the oringinal cam reground but can't remember specs and got extractors with 2 and 1/2 inch exhaust but with stock carby. And I'm about to slap a sc14 supercharger on it and is wondering if anyone can tell me if it will just go pop or will it last? Please need some help?

Hey all, Now i know there are a few of these posts going around but mine is a different topic from what I'm reading. I have a 4k-c KE55 that is misfiring. Two weeks ago i replaced a broken ballast resistor(voltage limiter beside coil) and was sweet after that. Now is becoming a little more reluctant to start. It once started perfectly everytime but now need to hold the ignition on and plant the accelerator to start it and even then conks out randomly. But once started is when the real issues occur. ok. So i drove my car for the first time today. and i gotta say, its super slow! Is this normal? 4K engine 3spd box ( i think its coz its a auto 3spd) I floored it and literally went no where! the speed didnt cross 50km/h Will a 5spd improve speed? Seriously thinking of a 4AGE conversion now :/

I love those 70's car shapes and I've found a few corollas on Car-sales, but I'm just wondering what I should be looking for in a good one.Yes I know these cars are more than 30 years old so they're not going to be showroom quality, but how much hassle am I to expect from a vintage Corolla in general? My car's got 300+ km's on it, so I'd like to clean the injectors. I don't want to remove them and risk damaging them. I've read a lot about people putting different additives in the tank to help clean them. Just wondering what people on here have tried and results. Ok so it's now time to step it up a notch in the backyard mechanic skill set. My 5K engine is slowly starting to fall apart and with the recent addition of a crack in the water jacket, suggesting head warpage I have decided the engine is need need of either binning or a DIY rebuild. I say DIY because of two things, one is that a low K 5K engine is damn hard to find locally and is usually over priced. Or two, the professional rebuilds are too expensive for what it's worth. The head work will be done by professionals as the price is great, $110 - $150 for reface + valve and valve seat re grind + crack test. I paid $110 to do that on my 4k but that was two years ago.…

hi i have just put twin su's on my 4k and having problems i seem to be able to get it to start with the choke thats all fine, but when i go to give it some gas even if i let it warm up heaps it seems to bog, then as i let it off it revs up a lil then back again. I have very limited knowledge of the su's but have been trying to read everything i can i seem to have done it all right but it still happens can anyone help me at all or any idea's

Hello I have a KE 36 (1976) I just want to know what the standard brakes are like in these cars. At the moment they seem pretty well useless and finding myself using gears to pull her up, is this normal? I would like to know before i pull the wheels off and check the brakes. This may also be related but i find the car very hard to push even on a flat driveway. Cheers guys

Hey guys, I know its not a toyota, but i thought i would throw this up over here, as some of the most useful info i have received over the over the years has been from here. Over the past week or so ive noticed some smoke coming from under my ute when i pull up, finally got the time to pop the bonnet and have a look today, to find it pouring out of the vent on the other side of my oil catch can. To eliminate variables i pulled the hose off from the PCV and its doing the exact same thing.
