Ok so I'm rebuilding my 4k and have 5k pistons (8cc volume) pistons. Just wondering if any one can point me in the right direction to what my compression will be. Head is a ke70 4k head. Hope this is enough info. Thanks in advance

So just about to invest in some coilovers and i have come across BC v1 race coilovers to fit an AE86, front and rear. Before i order them i just need to know if the ae86 camber top stud pattern is the same as my 83 ke70 and if they will fit into the back aswell because i have heard that the AE86 has basicly the same chassie as a ke70 or AE71 and that they should fit. Could some one help us out and tell me if any modifications need to be made to fit them in the strut towers in the front and rear? Cheers :y:

hey guys..my ta22 celica has a frustrating problem, the accelerator is stuck and wont unjam itself..when you break, clutch, change gears...its still going!! it wont stop unless you pull it up, ive had a look and i can't seem to find anything thats making it stuck...got any ideas???

Hi Can any one post a pic of how their bonnet cable run's in a KE2#? I wish to install one in my TE21 on the right hand side of the car. I don't know were it passes through the fire wall etc as it snakes it's way to the front. Thanks Shane

Hey Hey, I have a 32/36 weber on my Pajero. SAeeing as some folk here like these carbies i'll ask here.It wont idle properly. Idles at 200 - 300rpm. No vac leaks i can find. Drives well, cruises well. Dies when i add start ya bastard. Runs better when i cover fuel bowl vents but still not 100%. New kit put through, new needle and seat. To get it to idle i have turn the mixture screw out nearly 10 turns and crack the primary butterfly which is very wrong. Idles shit aswell. I'm not expecting a miracle answer but suggestions.

Hi guys, Just having trouble sourcing a rebuild kit for my 4kc here in oz. Wondering if there is any company around that can supply me with rings, mains, big ends, all seals & gaskets for a stock standard freshen up to my little 1.3tr. Preferably here in Oz, as I know there are companies in the US that sell stuff for Starlets, but the amount of hoops you need to jump through & paperwork one company want is ridiculous. They're all new and shiny, and I want them to stay that way, plus keep dust and crap away from the dampers. So I made these: I know coilover covers can be bought, but I couldn't find any in the right size, and most of them were pretty pricey anyway. Hey i've got my te27 steering arms on the way and ive been searching for some ae86 coil-overs for my ke20.. no luck so far and i don't want to fork out for brand newies. are there any other alternatives such as s13 coil overs? any additional modifications or will they go in the same? its just that they are easier to source. help would be much appreciated and i want to get these in next week.

Hey guys, as most of you know I have recently completed a changeover to EFI. The only failure was to have ignition control. Thus I have not attached my supercharger fearing I would blow the motor without adequate ignition timing. So my question is, what is safe timing for something like 5psi??? Do I really need to worry for something so mild?? As far as I know the 5k electronic dizzy has little advance in it anyway. Would it be safe to supercharge in my situation without changing ignition timing?

hey fellas, i was thinking of upgrading later on in the year, after i set up the car a little better (eg. suspension, brakes, rims) and i was thinking of putting an RB20 in....i know its Nissan and you'll tell me to piss off to NS haha, but i was wondering if you recon it could be done, problems i will face (other than the fact that a motor conversion is generally difficult, plus i realise crossing manufacturers can be suicide) but i was just wondering about any OTHER issues with a Ke70 in general motor conversion, as I'm sure even troubles occur when it comes to 4AGE's and stuff being put in the rollas. cheers

Hey guys, Just wondering if the 5K can go gasketless? As in just use silicon and no rubber gasket. I have gone through two sump gaskets already as they just deform and pop out of place when I tighten them up. They don't even sit on properly to begin with. The gasket is totally fine in all places but the corner underneath cylinder 1 pops out and leaks like a bastard. Cheers

Hi all Stuart here Thomas dad , I was ratting parts of our donor car today and noticed it had a factory fitted double front transverse spring and was just wondering if this is standard on the ke10 as Thomas ke11 only had a single leaf or is it possible it may be a Bill Buckle special modification?????. ok so i got another fuel regulator as my original one was f@$k well i have 2 after market ones (AS THE STOCK ONE IS f@$kED at 30 ish psi it will idle on its own but wont rev 125 psi it can almost be driving but dies under slight load i have had best results from using a basic aftermarket adjustable one and have had less results from the rising rate one so annoyed help

hey guys i got to school this morning and went to start my car it wouldn't all its making is the solenoid noise. I'm guessing its the starter motor as everything is still working. it does turnoover but only for half a second. can you guys help me please cheers

Hi, I have a 5K, 97% sure that its high compression as it ping with 91 fuel (lol) it has extractors and a 1n 3/4 inch exhaust and i plan on getting some decent carby or carbies on it.. Now my question is, what specs should I have the cam to if I want it to be 'mild' Mild meaning a bit lumpy and nothing crazy RPM haha .. also keeping the hydro? cheers

I thought something seemed a little odd when I was looking at it last: we have a ke36 panelvan, with a two reservoir master cylinder, both reservoirs mounted on the master cylinder. the way the brake lines are hooked up, the rear (secondary) circuit is closest to the booster, and the front (primary) circuit is the further of the two away. looking at the other corolla with working brakes, the front (primary) is hooked up closer to the booster, and the rear (secondary) is the further of the two away, although it is a ke55 master cylinder (square reservoir).... reading on the internet, I'm under the impression that the front should always be the closest to the brake boos…

ok so i have low fuel pressure in my injector rail on my 3tgte low enough it wont start........................................................... things i found that don't seem right 1. fuel pump is constantly screaming away IT SOUNDS LIKE IT ISNT BUILDING PRESSURE like it should 2.when i crimp the return line after the regulator it will idle and build up pressure in the rail. 3. had the engine out of the engine bay for about a month just had all fuel drained from the fuel rail 4. tried 4 differnt regulaters that havent been near fuel for over 12months my theories 1. its the regulater even after trying 4 all have been left out of fu…

Hey everyone, my wagon is now built and on the road, it goes well other than a few teething problems. the next big task is tuning the suspension as it currently handles like a boat. I have done some research but i am new to this so i am a little unsure on what to buy. i read in an earlier post in the AE discussion which provided some good info but its about a sedan. i have a new set of munroe GT gas shocks and 3cm lowerd king springs in the front but i will replace them all if a new set up is needed. OK, so I picked up a donor KE70 for a manual conversion for my KE70 because i got sick of skidding with a slipping sludgebox. I found that the donor has a stock 5K in it. I also have a KE20 with 4K that i bought 2 yrs ago that has: 32/36 webber + adaptor Larger reground cam (unsure what size until i take it out) and extractors that are sitting in the boot I am just wondering: 1. can I use the carbie, cam and extractors on the 5K? 2. If not, is it worth putting the stock 5K in or putting all the stuff into good 4K? 3. I might do some basic headwork, wich head would be best to use? and what would be best compression?
