I've looked everywhere for a lowering block kit to suit my KE70 Panelvan for a temporary solution until I get my springs reset. Autobahn and Repco told me to hit the road. Cheapa Auto Spares said that they have a kit but it looks like it's for a Hilux (I imagine the early model "Lo-Lux") or something similar. I'm going to measure up my axle tube and stuff tomorrow and check it out, but I was just wondering if someone had already been through this process? Will the guiding pins and U bolts still be alright? Is there a kit not made for KE that still bolts up? Oh, and if you have a kit for KE on the gold coast, let me know. Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone I'm very curious about building my 7k engine into a tough street engine in my 1970 ke11. I have currently been reading a discussion about using quad motorbike carbs on a 4k engine and I would like to use the same setup on my 7k. I'm also going to try and get this engine to rev a bit harder as I know they aren't as rev happy. I have a basic understanding with engines but I would also like to talk with other people to find out more on how to do so. I will also be getting a regrind on the cam, tracking down a light weight flywheel, porting and polishing the head, double valve springs, larger valves, quad carb setup, electronic dizzy, performance headers and…

Hello I need some advice . I have recently put a s14 sr20det into my 1981 ae70 lift back. As with the power upgrade it is certain to say I need better brakes and suspension. I have been lucky enough to have been gifted some s13 front brakes but is as far as I have got . Was wanting help on what master and slave to use what else I need to put the brakes on and what affordable rear brake combo to use in conjunction with the s13 front . And also a way to get around Nissan front and Toyota rear stud patterns . Please help!!

I'd like to record a few things like suspension travel in the rally car but have no idea about how to go about it. I could rig up a mechanical system to get maximum compression over a rally stage, but would really like something to record 10 or 15minutes worth of movement. Then it will be G-forces, steering input, pedal movement.. I can see this will never stop! So, if anyone has any ideas on how you record data, store it and display it later I'd like to know. Farmspec of course, I could go and spend a couple of hundred thousand dollars and buy the commercial packages, but I'm sure ingenuity can do it. My kickoff point would be an infra-red distance meter fro…

Read this right through so you know you have the tools to do it before you start! Bits of pipe, grease gun, a solid hammer....! This is a straightforward job, well technically straightforward and simpler than changing a distributor, but it does need some mechanical hammer work! A side takes about 1-1.5hrs without hurrying. I did one a day, no rush. First, buy two to these. Mine were for my Corona LCAs, I don't know if the KE70 etc are identical, but this part number fits Corona, Celica, & KE Corollas in theory. Get organised- I have a floodlight, several square of carpet to sit on, and I keep the tool box nearby. I get out the tool I want, use it, then p…

Hey guys I currently have a very weird issue in my MS47 Crown. 2 Weeks ago I jacked up the backend and removed the tail shaft to get rebuilt, the chassis has been sitting on stands for a couple weeks with the diff hanging down as per normal. I got my tailshaft back today, it was retube'd and balanced. Sat the car back on the ground and for some reason the back end is sitting literately 3 off inches higher than previous. How on earth does this happen? I've taken it for a drive, everything looks and feels normal, shocks are not locked or anything silly, why would it be sitting much higher?

Going down hill, hard brake, bam foot to the floor. Right rear wheel cylinder spat it's seal. Replaced it with a brand new one, didn't do the other side because I cbf'ed. Bleed up, go down street to test it, bam the left rear goes. (Karma). Replace that side too.. And this is what confuses me, start bleeding the brakes with my brother pumping the pedal up when all of a sudden the brand new right rear cylinder pops. Back to square one. Can't work out why it would pop a new one? Read through a couple threads and this is what I've put it down to. 1. AE86 JDM Brakes up front somehow causing the brake bias to be out and too much pressure going to the rear thus blowing …

The Girl's KE70 has a split in the top of the passenger's rack boot, but KE70s aren't listed in the parts book the shop has, it is all AE Corollas. Does anyone know if the rack boots are the same on the AE86 & the KE70?? I can't see why Toyota would change them, but there are differenmcs in the racks aren't there?? Thanks

Hi, Currently under going a diff upgrade in my KE15 and when I removed the stock diff I pulled the leaf springs off and the original saddle pads were worn out. Saddle pads: http://www.mustangsplus.com/xcart/images/P/15012lg.jpg I have done some reading and found a few places where people suggest throwing them in the bin. Why...They say it tightens up the rear end for better handeling. Now if I run leaf spring directly in contact with diff you would have metal to metal wear.. With pad would stop this.... So I'm in two minds find ones that fit and get new ones OR don't install them and have a better rear end feel etc. What are other peoples v…

Hey there, I've got a TA22 that I'm upgrading the brakes on (4 pot hilux calipers and XT struts!). To make these work I've also got a mitsubishi starion mastercylinder. Unfortunately the master cylinders reservoir is in the way of the vacuum hose. anyone have any smart ideas? is it possible to buy a valve with an outlet on a 90 degree bend? Cheers Ash Oh and on a possibly unrelated note, if I push my brake booster rod thing to the side (hardly any force) I can hear a sucking sound, which makes me think that the seal is pretty trashed?

Hey there guys, I'm looking to achieve more lock out of my Ke70, so far Ive done the following steering modifications.. T3 - Front Lower Control Arms. T3 - Tension Control arms. T3 - Outer Tie rods. T3 - Ae86 Power Steering arms. But I'm still looking to gain more, so i'm wandering what possible steering rack swaps are out there with the use of the stock ke70 engine crossmember? Hey guys, I bought a diff off one of the guys who was parting a car out on here a few months back now ( can't remember his username).. When I went to pick the diff up I was told by the guy I bought it off that he had removed it from the ke70 sedan which he was parting out...on pickup though I realised the diff had disc brakes on it....( to my knowledge no ke70 came out with disc brakes). So my question is, is there anyway to identify what the diff is out off as I want to buy new brake calipers for it to rebuild them as the cradle from one of the calipers is missing.. It's a Borg Warner diff with disc brakes, there is only one number on it it is 0570-02690…

Sup. I have been blessed with an almost rust free shell, my engine bay managed to soak up all the rust... I have been attempting to start the repairs my cleaning out my cooling system however, shortly after I changed over my radiator it sprung a leak. All my hoses and everything aren't leaking and it's a bit of a bugger to trace back. I'll bang up some photos and if you could give me a hand identifying/tracing back the leak. Having no actual cooling problems while driving, engine is still strong and stays cool. It's dumping a considerable amount of water/coolant even though it's just a consistent drip. There is no leak when the car is off, only when th…

Hey guys. Tuesday morning when I was about to leave for work my sev died whilst I was warming it up. It will turn over but won't fire. Got the RAA around last night to see if I could get a diagnosis, he told me that my fuel pump ha packed it in. Got a new pump from Bursons today, the pump itself is exactly the same as the one on the motor at the moment, except it doesn't have a return line. It has the hole where it should be but it doesn't lead to anywhere and the inside of it isn't threaded. But it came with the necessary return line fitting. Have I been given the wring pump?

After installing my AFR I've noticed that the carb leans out really bad when you jump on the throttle (like to 21 AFR). I previously thought it was bogging down to over fuelling but obviously not. If i put the choke on about 1/4 it solves the problem but idles rich, usually it idles stoich right on 14.7. So I'm thinking it might be a partially blocked jet in the secondary throat? I'm not very experienced with carbs so some input would be great.

hey guys, hope i don't get flamed for this, because i did try to search this but didnt really find anything that could tell me. But anyway, i just want to find out the differences between all the 4 age engines? like between 16v and 20 v and big port and small port? and which ones will be better to turbo later on? or will supercharging one be better/more cost effective? Will be for a ke70 and i know it all depends on money but what sort of power can these engines make? Cheers in advance for the help!

New problem - now with the new battery, it feels like it is leaning out pretty badly at low revs and it jolts and like chokes sort of around corners on low revs when you put your foot down a little bit. did not do this before^^ Car - 1966 Corona. Engine - 2R single carb, 8v. any help would be sick!

I have ke55 borg warner diff in my ke20. Its starting to get all harmonic around the 100kph/3000rpm range. Its fine under acceleration and braking. It occurs specifically cruising in 5th gear at that speed. Sound a bit like a washing machine. "brrrr brrrr brrrr brrrr". Just like that! It appears to have a lot of backlash and it 'clunks' when you twist the tailshaft backwards and forwards. As this diff has the ke twenty spring mounts fitted id like to use this diff housing. What are my options in regards to replacing the diff centre and how hard is it? Will the centre out of any k series bw diffs fit?

Ok I am so lost, I have a failing axle in my TE38 and I needed a replacement. So I visited the junk yard and pulled an axle from an Ra40 ST and I can't FIND ANY INFO! Weird thing is in order to gain access to the diff you have a cover on the back you remove and the spindle snout is actually a part of the axle. It's much larger than my stock axle but I can't find an lsd until I can identify this axle. Please help
