G'day guys, Just a quick one I'm going to buy some lock nuts for my cars, But i need to know what angle factory corolla wheel nuts are where they enter the wheel.. As they have about 4 different ones listed.. And also at a guess mag nuts would be different to just stockie nuts in this regard? Cheers

Hi Guys, I recently bought a c160 6 speed Ae111 gearbox, it has arrived and i am trying to confirm it is the 6 speed as advertised. Only markings are from the importer who labelled it ae111 6mt(i did confirm with them before buying that it was a c160). I have tried moving the selector and can only get it into the red positions shown below. Is there any trick to getting the reverse gear? or where is the 7th gear position, or is this a 5 speed. Want to find this out before raging the seller. Thanks in advance

Hey guy's ! so it has come time were i must choose a diff ive done quite a bit of reading but still have some questions so here it goes.......... The Hilux diff sounds like it's almost going to be bullet proof but witch hilux should i use and what kind of lsd centres do they make for them are they any good ? - this would be my most preferd choice if they make a nice lsd...... Hoookay so the s/t series sounds like the best match so far couse its still toyota ! but iam still unsure about the lsd's they seem to have reall nice ones - iam thinking this one is most comfy and the r31/vl tu-bro diff well every one seems to speak highly of them but that would be li…

Ok, before you guy's start flaming me I'd like to explain myself. I'd like to take my car to a few track days and learn how really drive a car sideways in a safe environment. I'm from the northern suburbs of melbourne and the car ( RT142 corona) will be pulled off rego in a few weeks. I know welded diff's are dodgy and break easily but I'm not about to go and spend big bucks on 2 ways etc at this stage on a first year apprentice wage. I've researched the internet and asked around for people who can actually weld a diff and no luck so would any of you guys know of somebody that can weld my diff in melbourne?

Hi all. This has probably been discussed to death before but i can't find. Restoring a KE25 n am deciding what to do engine wise... I have an AE82 sitting my driveway awaiting some TLC however i have been thinking about ripping the engine out and putting it in the 25.. I have had a read in the faq bit and it seems pretty straightforward as far as converting the engine goes. Just wondering if anyone has done this and weather there are any performance issues when this conversion is done. All info small or detailed would be appreciated. Cheers. Glen

Heyguys, I'm trying to source some roof racks. I don't really like any roof rack styles besides these ones..... Don't know where i got this pic from, but it was somewhere on here a while ago I THINK. These ones look good as they look as if you can just clip them on. Which is perfect for me.

I have a couple of questions about this conversion: What number of splines would my t50 need to have, to sit behind my 4agze without modifacation? (As i don't want to gaft/swap splines) What clutch would be best suited to use? (Ive heard celica but what series?) Hope you can help!! All answers and expereience offered will be much appreciated!!! =)

Ok so sometimes, getting more often now, on startup and lower revs the engine makes that terrible fan belt "SQUEEEEEEEEE"... so I've tightened the fan belt, but it still does it. Also from 1000 to 1500 revs half the time it goes "sqik sqik sqik sqik" like a squeeky trolley wheel that needs WD40 or something, as well as fairly often doing the "SQUEEE" crap. Should I be replacing the fan belt? Chiars guys :)

Hi All, here's my first how to, not sure if the pics will work but here go's. Cheap brake upgrade for RWD Corollas (AE71 or similar). After looking through endless web pages for information on a cheap brake upgrade, and not finding anything useful (some people have a different view on what “cheap†is – my definition is as cheap as possible) I've decided to throw this article together. My set up (not yet cleaned and painted) http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p232/fo.../Image00002.jpg Close up: http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p232/fo.../Image00003.jpg I've used T18 struts as the basis of my upgrade as they are fairly easy to find (compar…

Hey guys just wondering if anyone has this kit and still knows where their manual resides. I have the unit but for the life of me I cannot find the damn manual. I want to get the wideband kit for the display so I need to re configure the unit but without the manual I have no idea how to do it. I think the kit is kc-5300 or something along the lines of that. Cheers!

Hey guys as the title says I have a Ke70 and I'm just thinking about doing a 4afe conversion because of ease of getting the motor and price as I don't have the money to buy a ge motor and I can do ask the work myself just have a few queries am I right in thinking a t50 gearbox will fit it for the obvious rear wheel drive and as for the dizzy problem will a 4age rwd thing fit it and I would run Cathy so I don't have to hunt down a rwd manifold what other pebbles would I run into as for mounting I have read that 4afe blocks are the same as 4age blocks so engine mints won't be a phlegm I can get them any help would be much appreciated it didn't have to be a race car just ada…

Bit of a noob question here but what are the dog tags on the aisan carbs for? Can they be used to find out what k motor they are from? I understand that the less carbon emmission stuff means the older the carb.

Hey guys, Getting back to building my 5k for my white ke10. Want to go the bike carby route, just for something different, trying something new and the sound. The thing i'm not sure is, Is there a way to work out what carby's will be suitable which aren't? I was talking to Jordain on facebook about it earlier and just got lost, he mentioned about going off throat sizes.. He also said he had cbr600 carbs on his 4k, Guessing this would lean out on a 5k? It's going to be pretty mild, heads done to 10.1:1 compression, mild porting, will cop valves and valve springs as well and be run on 98.. Any idea's on how to work it out, or what would be suitabl…

Hi guys just wondering if anyone has had any experience with these turbos (audi/VW 1.8ltr motors). I'm doing some hunting on the webs and I'm finding conflicting information but mostly positive feedback. My application is twincharging the 4k, running ~6psi (yet to be confirmed) on the charger and letting the turbo add another 7ish psi on top of that. Both units will be in circuit for 100% of the performance ergo no bypass valves. I've heard only a little about the K03, the K04 is sort of the direction I am looking at because of it's supposedly quick spool time. The main reason I am looking at this turbo is because I can get them new and I can get them cheap from a…

This is from a Weber conversion booklet put out by Borg Warner (they used to be the Australian Weber agents) sometime in the early 80's giving a listing of suggested jet settings for various tunes, including Corolla's (1200) for twin 40mmDCOE on both stock and full competition engine, Celica's etc amongst many others. I have put the whole listing up in case you have something else of interest in the shed. It lists suggested choke, secondary venturi and assorted jet sizes. This should give you a bit of an idea for a reasonable state of tune prior to heading along to your friendly local dyno. weber settings.pdf

I'm most likely going a whiteline swaybar for my ke10. There's the issue of the brake calipers hitting when you switch to disk brake.. So I had the though of swapping struts side to side so the calipers are now at the rear and don't interfere Can anyone see any problems with this? I was thinking the disks will now be spinning opposite directions than they previously were.. and I'm unsure whether this would have any negative effects or I'm just overthinking it? Cheers!

I also have a few dents here or there, in roof and driver door, also boot and under rear guard is pushed up. rust along front of bonnet. we are stripping and repainting it so if you know anyone that is good at working with panels, it would be good to get it done properly. pics: https://plus.google....580240125225682 https://plus.google....580065931946546 https://plus.google....579795520938610 https://plus.google....501084341651570 https://plus.google....500820108240722

Hey guys I've just out a 5k in my 26 that has had a little amount of work done to it at some point, put new carbies on there and got it running. Only problem is that cylinder 1 doesnt do anything! So far I've figured out that compression is good, I've got spark (at the plug), valve springs and push rods are fine and I have fuel as its on the plug when I pull it out. As I'm a novice mechanically what else could I be looking at? I'm assuming a valve problem?
